The comparison between SIM_IG21st curve and local curves showed a nonsignificant intercept and a slight difference of the 2 slopes (GA and GA3) for the equations of the mean. As a result, the local curve resulted in greater AC values. A difference in the intercept but not in the slopes (GA2, GA3, and GA3 * lnGA) was instead reported for the equations of the SD. In the percentile comparison, the local curve resulted in an overestimation of the 3rd and the 10th percentile that corresponded to the 4th and 12th percentiles of SIM_IG21st, respectively.
This statistical method allows sonographers to assess potential differences between standard curves and local curve population, enabling a more proper identification of abnormal growth trajectories.

The aim of this study was to obtain expert consensus on the content of a curriculum for learning chorionic villus sampling (CVS) and amniocentesis (AC) and the items of an assessment tool to evaluate CVS and AC competence.
We used a 3-round iterative Delphi process. A steering committee supervised all processes. Seven international collaborators were identified to expand the breadth of the study internationally. The collaborators invited fetal medicine experts to participate as panelists. In the first round, the panelists suggested content for a CVS/AC curriculum and an assessment tool. learn more The steering committee organized and condensed the suggested items and presented them to the panelists in round 2. In the second round, the panelists rated and commented on the suggested items. The results were processed by the steering committee and presented to the panelists in the third round, where final consensus was obtained. Consensus was defined as support by more than 80% of the panelists for an item.
Eighty-six on content to be included in a CVS/AC curriculum and on an assessment tool to evaluate CVS/AC skills. These results are important to help transition current training and assessment methods from a time- and volume-based approach to a competency-based approach which is a key step in improving patient safety and outcomes for the 2 most common invasive procedures in fetal medicine.
The aim of this study was to explore the diagnostic value of different fluorine-18 (18F)-labeled tracers for lymph node/bone metastasis and biochemical recurrence detection in advanced prostate cancer (PCa).
PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Cochrane databases, and the WHO International Clinical Trial Center were searched. The inclusion criteria were determined based on the Preferred Report Items of the Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Guidelines. The Quality Assessment of Diagnostic Accuracy Studies-2 was used to assess the quality assessment of the included studies. The quantitative analysis of the included literature was performed on the patient and lesion basis, and the equivocal findings were considered negative or positive results, respectively.
Thirty-seven articles were included. On the patient basis, the pooled sensitivity and specificity of [18F]-labeled tracers were 0.80 (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.78-0.83) and 0.89 (95% CI 0.87-0.90) when equivocal results were considered to be positive and 0.80 (95% CI 0.77-0.82) and 0.87 (95% CI 0.85-0.89) when equivocal results were considered to be negative. On the lesion basis, the pooled sensitivity and specificity of [18F]-labeled tracers were 0.82 (95% CI 0.80-0.83) and 0.91 (95% CI 0.90-0.92) when equivocal lesions were regarded as positive and 0.81 (95% CI 0.80-0.82) and 0.91 (95% CI 0.90-0.92) when equivocal lesions were considered to be negative.

This study aimed to test the hypothesis that cardiac size is maintained in small fetuses presenting with cardiomegaly.
We identified singleton fetuses with estimated fetal weight <10th centile and with cardiomegaly without another more likely cardiac or extra-cardiac cause. We used Z-scores for cardiac and thoracic circumferences normalized for gestational age (GA), biparietal diameter (BPD), head circumference (HC), and femur length (FL), obtained from 188 normally grown fetuses.
When comparing chest size, small fetuses had significantly lower thoracic circumferences median Z-scores (IQR) for GA = -4.82 (-6.15 to -3.51), BPD = -2.42 (-4.04 to -1.48), HC = -2.72 (-4.53 to -1.90), and FL = -1.60 (-2.87 to -0.71); p < 0.001 for all. When comparing heart size, small fetuses showed lower cardiac circumferences median Z-scores (IQR) for GA = -1.59 (-2.79 to -0.16); p < 0.001, similar cardiac circumferences Z-scores for BPD = 0.29 (-0.65 to 1.28); p = 0.284 and HC = 0.11 (-1.13 to 0.96); p = 0.953, and higher cardiac circumferences Z-scores for FL = 0.94 (-0.05 to 2.13); p < 0.001.
Our results show that in small fetuses with cardiomegaly, the heart maintains normal dimensions when normalized to cranial diameters and higher dimensions when normalized to long bones. This provides insight into cardiac adaptation to adverse intrauterine environment.

