To evaluate the effectiveness of training on knowledge and practice of infection prevention and control (IPC) among pediatric health care workers (HCW) in Shanghai, China, in the context of COVID-19 pandemic.

An online training program was designed by the Shanghai Pediatric Clinical Quality Control Center (SPQCC) during the early phase of COVID-19 pandemic on disease knowledge and practice of IPC. Training took place in the 81 partner hospitals affiliated with SPQCC. A multicenter, cross-sectional questionnaire survey was designed with a 25-item self-administered questionnaire to evaluate the knowledge gained from the training. Stratified-random sampling was used to select HCW according to three professionals (i.e., pediatricians, nurses and administrators) within each partner hospital. Awareness and knowledge of COVID-19 and its related infection control and practice were assessed by comparing survey results between different types of hospitals, professionals and professional ranks. Postoperative blood coagulation assessment of children with congenital heart disease (CHD) has been developed using a conventional statistical approach. In this study, the machine learning (ML) was used to predict postoperative blood coagulation function of children with CHD, and assess an array of ML models.

This was a retrospective and data mining study. Based on the samples of 1,690 children with CHD, and screening data based on demographic characteristics, conventional coagulation tests (CCTs) and complete blood count (CBC), with a precise data selection process, and the support of data mining and ML algorithms including Decision tree, Naive Bayes, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Adaptive Boost (AdaBoost) and Random Forest model, and explored the best prediction models of postoperative blood coagulation function for children with CHD by models performance measured in the area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC), calibration or Lift curves, and further verified the reliability oldren with CHD.

The aim of the study is to compare the Lich-Gregoir vesico-ureteral reimplantation in laparoscopy and open surgery.

In this case control study, we enrolled pediatric patients who were diagnosed with unilateral duplex kidney and had underwent surgical treatment. The surgical treatments were either conventional open surgery or laparoscopic surgery. We collected the basic demographic data and extracted the operative-related statistics such as operation time, blood loss, length of hospital stay, pain level, and post-operative complications. The infection rate of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) in children was less than that in adults. However, the underlining reason is not well known.

The confirmed coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), have exceeded 21 million (with more than 775,000 fatalities), and the number of children with COVID-19 is also increasing. This study aimed to summarize the chest imaging characteristics of pediatric COVID-19 cases and provide a reference for the diagnosis and control of pediatric COVID-19.
