Here, we provide a summary of the dermatological findings observed among patients with laboratory-confirmed SARS-CoV-2 infection based on recent reports. In addition, we analyze possible mechanisms of skin injury in COVID-19 patients and discuss about the risk of individuals with chronic skin conditions for SARS-CoV-2 infection. The present review constitutes a useful informative tool to improve our understanding of the pathophysiological mechanisms of COVID-19 and the possible implications of the current pandemic in dermatology.

Although several clinical factors which show the benefit of adjuvant chemotherapy (AC) in early-stage colon cancer use for evaluating the risk of relapse, there is no consensus on which risk factors are more reliable. In this study, we evaluated both the utility of MSI and the daily practice of the Turkish oncologists in stage II and III colon cancer.

We conducted an online questionnaire which was consisting of twenty questions including the treatment choices and duration about stage II-III colon cancer depending on sidedness and risk factors for relapse.

More than 65% of the oncologists declared the use of MSI testing in stage II colon cancer without considering any risk factors. In stage 3 colon cancer oncologists had an equal decision "to do or not to do" in MSI testing. More than 50% of the oncologists had preferred XELOX protocol in high-risk stage II (T4N0) colon cancer, while three out of four preferred observation in low-risk stage II (T3N0) patients without risk factors. Two-thirds of the oncologists had preferred 6 months of treatment in stage II colon cancer with at least one risk factor.