An initial response was obtained in 23 (63.9%) patients, including 11 with a complete response (CR) and 12 with a partial response (PR). Six months after HD-DXM treatment, 26 of 33 (78.8%) evaluable patients achieved objective responses, including 18 CR and 8 PR. Among 13 patients without initial response, very early increased platelet count within a week (VEIP) was observed in 7 patients, 5 (71.4%) of whom achieved a response at 6 months. In 29 patients who had available platelet count within a week, patients showing VEIP revealed longer survival than those who did not (p = 0.026). HD-DXM was an effective treatment for newly diagnosed ITP patients. VEIP after HD-DXM treatment initiation was associated with a long-term objective response in newly diagnosed ITP patients.
Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the common malignant tumors, with high mortality and poor prognosis. Our study aimed to determine the association between the long noncoding RNA (LncRNA) C5orf66 polymorphism and CRC risk in southern Chinese Han population.
Using the experimental design of "case-control" study (512 cases and 513 controls), we selected 4 candidate single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of C5orf66. All candidate SNPs were genotyped by Agena MassARRAY. Logistic regression was used to analyze the association between SNPs and CRC risk. Then, we used false-positive report probability analysis to detect whether the significant result is just a chance or noteworthy observation. Multi-factor dimensionality reduction was used to analyze the interaction of "SNP-SNP" in CRC risk.
Our results showed that C5orf66 SNPs rs4976270 (odds ratio [OR] = 1.69, p = 0.021) and rs639933 (OR = 1.67, p = 0.024) were, respectively, associated with increasing CRC risk in the southern Chinese Han population. Stratified analysis showed that rs4976270 and rs639933 were significantly associated with an increased risk of CRC in subgroups (>60 years, body mass index ≤24 and drinking) under multiple genetic models. In addition, rs254563 and rs647161 also had potential association with CRC risk in subgroups (BMI ≤24 and drinking). Finally, haplotype analysis results showed that haplotype "TA" was significantly associated with increased CRC risk (OR = 1.21, confidence interval = 1.47-2.02, p = 0.043).
Our study provides a new idea for the risk assessment of CRC. LncRNA C5orf66 SNPs have a certain association with CRC risk in the southern Chinese Han population.

Respiratory distress is one of the life-threatening conditions in preterm infants. Sensory deprivation in preterm infants hospitalized in the intensive care units affects their physiological and psychological development. Therefore, this study is an attempt to compare the effects of foot and palm reflexology on respiratory distress in infants subjected to noninvasive ventilation.
In this clinical study, 150 infants hospitalized at Fatemieh Hospital in Hamadan were randomly assigned to 3 groups. In the intervention groups, the reflexology massage to foot and palm was performed for 10 min within 3 days in 6 rounds. In the control group, leg warming was performed. In each group, the personal information checklist, the respiratory distress score, oxygen saturation percentage, and respiratory rate before and after the daily intervention were examined. Data analysis was performed using the standard statistical tests in SPSS.
The results mirrored the statistically significant difference between the interventioess.
Targeted therapy is used to treat patients with a BRAF-mutated metastatic melanoma and is continued until disease progression or severe toxicity. No robust data on the management of patients achieving a complete remission (CR) are available.
To determine the relapse rate in the first year after targeted therapy discontinuation in patients in CR. Secondary Objectives To determine the relapse rates throughout the follow-up and to identify prognostic factors for relapse at 1 year.
A retrospective, monocentric observational study was conducted in patients with advanced melanoma included in the RIC-Mel database who discontinued targeted therapy after achieving a CR confirmed by CT scan and PET/CT scan.
Twenty-nine patients were included. Seventeen (58.6%) patients were treated with BRAF inhibitor (BRAFi) alone and 12 (41.4%) with a BRAFi combined with a MEK inhibitor (BRAFi + MEKi). The median treatment duration was 9.7 months. The relapse rates after discontinuation were 69% at 12 months (BRAFi 70.6%; BRA men, and patients responding rapidly to treatment would be more likely to maintain a CR after treatment discontinuation.
This real-life study provided long-term data in patients who discontinued targeted therapy after CR. Most patients experienced a relapse in the first year after targeted therapy discontinuation, of whom 50% were in the first 3 months. After targeted therapy resumption, 53% of relapsing patients achieved an objective response. Patients should be followed during the first year after treatment discontinuation. In addition, patients with less than 3 metastatic sites, a baseline LDH level with normal ranges, men, and patients responding rapidly to treatment would be more likely to maintain a CR after treatment discontinuation.
