This bacterium is intrinsically susceptible to fluoroquinolones. But recently, drug-resistant forms of this bacterium have been reported. This study aims to determine the prevalence of this bacterium by ELISA and PCR and MIC to ciprofloxacin. The clinical samples (blood and nasopharyngeal swab) were collected from 100 patients, who were referred to selective hospitals in Tehran with respiratory complaints, were enrolled in 2017. Nasopharyngeal swab sample collections were cultured on PPLO broth and PPLO agar. After culturing and DNA extraction, PCR was performed by specific P1 genes primers. Ciprofloxacin's MIC of Mycoplasma pneumonia isolated was determined by the Micro-broth dilution method. The serum of IgG antibody titers was also measured by ELISA Mycoplasma pneumonia. In this study, out of 100 samples, 12 bacteria were isolated on PPLO agar. Using specific primers, 7 samples of Mycoplasma speciesism-specific were positive for the presence of M.pneumoniae and 2 Ciprofloxacin resistant isolates were evaluated. ELISA results show that IgG titer antibody is existent in 19 samples and 5 samples are intermediate as well. IgG antibody titer average in the whole sample is 27/66 U/ml, but it is in Positive samples by P1 PCR is 45/75 U/ml. This study showed that PCR is a sensitive and reliable method for rapid detection of M. pneumoniae bacteria in respiratory infectious samples, but the results of this method are different from the ELISA method. In TECSA patients with significant symptoms and high central apnoea index, treatment with acetazolamide as adjunct to CPAP may be considered, particularly in patients in whom CPAP adherence is imperative.The claw-type titanium plate has been successfully applied to manage a flail chest. A 60-year-old man with a severe flail chest underwent a surgical rib fixation. He had multiple rib fractures accompanied by dislocation and protruding crossed rib edges; we assumed a possibility of lung injury during a standard procedure in which the KANI® plates would be placed from outside the chest wall. Therefore, we placed KANI® plates inside the chest wall to ensure sufficient claw bend and to cover crossed rib edges to prevent organ injuries. Women with this muscular dystrophy could rarely have poor birth outcomes, with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy symptom deterioration post-partum. In this study, we present a case of a woman with a genetically confirmed facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy 1 who underwent cesarean section with epidural anesthesia with favorable outcomes following the procedure. Eight months post cesarean section, the patient reported no facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy symptom deterioration. We reviewed the literature with emphasis on large studies concerning facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy and birth outcomes and concluded that the hereby presented approach is important for the comprehensive obstetric care and future risk assessment and management in such patients.The current global pandemic caused by coronavirus has uncovered multiple symptoms, including sudden hearing loss in either one or both ears, with different outcomes. We present a 68-year-old female with sudden onset bilateral hearing loss, fever, generalized body weakness, and gastrointestinal disturbances. She tested positive for severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2, was isolated, and was treated with a variety of medications for 5 days before being discharged home to self-isolate. The audiological assessment revealed both sensorineural and conductive hearing loss with a progressive favorable outcome on follow-up visits, with resolution occurring approximately 2 months after the onset. The majority of cases have reported sensorineural hearing loss. However, this case is one of the few that has reported mixed hearing loss. The double papilla technique for root covering is a periodontal plastic surgery technique recommended for the treatment of gingival recessions. In this case report, we show the clinical results after a 12-month follow-up of a root-covering procedure in an upper canine affected by a gingival recession. A 56-year-old patient presenting a Cairo type I gingival recession on the vestibular surface of tooth 23 was treated with a one-stage surgical procedure, carried out using the double papilla technique in combination with a partially epithelialized connective tissue graft, reaching 100% root coverage. After a 12-month follow-up, this technique showed highly successful results both in 100% coverage of the defect and in long-term stability and aesthetics.We herein report the case of an 84-year-old female who presented to the outpatient clinic one day following her first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine with mydriasis, ptosis, and a "down and out" gaze. She was subsequently diagnosed with oculomotor nerve palsy, and treated with corticosteroids and valacyclovir for a total of 7 days, with no clear improvement. On subsequent visits, ophthalmic examination improved steadily and showed complete resolution after 8 weeks. The knowledge of maternal colonization and antimicrobial susceptibility test is substantially needed for a nation to formulate a policy or change the already existing one to reduce maternal, fetus, and infant mortality. As a result, the goal of this review was to determine the pooled prevalence Group B streptococcus colonization and antimicrobial susceptibility among Ethiopian pregnant women.

Literature searches were carried out in the electronic biomedical databases and indexing services such as PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, Science Direct, Web of Science, and Google Scholar. Original records of research articles, available online from 2014 to December 2020, addressing prevalence and antimicrobial-resistance pattern of Group B streptococcus in pregnant women were identified and screened. Endnote citation manager software version X9 for windows was utilized to collect and organize search outcomes and for removal of duplicate articles.