It accounts for ~20% of all childhood central nervous system (CNS) tumors. Despite, tremendous advances in drug development processes, as well as novel drugs for MB the morbidity and mortality rates, remain high. Craniospinal radiation, high-dose chemotherapy, and surgical resection are the primary therapeutic strategies. Tremendous progress in the field of "genomics" with vast amounts of data has led to the identification of four distinct molecular subgroups in medulloblastoma WNT group, SHH group, group-III, and group-IV. The identification of these subgroups has led to individualized treatment strategies for each subgroup. Here, we discuss the various molecular subgroups of medulloblastoma as well as the differences between them. We also highlight the latest treatment strategies available for medulloblastoma.Previous studies have demonstrated that transcription factor Etv5 plays an important role in the segregation between epiblast and primitive endoderm at the second fate decision of early embryo. However, it remains elusive whether Etv5 functions in the segregation between inner cell mass and trophectoderm at the first cell fate decision. In this study, we firstly generated Etv5 knockout mouse embryonic stem cells (mESCs) by CRISPR/Cas9, then converted them into extended potential stem cells (EPSCs) by culturing the cells in small molecule cocktail medium LCDM (LIF, CHIR99021, (S)-(+)-dimethindene maleate, minocycline hydrochloride), and finally investigated their differentiation efficiency of trophoblast stem cells (TSCs). The results showed that Etv5 knockout significantly decreased the efficiency of TSCs (CDX2+) differentiated from EPSCs. In addition, Etv5 knockout resulted in higher incidence of the differentiated cells with tetraploid and octoploid than that from wild type. Mechanistically, Etv5 was activated by extracellular-signal-regulated kinase (ERK) signaling pathway; in turn, Etv5 had a positive feedback on the expression of fibroblast growth factor receptor 2 (FGFR2) which lies upstream of ERK. Etv5 knockout decreased the expression of FGFR2, whose binding with fibroblast growth factor 4 was essentially needed for TSCs differentiation. Collectively, the findings in this study suggest that Etv5 is required to safeguard the TSCs differentiation by regulating FGFR2 and provide new clues to understand the specification of trophectoderm in vivo.A new Rhizopogon species associated with Pinus was discovered at local wild mushroom markets and Pinus armandii forests from March to July in Southwest China where it is considered a delicacy. However, there are few available reports regarding surface spraying of anthocyanin for reduction of Cd poisoning in rice and its practical applications in paddy fields. After rice growing, measurements were taken of rice growth, pigments, the antioxidant system, thiol compounds, and distribution of Cd in rice tissues. The results showed that surface spraying anthocyanin could promote rice growth, and relative to the control, total chlorophyll significantly increased by 22.62% after surface spraying of 7.5 g L-1 anthocyanin. Simultaneously, Cd accumulation in rice grains was 0.17 ± 0.02 mg kg-1, which was significantly decreased by 46.88% relative to the control. In the pot experiment (40-day-old rice), treatment with 7.5 g L-1 anthocyanin resulted in decreases of ·O2-, H2O2, and malondialdehyde contents in rice leaves, while the activities of superoxide dismutase, peroxidase, catalase, and ascorbate peroxidase were increased by 59.10, 23.81, 41.75, and 9.39%, respectively. Meanwhile, contents of glutathione, ascorbic acid, non-protein thiols, and phytochelatins showed respective increases of 7.24, 14.49, 42.81, and 41.13% compared with the control value. Subcellular analysis revealed that surface spraying of anthocyanin increased organelle and soluble fractions of Cd in leaf cells. In conclusion, surface spraying of 7.5 g L-1 anthocyanin was mainly attributed to increased antioxidant activities and subcellular sequestration of Cd in organelles and soluble fractions in rice leaves to reduce Cd accumulation in rice grains in the field.The effects of diazinon (DZN), an organophosphate pesticide, on lipid profiles have been extensively reported. However, controversy on this issue persists. Here, we performed a systematic and meta-analysis study to investigate the association between DZN exposure and dyslipidemia in rodents and fish species. This systematic review was prepared according to the PRISMA guidelines. Main databases, including Google Scholar, Scopus, PubMed, Ovid MEDLINE, and Web of Science, were systematically searched through March 4, 2020. The risk of bias was evaluated with the SYRCLE's RoB tool. Once all articles were assessed for scientific quality, a random-effects model was applied to perform a pooled analysis. I2 and Q test were used to assess the heterogeneity between articles, and Forest plots, indicating point and pooled estimates, were drawn. Twenty-eight articles were included; between them, 13 publications were selected for meta-analysis. Random-effects meta-analysis showed low heterogeneity between the articles. A pooled analysis indicated that DZN significantly increased total cholesterol levels (95% CI 0.86-3.79; Z = 3.10; p = 0.002), triglyceride (95% CI 0.38-3.22; Z = 2.48; p = 0.09), low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (95% CI 0.25-2.85; Z = 2.34; p = 0.7) in the DZN vs. control groups. In addition, DZN significantly decreased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (95% CI - 2.92, - 0.42; Z = 2.62; p = 0.07) in the DZN vs. control groups. No publication bias was observed. Our findings suggest that DZN induces dyslipidemia in rodents and fish species in a dose-dependent manner.The development of low-carbon agriculture systems has been a global consensus to reduce carbon emissions in the agricultural sector for addressing climate change challenges. This fact brings the need to study the agricultural carbon emissions (ACEs). Studies focusing on calculating the spatiotemporal changes of ACEs and analyzing the main factors for ACE changes have been conducted. The agricultural technology inputs (ATIs) as an important factor to influence ACEs have been identified. The traditional linear model was the commonly used method to study the relationship between ATIs and ACEs, whereas the impact of ATIs on ACEs in different areas might be complex and nonlinear due to the differences in trade openness causing different development levels of agricultural technologies. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the effect of trade openness on the relationship between ATIs and ACEs using a panel threshold model and put forward policy implications for the low-carbon agriculture development. The analysis was based on data from a panel of 31 provinces of China during 2003-2018. The results show that ATIs and ACEs increased from 2003 to 2018 and the spatial distribution of ATIs was similar to that of ACEs. The ATIs had a positive effect on ACEs with a significant single-threshold effect from trade openness. When the trade openness was below the threshold (0.1425), the positive effect of ATIs on ACEs was significant (coefficient, 0.117), whereas, when the trade openness was above the threshold (0.1425), the positive effect of ATIs on ACEs significantly decreased (coefficient, 0.062). Furthermore, industrial structure and agricultural economic development were the positive drivers of ACEs, while trade openness, education level of rural workers, R&D funding, and natural disasters had negative relationships with ACEs. The results provide valuable references for understanding ACE drivers and developing low-carbon agriculture with the consideration of ATIs and trade openness.Air pollution exposure leads to increased mortality and morbidity rates of respiratory diseases. Most of the evidence was founded on acute diseases such as acute lower respiratory diseases. However, limited studies have been conducted to evaluate the effects of air pollution on chronic respiratory diseases. This time-series study was conducted to examine the acute effects of 6 criteria ambient air pollutants on hospital outpatients with chronic rhinitis (CR) in Xinxiang, China. We retrieved 223,826 outpatient records of patients with respiratory diseases, of which 62,901 were those of patients with CR. Results showed that the current 10-μg/m3 increase in fine particulate matter (PM2.5), inhalable particulate matter (PM10), sulfur dioxide (SO2), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), and carbon monoxide (CO) corresponds to 0.67% (95% confidence interval [CI] 0.15-1.18%), 0.58% (95% CI 0.24-0.92%), 1.89% (95% CI 0.52-3.27%), 3.01% (95% CI 1.66-4.35%), and 0.06% (95% CI 0.03-0.10%) increments in outpatients with CR, respectively.
