Eucalyptus plantations around the world have been largely used by the paper industry. Optimizing the management of resources is a common practice in this highly competitive industry and new forest growth models may help to understand the impact of climate change on the decisions of the optimization processes. Current optimized management plans use empirical equations to predict future forest stands growth, and it is currently impractical to replace these empirical equations with physiological models due to data input requirements. In this paper, we present a different approach, by first carrying out a preliminary assessment with the process-based physiological model 3PG to evaluate the growth of Eucalyptus stands under climate change predictions. The information supplied by 3PG was then injected as a modifier in the projected yield that feeds the management plan optimizer allowing the interpretation of climate change impacts on the management plan. Modelling results show that although a general increase of raethodology may also be considered a preliminary alternative to the complete replacement of empirical models by physiological models. This study aimed to further delineate the role of NLRP3 in NASH development by abolishing its expression in mice. A high-fat and calorie diet plus high fructose and glucose in drinking water (HFCD-HF/G) was used to establish NASH in both wild-type (WT) and NLRP3 knock-out (KO) mice. Hepatocellular injury, hepatic steatosis and fibrosis, as well as inflammatory response and insulin resistance in the liver and epidydimal white adipose tissue (eWAT) were determined. Elevated body weight, liver weight and serum alanine transaminase level, increased hepatic triglyceride accumulation and collagen deposition, and worsened systemic insulin resistance were observed in Nlrp3-/- mice compared to WT mice under HFCD-HF/G feeding. Upregulated hepatic transcription of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and monocyte chemotactic protein-1 (MCP-1), and enhanced infiltration of inducible nitric oxide synthase-positive (iNOS+) M1 macrophages were also documented in HFCD-HF/G-fed Nlrp3-/- mice in comparison to HFCD-HF/G-fed WT mice. In this research, over the analysis of a privately collected and manually annotated dataset of 130 cytological whole-slide images, the authors proposed a deep-learning diagnostic system to localize, grade, and quantify squamous cell abnormalities. The system can distinguish abnormalities at the morphology level, namely atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance, low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion, high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion, and squamous cell carcinoma, as well as differential phenotypes of normal cells. The case study covered 51 positive and 79 negative digital gynecologic cytology slides collected from 2016 to 2018. Our automatic diagnostic system demonstrated its sensitivity of 100% at slide-level abnormality prediction, with the confirmation with three pathologists who performed slide-level diagnosis and training sample annotations. In the cellular-level classification, we yielded an accuracy of 94.5% in the binary classification between normality and abnormality, and the AUC was above 85% for each subtype of epithelial abnormality. However, few studies have been conducted among Asian individuals and young adults. This study included a sample of 2442 consecutive military adults aged 18-39 years in Hualien, Taiwan. MVP was defined as displacement of the anterior or posterior leaflet of the mitral valve to the mid portion of the annular hinge point > 2 mm in the parasternal long-axis view of echocardiography. Cardiac chamber size and wall thickness were measured based on the latest criteria of the American Society of Echocardiography. The clinical features of participants with MVP and those without MVP were compared using a two-sample t test, and the cardiac structures were compared using analysis of covariance with adjustment for body surface area (BSA). Eighty-two participants were diagnosed with MVP, and the prevalence was 3.36% in the overall population. Compared with those without MVP, participants with MVP had a lower body mass index (kg/m2) (24.89 ± 3.70 vs. 23.91 ± 3.45, p = 0.02) and higher prevalence of somatic symptoms related to exercise (11.0% vs. 4.9%, p = 0.02) and systolic click in auscultation (18.3% vs. 0.6%, p  less then  0.01). Here, we characterized the personal social networks of former National Football League players compared to non-football US males. Football players had more men than women, and more friends than family in their networks compared to US males. Black players had more racially diverse networks than White players and US males.
