Samsung Fridge Freezers With SmartThings

Samsung's Family Hub fridge combines a 389-litre fridge and the freezer, which is 225 litres. It's a large American model with a quality temperature control system as well as a host of clever features.

You can make it your own by removing panels to match your collection of matte black Rick Owens clothing and tie-dye Crocs.

All Round Cooling

Separate cooling circuits in fridges with All Round Cooing help keep your food fresher. Conventional fridges have a single evaporator that cools both the freezer and refrigerator compartment. This could result in your food drying out because the low-humidity atmosphere from your refrigerator is pumped into. This can make the food taste bland and unpleasant.

Each shelf is equipped with multiple vents for circulation of cool air. This helps to maintain a consistent temperature, even when you open and shut the fridge door.

Optimal Fresh Zone keeps meats and fish fresher for as long as twice as long as conventional fridges, without freezing them. This feature is a game-changer for those who love cooking, but hates the fuss of thawing frozen meats or fish.

All Round Cooling utilizes the cooling plate made of metal at the back of the fridge to retain the cold air and stop it from getting lost when you open the fridge door. It also reduces the requirement for power defrosting, which saves you time and money.

Samsung refrigerators have one of the best ice dispensers we've tested. Its patent-pending Twist Ice Maker dispenses large cubes with just a twist, and it can be kept in the drawer below when not being used. This allows for more space on the shelf and makes it easy to locate your favorite snacks and drinks.

You can choose which way your freezer and fridge open with Reversible Doors. This lets you easily integrate your fridge in the layout of your kitchen and keep your fridge tidy and neat.

Samsung's Family Hub is the central control of your SmartThings-connected home. It has a large touchscreen mounted on your refrigerator. It can display a live video feed from your smart doorbell, place orders for groceries in accordance with an automated inventory or suggest recipes that make use of the ingredients you have on hand.

Samsung refrigerators have drawers that flex at the bottom, which are an efficient storage solution. They make it easy to store larger items, such as pizza trays, and cans of drinks. They can be turned back when not in use and folded flat to make space. This is a great option for those who love to bake and cook and have a limited fridge space.

FlexZone

The Samsung FlexZone side by side fridge freezer has a unique 3-zone system that allows you to add an extra freezer drawer or refrigerator compartment. This flexibility allows you customize the fridge freezer to suit your storage needs and requirements. The FlexZone module lets you upgrade your fridge to a bigger or smaller size by adding an additional FlexZone.

The elegant design of the fridge will complement any kitchen decor. Its stainless-steel finish is durable and elegant. Plus, it is coated with an anti-fingerprint to keep the surface of the appliance looking fresh. The fridge also has an extra water and ice dispensers for additional convenience.

It's a nice-looking fridge that has a bottom-right FlexZone compartment that converts from refrigerator to freezer. This allows you to have more freezer space for items like ice cream, bags of frozen vegetables and meat or fish. It was a great performer in our tests too, but the lack of voice control and SmartThings integration on the 21.5-inch touchscreen felt like a missed opportunity.

There's plenty of room to store food items in the rest of the fridge with two drawers for crisps and a customizable middle FlexZone drawer. The latter lets you choose between five different settings for the fridge's freezer drawer, based on your needs. There is the freeze setting that is compatible with the freezer settings as well as a soft freeze setting for wine or deli tray, a meat or fish setting and an alcohol setting for snacks, drinks and frequently accessed items.

This Samsung FlexZone side-by-side refrigerator is an excellent option for families that want the convenience of having a fridge and freezer in one. samsung fridges 's not as spacious than the top-of-the-line French door models, but it offers a lot of useful features and is an excellent alternative for those with limited space in their kitchens.

The Samsung Fridge Freezer is also a very energy-efficient fridge due to its digital inverter technology. This technology regulates the temperature inside the fridge so that it doesn't fluctuate too much and keeps your food fresher for longer. Its energy efficiency has earned it the ENERGY STAR Certification.

SmartThings

SmartThings might not be as powerful as Alexa or Google Assistant however, you can still add a lot more smart devices to it. Samsung's TVs, phones, refrigerators, and tablets all come with SmartThings. That may be enough to make it worthwhile for some, especially when you own a variety of Samsung products.

The SmartThings application is very polished and well rounded It comes with a 'if you do x, then y' automation section that performs surprisingly well. You can set up things such as alarms that go off when sensors for water leaks detect the presence of a flood, or turn on the lights when your phone detects you're at home. It can even control your refrigerator by connecting it to a smart plug although we've seen mixed results with that.

SmartThings requires a hub which isn't cheap. Samsung offers a variety of options that include the SmartThings Station that you can connect to an existing router and use it as an nightlight. There's also a less expensive SmartThings Hub Dongle that supports Z-Wave and Zigbee, with Thread support to be added soon.

Once you have your smart fridge, smartphone and hub connected, it's really easy to use. SmartThings lets you control your refrigerator from anywhere. Notifications are sent to your phone when the refrigerator is closed or opened. You can set up schedules, change the temperature, and even set reminders.

SmartThings is a founding member of the Home Connectivity Alliance, which is working to make major appliances in the home from a variety of manufacturers interoperable. In the future you can control your Samsung washer/dryer, Electrolux oven, and LG TV using the same app.

While it's not as well used as Alexa or Google Assistant, SmartThings does have some major players on its roster which include Arlo, Nest, Belkin and Lifx. It's compatible with Matter protocol which allows for accessories to be linked regardless of brand. For most users, however, merged Alexa and Google Assistant voice controls is probably the best bet.

Family Hub

This fridge freezer is the most modern one you can find. It comes with an LCD display of 21 inches built into the door, and comes with a variety of clever features. You can access entertainment apps, make notes for family members (think a huge digital version of a notepad stuck to the fridge) and check for the weather and more, thanks to Samsung's own voice assistant, Bixby.

The touchscreen lets you manage recipes and food. You can add ingredients directly through an app and check out the contents of your fridge with internal cameras. You can also create a shopping list on the go and monitor foods to see when they'll expire. You can also use a recipe app to read the recipe while you cook.

This is the second generation of Family Hub fridges and Samsung says it's spent a year fine-tuning them based on customer feedback. One of the major changes is that you can now create different profiles for each member of your household so they can tailor the information and apps they have access to. It's not quite as great as having Alexa integration built into your refrigerator but it's an improvement over last year's model.

Family Hub is not only an app for managing your entertainment and food, but it also controls Samsung's SmartThings platform. It can be used to control Matter-compatible devices like lights and plugs as well as locks.

Samsung's refrigerator is a few years old and while it still offers a wide range of functions however, its touchscreen capabilities aren't a feature majority of people would consider a must-have. They're more of a fun and semi-frivolous accessory than anything else.

This could change as more software updates are released, but for the moment these models are ideally for those looking for the most comprehensive connected fridge they can get. You can save money by purchasing an appliance without the Family Hub if you're not one of these people. That might still be worth it in the event that you own a lot of smart home appliances that require control from the same screen, or if you simply enjoy the idea of having refrigerators with a huge touchscreen.
