Atherosclerosis is not only a lipid metabolism disorder, but is also a chronic inflammatory one. This review providesa synoptic discussion of the underlying pathological mechanisms of atherosclerosis andthe currently applied therapeutic interventions. We then discuss the classical lipid-lowering therapies as well as the newly discovered therapies. For the classical therapies, we point out the importance of statins and ezetimibe in reducing plasma cholesterol levels by virtue of their effects on synthesis, reuptake and intestinal absorption of cholesterol. We also discuss the role of fibrates in modulating lipid metabolism and improving the ratio of high-density to low-density density lipoproteins. The results show that van der Waals interactions are the leading factors to control associations of 57Q, 57P, and L96 with A-FABP, which reveals an energetic basis for designing of clinically available inhibitors towards A-FABP. EXE and EXE + ORY flies showed increased survival and locomotor activity, improved glycidic and lipid parameters, with a lower RS production, and increased antioxidant defenses compared to Control, and EXE + ORY when compared to the EXE group, obtained an increase in the ratio of protein levels/body weight, decreased ratio of triglyceride levels/body weight and decreased lipid peroxidation. However, MLF showed less survival and decreased locomotor activity, possibly due to increased AChE activity and reduced antioxidant defenses. Smartphone misuse, also known as Nomophobia is the fear of not being able to consult your own mobile phone, of not being connected or traceable. During the Italian lockdown caused by COVID-19, while the use of technology was the fundamental basis of adaptation for smart working, school and professional training, leading to a change in the population's lifestyle, smartphone dependency caused impaired social relationships. To date, the impact of smartphone dependency in men and women is unclear. We conducted this study with the hypothesis that a period of lockdown fosters the growth of a pathological use of the cell phone different in women and men.

The study objective was to examine the effects of virtual reality gaming and physiotherapy on balance, gross motor performance and daily functioning among children with bilateral spastic cerebral palsy.

Thirty-eight children with bilateral spastic cerebral palsy aged 6-12 years with GMFCS- level II-III, Manual Ability Classification System level I-III participated in this randomized controlled trial. The experimental group performed virtual reality games and physiotherapy, while the control group underwent physiotherapy alone. The exercise intensity was 60 minutes session a day, 4-days a week for 6-weeks. Paediatric Balance Scale (PBS), Kids-Mini-Balance Evaluation System Test (Kids-Mini-BESTest), Gross Motor Function Measure-88 (GMFM-88), and Wee-Functional Independence Measure (WeeFIM) were the outcome measures collected at baseline, 6-week post-training and 2-months follow-up.
