HCKs in the printed corneas showed expression for fibronectin and actin green. In conclusion, high-throughput fabrication of 3D printed corneal stromal equivalents using a combination of stereolithography printing, extrusion based printing, and micro-transfer molding techniques was achieved.Visualizing massive scale human movement in cities plays an important role in solving many of the problems that modern cities face (e.g., traffic optimization, business site configuration). In this work, we study a big mobile location dataset that covers millions of city residents, but is temporally sparse on the trajectory of individual user. Mapping sparse trajectories to illustrate population movement poses several challenges from both analysis and visualization perspectives. In the literature, there are a few techniques designed for sparse trajectory visualization; yet they do not consider trajectories collected from mobile apps that possess long-tailed sparsity with record intervals as long as hours. This work introduces UrbanMotion, a visual analytics system that extends the original wind map design by supporting map-matched local movements, multi-directional population flows, and population distributions. Effective methods are proposed to extract and aggregate population movements from dense parts of the trajectories leveraging their long-tailed sparsity. Both characteristic and anomalous patterns are discovered and visualized. We conducted three case studies, one comparative experiment, and collected expert feedback in the application domains of commuting analysis, event detection, and business site configuration. The result demonstrates significance and effectiveness of our system in completing key analytics tasks for urban users.Decidual macrophages are in close contact with trophoblast cells during placenta development, and an appropriate crosstalk between these cellular compartments is crucial for the establishment and maintenance of a healthy pregnancy. During different phases of gestation, macrophages undergo dynamic changes to adjust to the different stages of fetal development. Trophoblast-secreted factors are considered the main modulators responsible for macrophage differentiation and function. However, the phenotype of these macrophages induced by trophoblast-secreted factors and the factors responsible for their polarization has not been elucidated. In this study, we characterized the phenotype and function of human trophoblast-induced macrophages. Using in vitro models, we found that human trophoblast-educated macrophages were CD14+ CD206+ CD86- and presented an unusual transcriptional profile in response to TLR4/LPS activation characterized by the expression of type I IFN-β expression. IFN-β further enhances the constitutive production of soluble programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) from trophoblast cells. GSK-3 activity PD-1 blockage inhibited trophoblast-induced macrophage differentiation. Soluble PD-L1 (sPD-L1) was detected in the blood of pregnant women and increased throughout the gestation. Collectively, our data suggest the existence of a regulatory circuit at the maternal fetal interface wherein IFN-β promotes sPD-L1 expression/secretion by trophoblast cells, which can then initiate a PD-L1/PD-1-mediated macrophage polarization toward an M2 phenotype, consequently decreasing inflammation. Macrophages then maintain the expression of sPD-L1 by the trophoblasts through IFN-β production induced through TLR4 ligation.Virtual reality (VR) holds tremendous potential to advance our society, expected to make impact on quality of life, energy conservation, and the economy. To bring us closer to this vision, the present paper investigates a novel communications system that integrates for the first time scalable multi-layer 360° video tiling, viewport-adaptive rate-distortion optimal resource allocation, and VR-centric edge computing and caching, to enable next generation high-quality untethered VR streaming. Our system comprises a collection of 5G small cells that can pool their communication, computing, and storage resources to collectively deliver scalable 360° video content to mobile VR clients at much higher quality. The major contributions of the paper are the rigorous design of multi-layer 360° tiling and related models of statistical user navigation, analysis and optimization of edge-based multi-user VR streaming that integrates viewport adaptation and server cooperation, and base station 360° video packet scheduling. We also explore the possibility of network coded data operation and its implications for the analysis, optimization, and system performance we pursue in this setting. The advances introduced by our framework over the state-of-theart comprise considerable gains in delivered immersion fidelity, featuring much higher 360° viewport peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) and VR video frame rates and spatial resolutions. Objective Probiotics have been hypothesized to mediate inflammation through gut microbiome modulation. Spondyloarthropathies have subclinical gut inflammation associated with inflammatory disease that may benefit from probiotic use. We aimed to evaluate associations between probiotic use and patient-reported outcomes in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA). Methods Using FORWARD, The National Databank for Rheumatic Diseases, we examined probiotic use among patients with PsA and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), a comparator in which gut inflammation is less clearly related to pathogenesis. Patient-reported outcome measures such as pain and physical function were compared for probiotic users and nonusers among patients with PsA and RA. Patients were propensity score-matched for taking a probiotic by demographics and nonmedication supplements. Results More patients have reported probiotic use over the past decade, with less than 1% reporting use in 2008 and approximately 7% in 2018. Probiotic users are more likely to be white women with higher education, income, and supplement use. Following propensity score matching, probiotic users with PsA had significantly lower Short Form 36 Physical Component Summary (SF-36 PCS) scores and higher pain scores than nonusers with PsA (33.11 ± 11.50 vs. 40.82 ± 11.03; P = 0.04 and 4.78 ± 3.09 vs. 3.00 ± 2.58; P = 0.03). There were no significant differences in Patient Activity Scale II, Health Assessment Questionnaire II, SF-36 PCS, and Short Form 36 Mental Component Summary scores or pain among users with PsA before and after probiotic initiation. Conclusion We found increasing probiotic use in patients with PsA and important differences between users and nonusers. After accounting for these differences, we found no statistical difference in health outcomes after probiotic use.
