Osteopathic medicine in the United States continues to produce a substantial number of physicians and medical educators. However, recently popularized misconceptions about osteopathic medical practice, education, and manual therapy suggest an unsettling prevalence of inaccurate beliefs held by the public. The public often searches the internet to find out information about osteopathic medicine, but the content of questions and the transparency of the resulting information is unknown.
We sought to explore frequently asked questions (FAQs) generated by Google to assess commonly searched questions about the osteopathic profession and to determine the level of information transparency associated with resulting sources.
On June 16, 2021, we searched Google for three terms "osteopathic medicine," "doctor of osteopathic medicine," and "DO," until a minimum of 100 FAQs and their answer links were extracted from each search. After excluding irrelevant FAQs, we used Rothwell's Classification of Questions to categarency criteria as a rubric when publishing information to enhance transparency.

Myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) can be found at all ages. Approximately 30.0-93.0% of patients with musculoskeletal pain have MPS. Unsuccessful treatment can lead to dysfunction, disability, and a cost burden. We conducted a search of studies published in Google Scholar and PubMed databases from 2016 to 2021.

Hypothyroidism is the most common endocrine disorder worldwide. Hypothyroisim increases cardiovascular risk, thus the study focuses on the assessment of cardiovascular risk factors such as serum Homocysteine, serum Oxidized LDL and Lipid profile and their correlation with TSH levels. Timely evaluation of these risk predictors would help in reducing cardiovascular disease morbidity and mortality in hypothyroidism.
This was a hospital based cross-sectional study consisting of Forty newly diagnosed patients with overt hypothyroidism in the age group of 20-60 years attending Medicine OPD were included as cases and Fifty healthy age and gender matched healthy controls participated as controls in the study. We concluded that the association of hyperhomocysteinemia and lipid abnormalities occurring in hypothyroidism may represent a dynamic atherogenic state and thyroid hormone failed to completely normalize Hcy levels. Thus, elevated plasma homocysteine levels may be an independent risk factor for the accelerated atherosclerosis seen in hypothyroidism. In addition, we found that the circulating ox-LDL levels were elevated in untreated hypothyroidism and they tend to be higher in thyroid dysfunction.The role of an External Quality Assurance (EQA) program is generally seen as providing a service to routine laboratories that their analytical performance is satisfactory and stimulating corrective action in the event of poor results. It is recognised that an ideal EQA program uses materials that are commutable with patient samples and have values assigned by higher-order reference methods. Despite this, most routine EQA programs use materials without verified commutability and use consensus means (based on either peer group or all laboratories) as target values. We propose an ongoing role for EQA programs using non-commutable materials and consensus targets to support the measurement services of routine laboratories. This is provided the relevant comparators supplied by the laboratory, e.g. reference intervals and clinical decision points, are based on the same or equivalent measurement system as is used by the laboratory. Materials without verified commutability often have certain practical advantages, which may include the range of analyte concentrations, verified stability, replicate samples and, significantly, lower costs. Laboratories using such programs need to be aware of the limitations, especially comparing results from different measurement systems. However, we also recognise that as well as individual laboratories, data from EQA programs informs manufacturers, professional organisations, clinical guideline writers and other medical bodies For consideration beyond an individual laboratory, proper assessment of differences between measurement systems (results harmonization) and demonstration of correct implementation of metrological traceability (methods trueness) become vital, and for that purpose, commutability of EQA materials and traceability of target values are required.The development of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has always been highly valued and supported since 1949. Related policies also directly influence the development of the industry. The latest version of the Provisions for Drug Registration and Requirement on Registration Classification and Application Information of Traditional Chinese Medicines have been put into practice since 2020. Registration classification is the core content of the Chinese medicine registration management system, as it is