lusters in shaping clinical outcomes of heart failure. The findings highlighted the importance of integrating care to minimize the disease impact on psycho-cognitive function and weary symptoms among this clinical cohort. The review also inform the direction on how to advance the knowledge on symptom clusters among this clinical cohort.Empathy among this generation of students appears to be drastically lower than previous generations. Mental health empathy is inversely related to mental health stigma, and stigma persists as the most significant barrier to help-seeking among this population. Research suggests that pop songs that reference mental health difficulties may help to increase mental health empathy. This paper reports on an experimental test of music lyric and lyric video effects, comparing the influence of exposure to a pop song and lyric video with anxiety-themed lyrics, a pop song and lyric video without any mental health-themed lyrics, and a pop song instrumental and lyric video with no lyrics on female college students' involvement - perceived personal connection - with the song and their peer mental health empathy. Results suggest that a single exposure to a pop song and visual lyric video with anxiety-themed lyrics can influence peer mental health empathy. Further, these findings indicate that song lyrics are a significant gateway to audience involvement in this context. This study's findings are valuable to mental health communication practitioners struggling to reach female youth as empathetic reactions are often necessary to encourage positive health behavior change in the context of stigmatized health conditions, such as mental health. This work proposed a novel double-engine powered paper photoelectrochemical (PEC) biosensor based on an anode-cathode cooperative amplification strategy and various signal enhancement mechanisms, which realized the monitoring of multiple miRNAs (such as miRNA-141 and miRNA-21). Specifically, C3N4 quantum dots (QDs) sensitized ZnO nanostars and BiOI nanospheres simultaneously to construct a composite photoelectric layer that amplified the original photocurrent of the photoanode and photocathode, respectively. Through the independent design and partition of a flexible paper chip to functionalize injection holes and electrode areas, the bipolar combination completed the secondary upgrade of signals, which also provided biological reaction sites for multitarget detection. With the synergistic participation of a three-dimensional (3D) DNA nanomachine and programmable CRISPR/Cas12a shearing tool, C3N4 QDs lost their attachment away from the electrode surface to quench the signal. Moreover, electrode zoning significantly reduced the spatial cross talk of related substances for multitarget detection, while the universal trans-cleavage capability of CRISPR/Cas12a simplified the operation. The designed PEC biosensor revealed excellent linear ranges for detection of miRNA-141 and miRNA-21, for which the detection limits were 5.5 and 3.4 fM, respectively. With prominent selectivity and sensitivity, the platform established an effective approach for trace multitarget monitoring in clinical applications, and its numerous pioneering attempts owned favorable reference values.Liposomal spherical nucleic acids possess a high density of nucleic acids, e.g., DNA, on a liposomal core. There are two approaches to conjugate DNA onto the zwitterionic liposomes, i.e., covalent and noncovalent conjugation, otherwise using cationic liposomes. However, complex and expensive DNA chemical modification methods need to seek a novel and easy-operating approach to decorating DNA onto liposomes. Inspired by the nanoparticle solution as nanoglues for gels and biological tissues, we use MnO2 nanosheets to "glue" DNA onto liposomes without DNA modification. In tumor cells with a high glutathione concentration, MnO2-based nanoglues are degraded, generating water-soluble Mn2+ ions, further "unglue" DNA (i.e., DNAzyme), and liposomes. Using the intelligent liposomal nanoglue (DNAzyme/MnO2/Lip) combining glutathione-sensitive MnO2 nanosheets, gene silencing agent DNAzyme, and photosensitizer Chlorin e6 (Ce6) in liposomes, effective photo-gene therapy was demonstrated.Cell-penetrating peptides cross cell membranes through various parallel internalization pathways. Herein, we analyze the role of the negatively charged lipid phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate (PI(4,5)P2) in the internalization of Penetratin. Contributions of both inner leaflet and outer leaflet pools of PI(4,5)P2 were revealed by quantifying the internalization of Penetratin in cells treated with PI(4,5)P2 binders. Studies on model systems showed that Penetratin has a strong affinity for PI(4,5)P2 and interacts selectively with this lipid, even in the presence of other negatively charged lipids, as demonstrated by affinity photo-crosslinking experiments. Differential scanning calorimetry experiments showed that Penetratin induces lateral segregation in PI(4,5)P2-containing liposomes, which was confirmed by coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations. NMR experiments indicated that Penetratin adopts a stabilized helical conformation in the presence of PI(4,5)P2-containing membranes, with an orientation parallel to the bilayer plane, which was also confirmed by all-atom simulations. NMR and photo-crosslinking experiments also suggest a rather shallow insertion of the peptide in the membrane. Put together, our findings suggest that PI(4,5)P2 is a privileged interaction partner for Penetratin and that it plays an important role in Penetratin internalization.Deep eutectic solvents have quickly attracted the attention of researchers because they better meet the requirements of green chemistry and thus have the potential to replace conventional hazardous organic solvents in some areas. To better understand the nature of these mixtures, as well as expand the possibilities of their use in different industries, a detailed examination of their physical properties, such as density, viscosity, the nature of the interactions between their constituents, the phase diagrams, depression