By mediation of the pH values, three novel inorganic-organic iodoplumbate hybrids, [Me3TPT][Pb3I9] [1; Me3TPT = trimethyl-2,4,6-tris(4-pyridyl)-1,3,5-triazine], [Me3TPT]2[Pb9I24] (2), and [Me3TPT]2[Pb19I44] (3), have been achieved under solvothermal conditions. The large conjugated in situ N-alkylation polypyridine derivatives act as structure-directing agents and electron acceptors, making the materials feature adjustable structural variations with 0D, 1D, and 2D structures and a potential semiconductive performance with narrow energy gaps (1.72, 1.80, and 1.78 eV for 1-3, respectively), which result in their efficient photocatalytic activity under visible-light irradiation. Theoretical calculation reveals that the conjugated organic moieties greatly contribute to the conduction band, leading to narrow band gaps. It is expected that the work will contribute to the exploitation of novel semiconducting halometallates by employing conjugated organic species as structure-directing agents.Stereodynamics of the collisional reaction between mutually aligned or oriented reactants has been a striking topic of chemical dynamics for decades. However, the stereodynamic aspects are scarcely revealed for the low-energy collision with a randomly oriented target. Here in the dissociative charge-exchange reaction between randomly oriented O2 and low-energy Ar+, we, using the three-dimensional ion velocity map imaging technique, clearly observe a linear alignment and a nearly isotropic distribution of the O+ yields along the collision axis. These observations are rationalized with the Doppler kinetic models in which the O2 bond is assumed to be parallel or unparallel to the collision axis of the large impact parameter collision. The linearly aligned O+, as the predominant yield, is produced in the parallel collision, while a rotating O2+, as the intermediate in the unparallel collision, leads to the isotropic distribution of O+.NLRP3-PYD inflammasome activates an inflammatory pathway in response to a wide variety of cell damage or infections. Dysregulated NLRP3 inflammatory signaling has many chronic inflammatory and autoimmune disorders. NLRP3 and ASC have a PYD, a superfamily member of the Death Domain, which plays a key role in inflammatory assembly. The ASC interacts with NLRP3 through a homotypic PYD and recruits the procaspase-1 through a homotypic caspase recruitment domain interaction. Here, we used several computational approaches to reveal the interactions of the NLRP3 and ASC PYD domains that lead to the activation of the inflammasome complex. We have characterized ASC and NLRP3-PYD intermolecular interactions by protein-protein docking, and further molecular dynamics (MD) simulations were conducted to evaluate the stability of NLRP3/ASC-PYD complex. Subsequently, we have identified several residues that stabilize the NLRP3/ASC-PYD complex in different faces (i.e., Face-1 to Face-4). The research framework offers new insights into the molecular mechanisms of inflammasome and apoptosis signaling as well as the ease of the drug discovery process. The safety and energy density of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are important concerns. The use of high-capacity cathode materials, such as Ni-rich cathodes, can greatly improve the energy density of LIBs, but it also brings some safety hazards. Cylindrical 21700-type batteries using Ni-rich cathodes were employed here to investigate their high-temperature storage deterioration mechanism under different states of charge (SOCs). Electrolyte decomposition was identified as the main problem. It can be worsened by elevated storage temperatures and battery SOCs, with the latter having a more significant influence. Specifically, the decomposition of the LiPF6 solute and the carbonate solvent will induce hydrofluoric acid (HF) formation and solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) film regeneration, respectively. HF erosion will aggravate the dissolution of transition metal ions and structural degradation of cathode materials, while the destruction/regeneration of SEI films will consume active lithium and hinder Li+ diffusion at the anode side. Besides, the self-discharge behavior will also enlarge the graphite layer spacing, thus decreasing the graphitization degree of graphite anodes and causing anode failure. These findings will aid in the development of strategies for improving the safety of LIBs with high energy density.Pain management is one of the main focuses on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) patients treatment. Based on the review, we make some pain management recommendations for Indonesian COVID-19 patients based on the Indonesian Society of Anesthesiology for Pain Management meeting. We follow some recommendations by health organizations and make some recommendations for general pain management and postoperative pain management for Indonesian COVID-19 patients including, the choice of analgesic, pain management post-operative, and personal protective equipment.

The choice between a double-lumen tube (DLT) and a bronchial blocker (BB) for lung isolation remains controversial. The aim of this study was to determine if the features of these lung isolation devices affect postoperative pulmonary outcomes.

We retrospectively identified claims by patients who underwent surgery under lung isolation in 2000-2012 in the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database. After matching for age, sex, and year of surgery, 1,898 patients were enrolled in a BB group and 5,694 in a DLT group. The risks of readmission in the first postoperative year with pulmonary complications, in-hospital death, and one-year mortality were estimated using conditional logistic regression analysis.

Patients in the BB group had higher risks of readmission with pulmonary infection (adjusted odds ratio [aOR], 1.46; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.22-1.74) or respiratory failure (aOR, 1.38; 95% CI, 1.09-1.76) in the first postoperative year as well as in-hospital death (aOR, 2.03; 95% CI, 1.40-2.94) and one-year mortality (aOR, 1.94; 95% CI, 1.60-2.35) than those in the DLT group after adjustment for the types of the surgeries, hospital accreditation level, underlying comorbidity, and a potentially difficult airway. Patients in the BB group had longer median (interquartile range) stays in the intensive care unit (1 [0-4] vs. click here 1 [0-3] days, P < 0.001) and in hospital (16 [10-26] vs. 13 [8-22] days, P < 0.001).

Patients undergoing thoracic surgery are more likely to experience postoperative pulmonary complications if a BB than a DLT is used.
