Compared with NMV, DMV group exhibited lower MEQ scores, and increased ALFF values in the right orbital superior frontal gyrus (oSFG). We observed that increased FC between the left suprachiasmatic nucleus (SCN) and supramarginal gyrus (SMG). ALFF in the oSFG and FC of rSCN-SMG were negatively correlated with MEQ scores.

Some people's chronotypes information is missing.

Patients with DMV tended to be evening type and exhibited abnormal brain functions in frontal lobes. The synergistic changes between frontotemporal lobe, SCN-SMG maybe the characteristic of patients with DMV symptoms.

Lack of parental raising is an important reason for parental loss in China due to urbanization. We aimed to explore the association between parental loss (including parental death, divorce, alcoholism, crime, drug addiction, bedridden, and lack of parental raising) before 17 years old and mental health disorders in adulthood in Southwest China.

Childhood parental loss, age, gender, socioeconomic status, smoking, drinking, and medical history were self-reported. Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (PHQ-9) and Generalized Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD-7) were used for identifying depression and anxiety, respectively. We use logistic regression with inverse probability weighting according to the propensity score to assess the risk of childhood parental loss on mental health disorders in adulthood.

A total of 8014 adults were enrolled in this study. Childhood parental loss increased the risk of adulthood depression (OR, 1.60, 95%CI, 1.30-1.98) but not anxiety (p=0.07) after adjustment of all covariates. Sensitivity analyses including logistic regression with original data, nearest neighbor matching, full matching, and propensity score as the only covariate all yielded similar results.

Recall bias could not be fully eliminated due to the retrospective nature of study design. Our study had been conducted in a less-prosperousarea in Southwest China and the results may not be representative at nation level.

Childhood parental loss was associated with depression in adulthood in Southwest China, highlighting the need for early intervention in children with parental loss, to prevent long-term negative effects on their mental health.

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic has been a continuous global threat since the first identification of the disease in December 2019. COVID-19 vaccination is a crucial preventive approach that can halt this pandemic. However, many factors affect the willingness of the public to be vaccinated against COVID-19 at the early stage of the vaccination programme. We used network analysis to investigate the interrelation of vaccination willingness and its associated factors.

A population-representative sample of 539 Chinese adults completed a battery of online self-assessments, including those on vaccination willingness, health status, attitude towards vaccines, COVID-19-related psychological elements and other variables. Network analysis was performed using the R qgraph package.

In total, 445 (82.6%) participants scored high on their willingness to vaccinate. Attitude towards vaccines, the influence of people around an individual and health status were directly significantly related to vaccination wiandemic which is very important for promoting vaccination programs.

Research on perinatal mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic has largely focused on data from community samples. This study sought to understand the experiences of pregnant and postpartum women with histories of clinically elevated symptoms of depression.

Participants included 60 perinatal women who participated in wellness intervention trials for women with antenatal depression. We used a mixed methods approach, assessing depression, anxiety, stressors and coping behaviors, along with narrative responses to questions regarding COVID-specific effects on mental health.

Over three-fourths of the sample indicated a worsening of mental health during the pandemic, with 31.7% of women endorsing clinically elevated depression symptoms and 36.7% screening positive for anxiety. Women reported negative impacts on their emotional wellbeing, especially a resurgence of mental health symptoms. Participants also articulated positive experiences during the pandemic, including an appreciation for increased time with that were utilized, including wellness-based behaviors, may have helped to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 related stress.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Asexual (LGBTQA+) youth have a greater chance of experiencing stressful life events when compared to cisgender heterosexual peers, which can lead to mental health problems. We aimed to estimate the prevalence of mental disorders among LGBTQA+ youths from two large cities in Brazil.

Participants were 13-22 years old youths from the 3rd wave of the Brazilian High-Risk Cohort for Psychiatric Disorders (n=1475). Mental disorders were assessed using the Development and Well-Being Behavior Assessment. Sexual orientation and gender identity were assessed using a self-report confidential questionnaire. Data were analyzed through logistic regressions (adjusting for sociodemographic) using sampling weights to account for attrition and our oversampling high-risk design.