of their melting point, and interpretation of these results is necessary. In this work, the mixtures of tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) and nonanoic acid (NA) in different molar ratios are theoretically and experimentally investigated by applying a phase diagram constructed on the basis of differential scanning calorimetry measurements and COSMO-RS model. Spectral properties are investigated based on Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and density functional theory. The observed eutectic point indicates the formation of a DES in the TBAB-NA system in a 12 molar ratio. This is due to the presence of hydrogen bonds between the carboxyl group from the NA molecule and the bromine atom from the TBAB molecule. Other eutectic mixtures are most likely the solutions of TBAB in NA, in which hydrogen bonds predominate between acid molecules. The author argues that the COVID‐19 pandemic caused members of the medical education community to reflect on their role and their norms, resulting in tensions between personal identity and organizational expectations. In humans, ageing is characterized by decreased brain signal variability and increased behavioral variability. To understand how reduced brain variability segregates with increased behavioral variability, we investigated the association between reaction time variability, evoked brain responses and ongoing brain signal dynamics, in young (N=36) and older adults (N=39). We studied the electroencephalogram (EEG) and pupil size fluctuations to characterize the cortical and arousal responses elicited by a cued go/no-go task. Evoked responses were strongly modulated by slow ( less then 2 Hz) fluctuations of the ongoing signals, which presented reduced power in the older participants. Although variability of the evoked responses was lower in the older participants, once we adjusted for the effect of the ongoing signal fluctuations, evoked responses were equally variable in both groups. Moreover, the modulation of the evoked responses caused by the ongoing signal fluctuations had no impact on reaction time, thereby explaining why although ongoing brain signal variability is decreased in older individuals, behavioral variability is not. Finally, we showed that adjusting for the effect of the ongoing signal was critical to unmask the link between neural responses and behavior as well as the link between task-related evoked EEG and pupil responses.Direct reductive carboxylation of easily prepared aryl vinyl ketones under the atmosphere of carbon dioxide led to the selective formation of γ-keto carboxylic acids in 38-86% yields. The reaction is characterized by the carbon-carbon bond formation of carbon dioxide at the β-position of enone, with the use of magnesium turnings that can be easily handled as the reducing agent and the eco-friendly reaction conditions such as no pressuring, no lower or higher reaction temperature, and short reaction time. This protocol showed a wide substrate scope and provided a useful and convenient alternative to access biologically important γ-keto carboxylic acids.Injectable and self-healing hydrogels with exemplary biocompatibility and tunable mechanical properties are urgently needed due to their significant advantages for tissue engineering applications. Here, we report a new temperature-responsive aldehyde hydrogel with dual physical-cross-linked networks and injectable and self-healing properties prepared from an ABA-type triblock copolymer, poly[FPMA(4-formylphenyl methacrylate)-co-DEGMA[di(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate]-b-MPC(2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine)-b-(FPMA-co-DEGMA). The thermoresponsive poly(DEGMA) segments drive the dehydration and hydrophobic interaction, enabling polymer chain winding as the first cross-linking network, when the temperature is raised above the critical gelation temperature. Meanwhile, the benzaldehyde groups offer physical interactions, including hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic and π-π stacking interactions as the second cross-linking network. When increasing the benzaldehyde content in the triblock copolymers from 0 to 8.2 mol %, the critical gelation temperature of the resulted hydrogels dropped from 35.5 to 19.9 °C and the mechanical modulus increased from 21 to 1411 Pa. Owing to the physical-cross-linked networks, the hydrogel demonstrated excellent injectability and self-healing properties. The cell viabilities tested from MTT assays toward both normal lung fibroblast cells (MRC-5) and cancerous cervical (HeLa) cells were found to be 100 and 101%, respectively, for varying polymer concentrations up to 1 mg/mL. The 3D cell encapsulation of the hydrogels was evaluated by a cytotoxicity Live/Dead assay, showing 92% cell viability. With these attractive physiochemical and biological properties, this temperature-responsive aldehyde hydrogel can be a promising candidate as a cell scaffold for tissue engineering.ProblemDiversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) trainings for medical school faculty often lack self-reflective and pedagogically focused components that may promote incorporation of anti-racism and social justice into medical school curricula. Intervention A four-session Narrative Medicine (NM) anti-racism program was designed for medical school faculty using critical race theory, phenomenology, and NM methods. Each workshop consisted of a lecture on key NM concepts and a small-group breakout session incorporating group discussion, close reading, and reflective writing. Context This NM anti-racism program was developed and implemented in April 2021 by two medical students for faculty at an institution in the southeastern U.S. The program was supported by the Office of Inclusive Excellence at the institution and held in collaboration with the institution's medical education teaching academy. 3,3cGAMP Program evaluation consisted of pre- and post-program surveys, which queried participants' previous experiences with DEI and medical humanities programs, perceptions of self-identity and privilege, and confidence in teaching concepts of anti-racism.
