gariepinus. The levels of some heavy metals in ADW were above standard permissible limits and might have contributed to the observed cytogenetic and systemic disruptions. These findings may be used by the concerned authorities to evolve management strategies for the reservoir's health and biologic resources. The degradation of paracetamol (PCT) in an aqueous medium using the Fenton and photo-Fenton reactions was investigated. The aim of this research was the development of a kinetic model based on a reaction mechanism, which includes two main intermediates of PCT degradation and the local volumetric rate of photon absorption (LVRPA). Ferrioxalate was used as a catalyst and the working pH was adjusted to 5.5 (natural pH). Experimental work was planned through a D-optimal experimental design and performed in a flat plate reactor irradiated by a solar simulator. Hydrogen peroxide (HP) concentration, reaction temperature, and radiation level were the operating parameters. The photo-Fenton reaction allowed to reach a minimum relative PCT concentration of 2.01% compared to 5.04% achieved with Fenton reaction. Moreover, the photo-Fenton system required a 50% shorter reaction time and lower HP concentration than in dark conditions (90 min and 189 mg L-1 vs. 180 min and 334 mg L-1, respectively). M3814 The experimental results were used to estimate the kinetic parameters of the proposed kinetic model employing a nonlinear, multi-parameter regression method. The values obtained from the normalized root-mean-square error (14.52, 1.96, 4.36, 13.16, and 8.72 % for PCT, benzoquinone, hydroquinone, HP, and oxalate, respectively) showed a good agreement between the predicted and experimental data.Water reservoirs are essential for regional economic development, as populations depend on them for agriculture irrigation, flood control, hydroelectric power generation, water supply for human consumption, and subsistence fishing activities. However, the reservoir environmental quality can be disturbed by enhanced sediment input and trace metal contamination, affecting human health as a consequence of contaminated water and fish consumption. With the purpose to understand the trends and extent of sediment accumulation and trace element contamination in the Oviachic reservoir (OV, northwestern Mexico) since its construction, the temporal variations of sediment accumulation, and As, Cr, Cu, Hg, Ni, Pb, and Zn concentrations, enrichment, and fluxes, were evaluated through the study of two 210Pb-dated sediment cores. We assumed that siltation and trace element contamination were driven by the development of anthropogenic activities in the region within the past ~ 70 years. Elemental concentrations accounted from null to minor enrichment for most elements, but moderate to significant enrichment by Hg. Mercury, As, and Cu fluxes have notably increased since the past decade, most likely because of a combination of anthropogenic and natural processes, including catchment erosion, artisanal gold mining, and recent drought conditions in the region. Arsenic and Hg concentrations may pose deleterious risks to biota in the reservoir, and consequently to humans through fish consumption, for which further biological and toxicological tests are advisable. This study highlights the importance of using sediment dating to assess historical trends of metal contamination and identify possible sources, to support decision-making in programs addressed to reduce environmental and health risks in aquatic ecosystems.Given the context of the global energy shortage and the deterioration of the ecological environment, this paper uses industrial linkage as a starting point to deeply explore the energy consumption of different sectors and its transfer characteristics. First, a dual evaluation of energy consumption in various sectors is conducted from the perspectives of production and demand to realize an integrated analysis from the energy consumption perspective. Second, based on industrial linkage, the economic input-output life cycle assessment (EIO-LCA) model is used to quantify the net transfer of energy consumption and identify the transfer of energy consumption pressure embodied in economic activities by various sectors. Finally, the energy consumption of various sectors is decomposed, and the transfer flow of energy consumption is measured to accurately quantify the degree of linkage in the energy consumption of sectors. The results show that the current direct energy consumption intensity of various sectors in Chinandustrial sector. The amount of municipal solid waste (MSW) has been increasing rapidly in the urban centres of developing countries during the last few decades; however, municipal solid waste management (MSWM) remains inadequate. One of the largest aspects of cost of the MSWM system is the collection of waste. This paper describes a methodology that combines geographic information systems (GIS), hesitant fuzzy linguistic term set (HFLTS), and the full multiplicative form of multi-objective optimization by ratio analysis (MULTIMOORA), to determine suitable locations for waste collection boxes (named AYPIKUT), which have been designed specifically for collection of domestic waste vegetable oil and waste batteries. It takes as case study, Atakum, a district of Samsun city, Turkey. As a solution to the problem, first, a total of 88 items have been identified for consideration by seven criteria elicited from the insights of experts, and spatial analyses were performed. Multi-criteria HFLTS was then used to determine weights of the criteria. Population density was the most significant criterion affecting the selection process, and proximity to housing complexes with more than 150 dwellings was the least important. According to the weights of the seven criteria, and three rules determined by the experts, 15 AYPIKUT locations were identified using GIS. As a final step, the alternative locations (A1-A15) were ranked with the MULTIMOORA method. A5 was the most suitable site, and A6 was the least suitable site for an AYPIKUT. The results indicated the ability of the proposed model to select the suitable locations for waste collection box.