15.18% of the sample described themselves as LGBTQA+. MCC950 nmr The LGBTQA+ group presented higher rates of anxiety disorders (30.14% vs. 13.37%; OR=3.37; 95%CI2.51-4.50), depressive disorders (27.75% vs. 15.34mulation and support actions to mitigate the suffering related to sexual orientation and gender identity.

Bipolar disorder (BD) is characterized by mood changes that implies alterations in reward sensitivity and frustration tolerance. This study examined the effects of monetary reward and frustration on attentional performance and on affective experience across mood states in BD.

An Affective Posner Task in which the nature of contingencies are divided in the three successive blocks (baseline condition, monetary reward and non-contingent feedback) was applied to BD individuals in their different episodes mania (n=30), depression (n=30), and euthymia (n= 30) as well as to a group of healthy controls (n=30).

Monetary reward improved performance (in terms of faster response times) in the euthymic group and the control group, whereas it impaired performance in the manic group and has not significant effect in the depressed group. In addition, an increased interference of frustration on response accuracy was exhibited in the three groups of BD patients (including euthymia) compared with healthy controls.

Participants' affective experience was self-informed by a Likert scale, so the reliability of this measure can be undermined in symptomatic patients in terms of stability and objectivity. Although it was statistically controlled, at the time of testing, all BD patients were medicated.

A dissociated effect of reward and frustration was found between symptomatic and euthymic states in BD whereas the benefit from monetary reward is affected only during symptomatic episodes (i.e., a state), the notably increased interference of frustration is exhibited also during euthymia (i.e., a trait).

Research has suggested a potential link between social media use and psychological distress, though findings have been somewhat inconsistent. Importantly, relatively few studies have examined potential moderators of this relationship, and the majority have relied upon self-report social media use. The present study examined the potential moderating role of attention control, in the relationship between social media use and anxiety and employed an objective measure of social media use via smartphone data.

Social media use was captured via participants smartphones over a one-week period. Inhibitory attention control was assessed via antisaccade task performance. In addition to a measure of psychological distress that was completed by participants (final n=69, female=35, male=31, did not specify=3).

Attention control, as indexed via total antisaccade accuracy, moderated the relationship between social media use and psychological distress. This relationship was such that those with lower levels of attention control showed a significant positive relationship between social media use and psychological distress, whereas no relationship was observed among those with average or high attention control.

While capturing objective mobile social media data, future research could also benefit from incorporating usage data from computers and other devices.

The findings of this study highlight a potential important factor that may alter the impact of social media use on emotional wellbeing. One possible implication of this finding is that heavy social media use may have problematic mental health consequences specifically for those who experience difficulties with attention control.

Pediatric bipolar disorder (PBD) has been the focus of increased attention. To date, in Portugal, there is no evidence available for PBD-related hospitalization rates. link2 This study aimed to describe and characterize all pediatric hospitalizations with a primary diagnosis of bipolar disorder (BD) registered in Portugal from 2000 to 2015.

A retrospective observational study was conducted. Pediatric (<18 years) inpatient episodes with a primary diagnosis of BD were selected from a national administrative database. The ICD-9-CM codes 296.x (excluding 296.2x, 296.3x and 296.9x) identified the diagnosis of interest. Additionally, age at discharge, sex, psychiatric comorbidities, length of stay (LoS), admission type and date, in-hospital mortality and hospital charges were analyzed.

A total of 348 hospitalizations, representing 258 patients, were identified. The overall population-based rate of hospitalizations was 1.18/100 000 youths. A non-linear increase throughout the study period was found. Patients were.

Bipolar disorders (BD) are serious mental health disorders that impacts on cognitive and social functioning. We aimed to systematically review and conduct a meta-analysis of fMRI correlates of working memory in euthymic people with BD compared to healthy participants.

Web of Science, Embase and PubMed databases were systematically searched to identify studies which examined the fMRI correlates of working memory function in euthymic people with BD and healthy participants. link3 Relevant demographic, behavioral and functional MRI (fMRI) data was qualitatively and quantitatively assessed, and the quality of the included studies evaluated. Comparable studies which used the same working memory task were included in a meta-analysis using Seed-Based D Mapping software (SDM).

Twenty-four studies were included in this systematic review. Consistent brain fMRI activity differences were found in key brain areas of the working memory network in euthymic people with BD compared to healthy participants including the ventromedial and dorsolateral prefrontal cortices.
