Furthermore, Krabbe disease screening can be achieved at public health laboratories, and infants with infantile Krabbe disease can be diagnosed in timely manner for better outcome.This study was aimed at evaluating the prevalence of use of dietary supplements (DSs) among gym users and gym instructors involved in body shaping-oriented fitness training. Furthermore, this study aimed to verify whether differences existed in the prevalence and in the types of DSs used in both gym users and gym instructors involved in body shaping-oriented fitness competitions vs. those not involved in fitness competitions. A survey was distributed to 316 participants, composed of 89 gym instructors and 227 gym users of both genders aged 27.3 ± 7.7. Among these participants, 52 were involved in competitions and 248 were not, while 16 participants did not specify either way. The results showed a high prevalence in the use of DSs in the population considered, with 85.4% of the participants declaring they used DSs, with high heterogeneity in the numbers and in the combinations used. No differences were found between gym instructors and gym users, or between participants involved and those not involved in competitions. The results indicate that DSs are widely used by persons involved in body shaping-oriented fitness training. The results also suggest that the majority of the participants decided individually which DSs to use.Malnutrition is highly prevalent in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) patients and disproportionately affects those admitted to hospital. Using a systems approach, this phase framework illustrates the effects of suffering on the patient and can be utilized to help the clinician, patient, family, and caregivers understand and respond to the patient's experiences. We highlight the constructs of severity, uncertainty, ambiguity, and chronicity and their role in the suffering endured by patients with ME/CFS. A composite case example is used to illustrate the lives of severely and very severely affected patients. Firstly, a self-developed olfactory visualization sensor was used to capture the odor information of rice samples at different storage periods and a portable spectroscopy system was employed to collect the near-infrared (NIR) spectra during rice storage. Then, principal component analysis (PCA) was performed on the pre-processed olfactory visualization sensor data and the NIR spectra, and the number of the best principal components (PCs) based on the single technique model was optimized during the backpropagation neural network (BPNN) modeling. Finally, the optimal PCs were fused at the feature level, and a BPNN detection model based on the fusion feature was established to achieve rapid measurement of fatty acid content during rice storage. The experimental results showed that the best BPNN model based on the fusion feature had a good predictive performance where the correlation coefficient (RP) was 0.9265, and the root mean square error (RMSEP) was 1.1005 mg/100 g. The overall results demonstrate that the detection accuracy and generalization performance of the feature fusion model are an improvement on the single-technique data model; and the results of this study can provide a new technical method for high-precision monitoring of grain storage quality.
