The present study aimed to examine the moderating role of the quality of the relationship between children and their teachers (i.e., closeness and conflict), in children's unsociability and play behaviors (i.e., reticent behavior, social play). Participants were 211 three- to six-year-old children (M = 64.08 months, SD = 10.92, 94 girls, 117 boys). Mothers reported their unsociability; teachers reported teacher-child relationships and children's play behaviors. Results showed that close teacher-child relationships moderated the association between unsociability and social play in children (buffering effect). Teacher-child conflict exacerbated the relations between unsociability and reticent behavior. Findings show that teacher-child closeness is effective in revealing social play behaviors of unsociable children. Teachers can improve their relationship with unsociable children to provide nurturing social play behavior.Harsh weather patterns that are unpredictable owing to climate change, remoteness, dependence on food imports and limited local food production place Arctic and Subarctic food systems under serious pressure. The model of food sovereignty provides a surprisingly interesting contribution to address the food insecurity in these regions; it promotes long-term stable provision of healthy foods (sustainable) that are accessible to all (equity) and fosters local food production-consumption patterns (localisation). OS pathogenesis has been proved to be closely associated with immune imbalance, and follicular helper T cells (Tfh) significantly affect host humoral immune homeostasis. However, there are few reports on the effect of Tfh cell activation on the prognosis of OS patients. Hence, this investigation on the changes in the proportion of peripheral blood Tfh cells in OS patients, and the relationship between their activity level and OS prognosis. We collected peripheral blood from patients with OS, benign bone tumor (BT group) and healthy subjects (Healthy group), respectively. The number of CD4+CXCR5+ Tfh cell in peripheral blood was measured by flow cytometry and correlation analysis between its activity and OS clinicopathological characteristics was carried out. The data showed that in comparison with the BT and Healthy groups, higher proportion and activation level of peripheral blood CD4+CXCR5+ Tfh cells in CD4+ T cells were found in the OS group. In OS patients, increases of the proportion and activity level of Tfh cells were associated with poorly differentiated OS and tumor metastasis. Additionally, Kaplan-Meier and Cox regression analysis showed a longer overall survival in patients with low proportion of peripheral blood CD4+CXCR5+ Tfh cells in CD4+ T cells, and their activation level may be a prognostic factor in OS patients. In conclusion, peripheral blood CD4+CXCR5+ Tfh cell activation in OS patients was associated with a poor prognosis. This study provided ideas for improving the clinical treatment of OS patients.This study investigated the function of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) cytoskeleton regulator RNA (CYTOR) in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In HCC, the expression of CYTOR and microRNA (miR)-125a-5p were measured by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). The expression of actin skeletal protein 1 (LASP1) was evaluated by Western blot analysis. Flow cytometry assays, transwell assays, colony formation assay, and cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay were used to evaluate the roles of miR-125a-5p and CYTOR in HCC cells. The target genes of CYTOR and miR-125a-5p were identified by bioinformatics analysis and Luciferase assay. CYTOR was upregulated in HCC cell lines, and knockdown of CYTOR inhibited HCC cell growth. MiR-125a-5p was downregulated in HCC cells and a target of CYTOR in regulating HCC progression. Furthermore, LASP1 was a downstream target of miR-125a-5p. Finally, CYTOR was found to be involved in HCC progression in vivo. CYTOR promotes HCC development by regulating the miR-125a-5p/LASP1 axis.The critical roles of lncRNAs in drug resistance of malignancies have been widely recognized. This investigation aims to study the function of lncRNA PCAT6 in the resistance of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) to gefitinib. In our study, we demonstrated that prostate cancer-associated transcript 6 (PCAT6) was upregulated in gefitinib-resistant NSCLC. PCAT6 knockdown inhibited gefitinib resistance of NSCLC, as indicated by decreased IC50 value, proliferation, and metastasis, and increased cell apoptosis. Besides, PCAT6 could directly target miR-326 in gefitinib-resistant NSCLC cells and augment NSCLC resistance to gefitinib by serving as ceRNA of miR-326. Furthermore, interferon-alpha receptor 2 (IFNAR2) was validated as a downstream target of miR-326 and miR-326 reduced resistance to gefitinib by inhibiting IFNAR2 expression. Although Pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB) is curable, immunological responses to the infection induce several hematological derangements. This study evaluated the effect of PTB on natural anticoagulant activity and CBC indices. Ninety adults were recruited 60 PTB patients and 30 non-TB controls. Blood specimens from each participant was tested for Proteins C and S, Antithrombin-III and CBC. Pulmonary TB was associated with significantly reduced Protein C activity (101.46 [87.61-128.3] vs 121.44 [99.50-149.8] IU/L, p= 0.038), RBC (p less then 0.0001), HgB (p= 0.0019), HCT (p less then 0.0001), MCV (p= 0.0133) and PDW (p less then 0.0001) compared to controls. Conversely, PTB patients were associated with significantly increased MCH (p= 0.0086), TWBC (p= 0.0047), Abs. GRAN (p= 0.0226), RDW-CV (p less then 0.0001), MCHC (p less then 0.0001) and MPV (p= 0.0027) compared to controls. The PTB patients were disproportionately affected with anemia (91.7%, p= 0.001), erythrocytopenia (75.0%, p≤ 0.001) and reduced HCT (80.0%, p≤ 0.001). The frequency of thrombocytosis, leucocytosis, and granulocytosis (50.0%, p= 0.013; 23.3%, p= 0.013; 18.3%, p= 0.025; respectively) in PTB patients were significantly higher than in controls. PTB predisposes to hypercoagulability and causes derangements in erythrocytes, leucocytes, and thrombocytes, and disproportionately causes anemia. Measurement of Protein C activity and CBC indices are useful in the management of PTB patients.The objectives of this study were to first determine whether a newly designed 3D-printed midsole, configured with a mechanism to increase anterior-posterior deformation, could increase anterior midsole shear during the stance phase of running. We then wanted to determine whether these shoes could affect running economy and smoothness. Two footwear conditions, differing in midsole technology, were used in this study. The control condition consisted of a thermoplastic polyurethane midsole (TPU-Control), whereas the prototype shoes (3D-Shear) were constructed with a 3D-printed lattice midsole designed for greater anterior foot displacement during early to mid-stance. Twenty male participants ran on a treadmill for 6 min in each condition, and data were collected during the final 2 min. Midsole shear was measured using 3D kinematic data; running smoothness was quantified with peak acceleration and jerk magnitudes from the foot, sacrum, and head; and running economy was determined with oxygen consumption data. As hypothesised, the anterior midsole shear was greater in the 3D-Shear condition compared to the TPU-Control. The 3D-Shear did not improve running economy. Runners exhibited significantly lower peak accelerations at the sacrum, along with lower magnitudes of jerk at the foot, sacrum, and head in the 3D-Shear condition, indicating smoother running patterns.Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is still one of the most challenging malignant tumors. Deregulation of circular RNAs (circRNAs) is associated with NSCLC progression. However, the regulatory mechanism of circRNAs in NSCLC still needs to be studied. We selected a differentially expressed hsa_circ_0006677 (circ_0006677) in NSCLC through analyzing the GSE158695 and GSE112214 datasets. Animal experiments were carried out to validate the function of circ_0006677 in vivo. We observed the downregulation of circ_0006677 in NSCLC samples and cells. Functionally, circ_0006677 overexpression decreased xenograft tumor growth and restrained NSCLC cell proliferation, invasion, migration, stemness, and induced NSCLC cell apoptosis in vitro.