closely related to the research, development, and registration of Chinese medicine and the innovative development of the industry. This article aims to systematically review the historical evolution of the category of Chinese medicine registration and analyze the current status and problems, which is expected to provide a reference for the formulation of supporting documents according to related laws and regulations.Rich experience of clinical diagnosis and treatment has been accumulated in the developmental history of Chinese medicine, and the efficacy has been increasingly accepted by the public. However, the evaluation of clinical efficacy is currently based more on scientific evidence instead of merely the changes of patient symptoms. In Chinese medicine, the changes of major disease indicators, patient symptoms, and pathogenesis are the major criteria for the evaluation of clinical efficacy. The lack of well-accepted and uniform criteria and the uncertainty of subjective evaluation limit the development of clinical Chinese medicine. Evidence-based medicine combines clinical skills with the current best evidence. Narrative medicine, utilizing people's narratives in clinical practice, emphasizes patient feelings, willingness, and value orientation. The introduction of both evidence-based medicine and narrative medicine into the evaluation of clinical efficacy refers to the construction of the clinical efficacy evaluation system in a paradigm of participatory diagnosis and treatment. It can fully reflect the characteristics of Chinese medicine, respect the values of patients, and achieve universal clinical evidence. Therefore, it helps to improve the diagnosis and treatment, the relationship between doctors and patients, patients' life quality and decision-making awareness, and finally the new evaluation model of clinical efficacy of Chinese medicine.This study aims to evaluate the methodological and reporting quality of diagnosis and treatment guidelines for hyperuricemia as well as the expert consensuses and promote the understanding and application of the diagnosis and treatment guidelines for hyperuricemia. With "hyperuricemia" "guidelines" "consensus" "recommendations" as the key words in titles, the authors searched for the published clinical guidelines on hyperuricemia in Chinese against CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, Medlive and the official website of the industry association. The retrieval time limit was until May 31, 2021. The appraisal of guidelines for research and evaluation Ⅱ(AGREEⅡ) and the reporting items for practice guidelines in health care(RIGHT) were employed to evaluate the methodological quality and reporting quality of 14 guidelines/consensuses included. The average scores of the guidelines/consensuses were 80.85%(48.61%-98.61%) for the domain of scope and purpose, 34.52%(0-69.44%) for the domain of stakeholder involvement, 35.53%(6.25%-92.19%) for the domain of rigor of development, 55.85%(23.61%-86.11%) for the domain of clarity of presentation, 26.19%(0-76.04%) for the domain of applicability, and 21.42%(0-50.00%) for the domain of editorial independence. Nine guidelines/consensuses were of medium overall quality with grade B recommendation, and five guidelines/consensuses were of poor quality with grade C recommendation. CNKI, Wanfang, VIP, CBM, Cochrane Library, PubMed, EMbase, Web of Science and ClinicalTrials.gov were systematically searched for randomized controlled trials(RCTs) of Xiangju Capsules in the treatment of sinusitis, and Meta-analysis was performed on the included articles using RevMan 5.3. Twenty-nine articles were included, involving 4 331 cases, including 2 196 cases in the experimental group and 2 135 cases in the control group. Meta-analysis results showed that the conventional therapy combined with Xiangju Capsules showed better significant efficiency(RR=1.30, 95%CI[1.15, 1.47], P<0.000 01), total response rate(RR=1.19, 95%CI[1.16, 1.23], P<0.000 01), and Lund-Mackay scores(MD=-1.23, 95%CI[-1.39,-1.07], P<0.000 01) than conventional therapy alone. The conventional therapy combined with Eucalyptol-limonene-pinene Enteric Soft Capsules and Xiangju Capsules showed better total response rate(RR=1.1ycin alone. Trial sequential analysis(TSA) showed that the cumulative sample size of the main outcome indicators had met expectations. The main adverse reactions included drowsiness, diarrhea, and abdominal pain, which had no direct relationship with Xiangju Capsules. Based on the available data and methods, the combination of Xiangju Capsules with multiple treatments showed significant efficiency and total response rate in the treatment of sinusitis, and improved CT scores, VAS scores, and Lund-Mackay scores, without serious adverse reactions. The efficacy and safety of Xiangju Capsules in the treatment of sinusitis still need to be verified by a large-sample, well-designed, and internationally standardized clinical trial scheme.
