Central pancreatectomy is usually performed to excise lesions of the neck or proximal body of the pancreas. In the last decade, thanks to the advent of novel technologies, surgeons have started to perform this procedure robotically. This review aims to appraise the results and outcomes of robotic central pancreatectomies (RCP) through a systematic review and meta-analysis.
A systematic search of MEDLINE, Embase, and Web Of Science identified studies reporting outcomes of RCP. Pooled prevalence rates of postoperative complications and mortality were computed using random-effect modelling.
Thirteen series involving 265 patients were included. In all cases but one, RCP was performed to excise benign or low-grade tumours. Clinically relevant post-operative pancreatic fistula (POPF) occurred in 42.3% of patients. While overall complications were reported in 57.5% of patients, only 9.4% had a Clavien-Dindo score≥III. Re-operation was necessary in 0.7% of the patients. New-onset diabetes occurred postoperatively in 0.3% of patients and negligible mortality and open conversion rates were observed.

Early screening and intervention are crucial for the prevention and treatment of cervical cancer. TruScreen is a real-time, intelligent, pathological diagnostic technology designed for cervical cancer screening. The aim of this study was to evaluate the clinical value of TruScreen in screening for cervical lesions.
A total of 458 women aged between 25 and 65years were recruited to receive cervical cancer screening, including human papillomavirus (HPV) testing, cytological testing using the ThinPrep cytology test (TCT), and TruScreen from December 2018 to January 2020. The clinical performance of TruScreen, alone and in combination with HPV testing, was evaluated to detect cervical intraepithelial neoplasia grade 2 or worse (CIN2+ or CIN3+).
For detection of CIN2+, the sensitivity and specificity of TruScreen were 83.78% and 78.86%, respectively. The specificity of TruScreen was significantly higher than those of HPV testing (50.59%, P<0.001) and TCT (55.58%, P<0.001). In high-risk HPV-positive women, the specificity of HPV testing combined with TruScreen was significantly higher than that of HPV testing combined with TCT (50% vs 39.9%, P=0.004). The sensitivity of HPV testing combined with TruScreen was comparable to that of HPV testing combined with TCT (93.94% vs 87.88%, P=0.625). link3 Similar patterns were also observed for CIN3+ cases.

Early trauma is assessed and cognition is quantitated using the MATRICS. The method also includes the most comprehensive autonomic nervous system (ANS) battery used to date in psychiatric research. The aim of this experimental study was to test the method of prevention of postoperative complications, especially infectious, in partial dehiscence following stapler anastomosis in rectal surgeries.
The method includes the application of a hyaluronic acid-based gel in combination with triclosan, which has antibacterial properties. The gel was applied to the space around the rectum with an artificial, precisely defined dehiscence so that the dehiscence was separated from the rest of pelvis and the peritoneal cavity to avoid the spread of infection. The study included 30 female pigs. The rectosigmoid colon was mobilized and transected completely. Anastomosis was constructed with circular staplers. A perforator was then used to create precisely defined artificial dehiscence. Subsequently the lesser pelvis was filled with hyaluronic gel such that the site of artificial dehiscence was covered completely.
All animals survived for 14 days until the second-look revision with no signs of failure in the anastomosis healing, local inflammation, and sepsis or postoperative complications, such as chills, refusal of liquid or feed, abdominal distension, and bowel obstruction.
