The aim of this study was to evaluate the feasibility and safety of a total laparoscopic hysterectomy (TLH) without the use of a uterine manipulator in women with benign indications for hysterectomy.

Between January 2011 and January 2020, 1023 patients underwent a TLH without the use of any type of uterine manipulator. The indications for hysterectomy were all benign conditions. The patients' details were obtained from the hospital medical records and the indications for hysterectomy, the surgical data and the intra and postoperative complications were evaluated. All operations were performed by the same surgical team.

The median age was 48.2 years, while the BMI ranged from between 26.2 kg/m

and 47.8 kg/m

. A small percentage of the women were menopausal (278, 27 %) and, following a detailed consultation with 563 (55 %) of the patients, we performed a TLH with adnexectomy. The mean operative time was 78 min (43-168 min), while the estimated blood loss was 59 mL (20-260 ml) and the mean uterine weighrmed by well-trained and experienced laparoscopic surgeons, the procedure entails a short operative time and a low complications rate. As such, it should be the first step in the training of young doctors for performing laparoscopic radical hysterectomies.

To develop fetal growth standards for twin gestations by placental chorionicity in a Spanish population and compare them with European and American standards to estimate the suitability of their use in clinical practice.

This was a retrospective cohort study of 518 twin pregnancies, 435 dichorionic-diamniotic and 83 monochorionic-diamniotic, performed between January 2012 and December 2017. A total of 4,783 and 1,455 estimated fetal weights were considered from the 17

to the 37

week of gestation, using multilevel models, to build dichorionic-diamniotic and monochorionic-diamniotic standards, respectively. The percentages of small and large for gestational age were calculated as a model adjustment measure and adjustment to the studied data and the values provided by our model were compared against those of six European and American twin standards and three singleton standards. Correlation analyses between percentile predictions were performed using Cohen kappa coefficient. The predictive ability to det monochorionic-diamniotic cases. The correlation was moderate for all other comparisons.

Our model showed a good adjustment to the studied population. There are clear differences among small and large for gestational age cases provided by twin standards in our studied population. The twin growth standards depend on the population characteristics and model structure. We found the use of singleton standards for twin pregnancies inadequate.

It is well established that the host utilizes numerous 'patterns of pathogenicity', such as microbial growth, invasion, and viability, to achieve this tuning during bacterial infections. This review discusses how this notion fits during fungal infection, particularly regarding Aspergillus fumigatus infection. Moreover, how the environmental niches filled by A. fumigatus may drive the evolution of the fungal traits responsible for inducing the strain-specific inflammatory responses that have been experimentally observed will be discussed. Moving forward understanding the mechanisms of the fungal strain-specific inflammatory response due to the initial interactions with the host innate immune system will be essential for enhancing our therapeutic options for the treatment of invasive fungal infections.About 70% of ovarian cancer (OvCa) cases are diagnosed at advanced stages (stage III/IV) with only 20-40% of them survive over 5 years after diagnosis. A reliably screening marker could enable a paradigm shift in OvCa early diagnosis and risk stratification. Age is one of the most significant risk factors for OvCa. Older women have much higher rates of OvCa diagnosis and poorer clinical outcomes. In this article, we studied the correlation between aging and genetic alterations in The Cancer Genome Atlas Ovarian Cancer dataset. We demonstrated that copy number variations (CNVs) and expression levels of the F-Box and Leucine-Rich Repeat Protein 20 (FBXL20), a substrate recognizing protein in the SKP1-Cullin1-F-box-protein E3 ligase, can predict OvCa overall survival, disease-free survival and progression-free survival. More importantly, FBXL20 copy number loss predicts the diagnosis of OvCa at a younger age, with over 60% of patients in that subgroup have OvCa diagnosed at age less than 60 years. Clinicopathological studies further demonstrated malignant histological and radiographical features associated with elevated FBXL20 expression levels. This study has thus identified a potential biomarker for OvCa prognosis.Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the leading causes of cancer death worldwide. Endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) is generally activated in HCC and is important for the sensitivity of HCC to anticancer drugs. Androgen Receptor Antagonist ERS-dependent autophagy is a crucial mechanism affecting the sensitivity of HCC to anticancer drugs, but the mechanism by which ERS regulates autophagy is not well understood. Zinc finger protein 263 (ZNF263) is a transcription factor member of the zinc finger family. However, its functional role in HCC remains to be studied. In the current study, we investigated the role of ZNF263 in regulating ERS-induced chemoresistance in HCC and its possible mechanism. We found that ZNF263 was the most significant ERS-specific super-enhancer bounding transcriptional factor and was up-regulated in HCC patients and cell lines. Further, ZNF263 expression correlated with ERS, clinical stage and shorter survival in HCC patients. ZNF263 knockdown by RNA interference results in decreased proliferation, apoptosis resistance, and chemoresistance.
