A profound understanding of the metabolic reprogramming of BC cells and immune cells in the TME will offer novel opportunities for targeted therapies in future.A new coronavirus pandemic, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2], has been on the rise. This virus is fatal for broad groups of populations, including elderly, men, and patients with comorbidities among which obesity is a possible risk factor. The pathophysiologic connections between obesity/metainflammation and COVID-19 may be directly related to increasing soluble ACE2 (angiotensin-converting enzyme 2] levels which potentiates the viral entrance into the host cells, or indirectly related to dysregulation of immune system, microvascular injury and hypercoagulability. The SARS-CoV-2 S-glycoprotein interacts mainly with ACE2 or possibly DDP4 receptors to enter into the host cells. The host proteases, especially TMPRSS2 (transmembrane protease serine 2], support the fusion process and virus entry. While membranous ACE2 is considered a port of entry to the cell for SARS-CoV-2, it seems that soluble ACE2 retains its virus binding capability and enhances its entry into the cells. Interestingly, ACE2 on cell membrane may have protective roles by diminishing cytokine storm-related injuries to the organs. Applying medications that can reduce soluble ACE2 levels, antagonizing TMPRSS2 or blocking DDP4 can improve the outcomes of COVID-19. Metformin and statins through immunomodulatory activities, Orlistat by reducing viral replication, and thiazolidinediones by upregulating ACE2 expression have potential beneficial effects against COVID-19. However, the combination of dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DDP4] inhibitors and spironolactone/eplerenone seems to be more effective by reducing soluble ACE2 level, antagonizing TMPRSS2, maintaining ACE2 on cell membrane and reducing risk of viral entry into the cells.
The discharge from hospital of insulin-treated hyperglycemic patients is always challenging. This is even more so in patients requiring glucocorticoid treatment, such as those with COVID-19.
A retrospective monocentric study of 23 inpatients with newly diagnosed or already known diabetes mellitus (DM) who were naïve to insulin treatment, , and who were hospitalized with COVID-19 in non-critical settings and then discharged. Patients were followed-up for one month after discharge for the management of insulin treatment by a multi-professional team through phone consultations.
Insulin prescriptions at discharge were 24.6 ± 14 U/day injected in 2 ± 1.5 daily shots. A mean of three phone consultations were required. One month later, the mean insulin reduction was 1.5 ± 1.3 shots and 6 ± 5 U/day. All patients reached their glycemic target without hypoglycemic events, drop-outs, or readmissions.
This study demonstrates the feasibility, efficacy, and safety of a multi-professional approach through telemedicine for managing DM patients after discharge during COVID-19.

Various risk factors have been attributed to this disease pathogenesis, including metabolic disorders, immune response, and even an intricate relationship between the two. The role of insulin resistance (IR) in NAFLD has long been known; however, the molecular basis of disease progression under this metabolic backdrop is still being investigated. Similarly, the periodontitis-mediated immune response is another major factor involved in NAFLD manifestation, which has generated huge interest. The prevalence of pathogenic bacteria elicits a strong immune response, which according to the studies shows a strong correlation with NAFLD state. Such pre-existing conditions have a strong probability of explaining the disease onset. Additionally, increasing reports on inflammatory response and its links to insulin resistance have further increased the scope of understanding NAFLD. Through this review, we aim to elaborate on these factors explaining their role in the disease progression.
In most communities, the risk of developing breast cancer is increasing. By affecting the cyclooxygenase 1 and 2 (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes and actin filaments, acetylsalicylic acid (Aspirin) has been shown to reduce the risk of breast cancer and prevent cell migration in both laboratory and clinical studies.
The purpose of this study is to determine the mechanical properties of normal and cancerous breast tissue cells, as well as the short-term effect of aspirin on cancer cells. To this end, the mechanical properties and deformation of three cell types were investigated healthy MCF-10 breast cells, MCF-7 breast cancer cells, and MCF-7 breast cancer cells treated with a 5 μM aspirin solution. Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM) was used to determine the mechanical properties of the cells. Cell deformation was analyzed in all groups, and Young's modulus was calculated using the Hertz model.
According to the obtained data, cancer cells deformed at a rate half that of healthy cells. Nonetheless, when aspirin was used, cancer cells deformed similarly to healthy cells. Additionally, healthy cells' Young's modulus was calculated to be approximately three times that of cancer cells, which was placed closer to that of healthy cells by adding aspirin to Young's modulus.
Cell strength appears to have increased due to aspirin's intervention on actin filaments and cytoskeletons, and the mechanical properties of breast cancer cells have become more similar to those of normal cells. The likelihood of cell migration and metastasis decreases as cell strength increases.

Older adults who have poor health, such as those in personal conditions motivate them to remain active and productive, both at home and in geriatric homes, they need a combination of advanced methods of visual monitoring, optimization, pattern recognition and learning, that provide safe and comfortable environments and that once serve as a tool to facilitate the work of family members and workers. It should be noted that this also seeks to recreate a technology that gives these adults autonomy in indoor environments.

The objective of the study is to determine the role of Lateral Pterygoid Muscle LPM in the articular disc displacement ADD, which is considered controversial due to the variations in the pattern of insertion of the Superior Lateral Pterygoid Muscle SPLM.
It is well understood that the superior head of the lateral pterygoid muscle has only a single insertion pattern among individuals, in which the muscle is attached to the articular disc and capsule. However, recent findings in many studies have shown a noticeable variation in the insertion pattern of the upper LPM.
MRI examinations were collected at King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Scans of 61 patients (41 females, 20 males; mean age 33 years old) with symptoms of temporomandibular dysfunction were reviewed retrospectively. The direction of their articular disc displacement was evaluated through sagittal and coronal views in both open and closed mouth positions.
There was no statistical significance found between the LPM attachment types and TMJ disc position. The chi-square test also showed no significant difference between the type of LPM attachment and the condylar location. Forty-five percent of the articular discs were located between the articular eminence and the glenoid fossa. The majority of the disc displacement was in the anterior direction.
There was no statistically significant association found between the type of LPM attachments and the direction of disc displacement.

A series of new pyrimidines and thiazoles containing camphor moiety were synthesized under both conventional and microwave irradiation techniques.
The condensation of camphor either with aminoguanidine or thiosemicarbazide gives the camphor hydrazine carboximidiamide 2 and the camphor thiosemicarbazone 3, respectively. Refluxing of 3 with chloroacetonitrile afforded the camphor thiazol-4-imine 4. Compounds 2 and 4 were used as precursors for the synthesis of target products.
The reaction of 2 with different species such as arylidene malononitrile, acetylacetone, and ethyl acetoacetate gave the corresponding camphor pyrimidine derivatives 5a,b-7 while refluxing of compound 4 with different reagents e.g. aldehydes, isatin, ninhydrin, acetic anhydride, benzene sulphonyl chloride, and p-nitro-benzoyl chloride afforded the camphor thiazole derivatives 8a-d-13, respectively.

This review aimed to gather data from research that studied the mechanisms involved in the immunological protection induced by the BCG vaccine, which may be important in the control of viral infections, such as COVID-19. Through a literature review, we compiled information about the different BCG strains used worldwide, as well as the responses and protection elicited by them. We commented on the mechanisms of immune response to Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), and we discussed the possibility of cross-protection of different BCG strains on the control of COVID-19. Due to the immunomodulatory properties of BCG, some BCG strains were able to induce an effective cellular immune response and, through epigenetic modifications, activate cells of the innate immune system, such as monocytes, macrophages and natural killer cells, which are crucial for the control of viral infections.
