An indirect effect of weight stigmatization on suicide risk through emotional dysregulation emerged. Higher weight stigmatization was associated with higher emotional dysregulation, which was associated with higher suicide risk. When all models were combined, only an indirect effect via perceived burdensomeness remained. Our findings may have clinical and public health implications for suicide prevention among people with weight stigma-related risk factors.Brazilian women are known to present high levels of physical appearance concerns, and data suggest they often compare themselves with others. Nevertheless, there is no validated instrument to systematically assess appearance comparisons in the Brazilian population. Thus, this study aimed to translate the Physical Appearance Comparison Scale-Revised (PACS-R) into Brazilian Portuguese and evaluate its factor structure, internal consistency, and convergent validity in Brazilian college women. The translated version into Brazilian Portuguese of the PACS-R was completed by 832 Brazilian college women and its factor structure was examined through exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, internal consistency through McDonald's omega, and convergent validity through its associations with measures of eating disorder symptoms, internalization of appearance ideals, appearance-related sociocultural pressures, body satisfaction, and self-esteem. The results suggested an 11-item single-factor scale. LDC7559 The Brazilian Portuguese PACS-R showed adequate internal consistency and was significantly associated with all measures of convergent validity in the expected direction, indicating its adequate convergent validity. The Brazilian Portuguese PACS-R might be useful in the investigation of the appearance comparison among women in Brazil, as also in the study of body image and eating disorders. There has been a surge in "quarantine15" social media posts during the self-isolation and lockdowns associated with the COVID-19 global pandemic. Given the influence of other body and weight-centered social media content (e.g., Fitspiration, Fatspiration) on body image and weight stigmatizing thoughts and attitudes, characterizing the features of quarantine15 content is an imperative first step towards understanding its impact on those who view it. Therefore, the present study is a content analysis of quarantine15 content on Instagram. A total of 668 posts were sampled using the hashtag quarantine15, and systematically analyzed for features related to positive and negative body image, as well as weight stigma. The results showed that the posts containing human figures (57.5 %) showcased individuals who were perceived as lower-weight (88.8 %), White (70.3 %), and women (87 %). Approximately one-third (34.4 %) of the images containing individuals were considered objectifying. Posts also perpetuated the controllability of weight through diet (51.5 %) and physical activity (27.5 %), while 46.9 % expressed dislike towards higher-weight bodies. Future experimental research in this area will be important for understanding both the acute and long-term effects of viewing quarantine15 content on body image, weight stigmatizing attitudes and thoughts, and internalized weight stigma.Mono- and few-layer MoS2 were studied by three-dimensional electron diffraction (3D ED) showing distinctly different symmetry for crystals consisting of odd and even number of layers. Experimentally obtained intensity distributions along the relrods match qualitatively kinematically simulated data. Our findings allow to differentiate unambiguously between 1-, 2-, 3- 4- and 5-layers MoS2 crystals. The Embp protein of Staphylococcus epidermidis inhibits the hemagglutination of the H1N1 influenza virus and protects birds from a viral respiratory infection. Several species of Coagulase-negative Staphylococcus (CoNS) are present in the respiratory cavity, particularly in nostrils. We hypothesize that non-epidermidis CoNS found in animals can have the same function as observed in S. epidermidis. Thirty Non-epidermidis CoNS isolates were obtained from poultry, sheep, goat, pig, and dairy cow nostrils. Haemagglutination inhibition (HI) activity was assayed in bacteria-free supernatants from non-epidermidis CoNS against Newcastle disease virus (NDV) and bovine parainfluenza virus type 3 (BPIV). In 13 of the 30 strains (43.3 %), bacteria-free supernatants showed HI activity for NDV and BPIV-3. Staphylococcus xylosus supernatants from poultry (one isolate), sheep (two isolates), goat (one isolate), and dairy cow (three isolates) had the highest frequency of HI activity on NDV and BPIV-3, followed by Staphylococcus sp. supernatants from goat (one isolate), dairy cow (two isolates), and finally Staphylococcus equorum, Staphylococcus chromogens and Staphylococcus gallinarum supernatants with single isolation from poultry, pig and poultry, respectively. Nine isolates had the homologous gene to the embp gene of S. epidermidis, and it was associated with HI activity in the studied viruses. By Pulsed-field gel electrophoresis, S. xylosus isolates showed to be different clones and related to the origin of isolation and HI activity. These results demonstrate that non-epidermidis CoNS supernatants from different animals and origins have the ability of HI on NDV and BPIV-3, indicating that not only S. epidermidis has the same function. In this study, polyethylene microplastics were artificially photoaged by xenon light. Experiments were then performed with methylene blue (MB) dye to compare the changes in the structure, properties, and adsorption-desorption behaviors of the aged and virgin polyethylene microplastics. The results showed that the aged polyethylene microplastics were hydrophilic with oxygen-containing functional groups, which enhanced the adsorption capacity of polyethylene for MB from 0.63 mg·g-1 to 8.12 mg·g-1. The adsorption isotherms changed from the Henry model (virgin polyethylene microplastics) to the Langmuir model (aged polyethylene microplastics), indicating that the partitioning function was gradually replaced by a single-layer covering during the adsorption process. In addition, 7% and 17.8% of the MB loaded onto the aged polyethylene microplastics was desorbed into water and a simulated intestinal fluid, respectively. These findings reveal that aged polyethylene microplastics can accumulate MB, thus posing potential risks to aqueous environments and biological tissues.
