Calcified ECM-CNs are unique cavernous malformations arising from CNs. Piecemeal resection and subtotal or near-total excision are 2 major aspects that differ from the surgical strategy for general ECM-CNs.

We previously identified E26 transformation specific sequence 1 (ETS1) rs73013527 single nucleotide polymorphism associated with RA susceptibility and disease activity. In the present study, we aims to further investigate the association between ETS1 rs73013527 and receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa B ligand (RANKL), an index related to bone destruction and was reported to elevate in RA.We determined genotypes of ETS1 rs73013527, serum RANKL concentration, clinical characteristics (disease duration, disease activity score for 28 painful/swollen joints), and laboratory markers (rheumatoid factor, anti-citrullinated protein antibody, anti-keratin antibody, c-reactive protein, erythrocyte sedimentation rate) of 254 RA cases. Univariate and multivariate analysis were employed to explore the association between ETS1 rs73013527 and serum RANKL levels in RA patients.Univariate and multivariate analysis indicated no association of serum RANKL levels with patient age, gender, clinical characteristics, and lan, erythrocyte sedimentation rate) of 254 RA cases. Univariate and multivariate analysis were employed to explore the association between ETS1 rs73013527 and serum RANKL levels in RA patients.Univariate and multivariate analysis indicated no association of serum RANKL levels with patient age, gender, clinical characteristics, and laboratory markers. Univariate analysis, not multivariate analysis indicated genotype CT/TT of ETS1 rs73013527 was significantly associated with elevated RANKL levels in RA patients.ETS1 rs73013527 is in relation to serum RANKL levels among patients with RA. Numerous studies have reported the variable quality of clinical practice guidelines (CPGs) across various domains. link= Veliparib The aim of this study was to systematically assess the quality, methodology, and consistency of recently developed traditional and conventional medicine CPGs that focus on the management of osteoporosis and provide helpful recommendations for patients with osteoporosis. From June 2020 to July 2020, CPGs with osteoporosis targeting any age were systematically retrieved. All CPGs of traditional and conventional medicine related to the assessment and diagnosis, management, and clinical therapeutic and pharmacological recommendations with osteoporosis were eligible for inclusion in this study. The excluded documents included guidelines without recommendations, secondary publications derived from CPGs, consensus statements, or consensus conferences based on the opinion of panelists, systematic reviews, editorials, clinical trials, and single-author documents. The quality of CPGs was independently exaith a mean value of 69.0% (range 46%-83%); "editorial independence" had the lowest score of 30.2% (range 0%-75%). The conventional CPGs focused on pharmacological treatments, calcium and vitamin D intake, and prevention, while the traditional CPGs consistently emphasized on herbal medicine and non-pharmaceutical treatment and management.Further development of CPGs will require improvement in domains where low item scores have been obtained in the quality assessment in this present study. Further research is needed on alternative modalities for osteoporosis, especially complementary approaches, and higher quality CPGs are needed to facilitate evidence-based clinical practice.

Controversy remains concerning the association of the all-cause mortality risk of hospitalized cardiovascular disease (CVD) patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). This study investigated the risks of all-cause mortality among hospitalized CVD patients with NAFLD.

We used related keywords to search for studies in 3 electronic databases PubMed, EMBASE, and Cochrane Library. All eligible studies published up to April 2020 were reviewed. The findings of those studies reporting the mortality outcomes of hospitalized CVD patients with and without NAFLD were examined, and the various study results were pooled and analyzed using a random-effects model. A quality assessment using the Newcastle-Ottawa scale was performed on the studies selected for inclusion in a meta-analysis.

A total of 2135 studies were found, of which 3 were included in this meta-analysis. All studies were considered good quality. The mean age of the patients in the analysis was 73 years, and about half of them were men. The comorbidities reported were hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and dyslipidemia. link2 The results showed that hospitalized CVD patients with NAFLD were at a significantly higher risk of all-cause mortality than non-NAFLD patients (adjusted hazard ratio of 2.08 [95% confidence interval, 1.56-2.59], P < .001). The included studies showed low heterogeneity (I2 = 0.0%, P = .473), and Begg and Egger tests revealed no apparent publication bias (P = .327 and P = .682, respectively).

Hospitalized CVD patients with NAFLD were at a higher risk of all-cause mortality than those without NAFLD. More studies that further explore this association are needed.

Studies on predicting factors for adverse pregnancy outcomes (APOs) in Thai patients with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) are limited. This retrospective observation study determined APOs and their predictors in Thai patients with SLE.Medical records of pregnant SLE patients in a lupus cohort, seen from January 1993 to June 2017, were reviewed.Ninety pregnancies (1 twin pregnancy) from 77 patients were identified. The mean age at conception was 26.94 ± 4.80 years. At conception, 33 patients (36.67%) had active disease, 23 (25.56%) hypertension, 20 (22.22%) renal involvement, and 6 of 43 (13.95%) positive anti-cardiolipin antibodies or lupus anti-coagulants, and 37 (41.11%) received hydroxychloroquine. Nineteen patients (21.11%) had pregnancy loss. Of 71 successful pregnancies, 28 (31.11%) infants were full-term, 42 (46.67%) pre-term and 1 (11.11%) post-term; 19 (26.39%) were small for gestational age (SGA), and 38 (52.58%) had low birth weight (LBW). Maternal complications occurred in 21 (23.33%) pregnan0 [4.60-3,564.46], P = .004) during pregnancy predicted flare; while prednisolone (>10 mg/day) and immunosuppressive drug use at conception reduced that risk (0.08 [0.01-0.68, P = .021).APOs remain a problem in Thai pregnant SLE patients. Veliparib Renal involvement and SLE flares were associated with the risk of APOs.

Falls can easily lead to serious injury and even death in the older adults. Many exercise interventions, such as balance, flexibility, and endurance training have been shown to reduce the incidence of falls in this population. However, which mode of exercise is most beneficial for them remains unanswered.

We will search the following databases as data sources PUBMED, EMBASE, Cochrane Library, Wanfang, China knowledge Network (CNKI), Clinical Trials Database, and Science Network. Data extraction will be performed by two independent reviewers, who will discuss and resolve any differences, with the consensus of a third author. The RCTs will be selected according to prespecified inclusion criteria. The main outcome is the occurrence of a fall, and the secondary outcomes are the adverse consequences of a fall and a fall risk assessment index. If the heterogeneity test shows slight or no statistical heterogeneity, a fixed effect model will be used for data synthesis; otherwise, a random effect model will be used. We will develop a unified data extraction table including a number of parameters. The Cochrane cooperative bias risk tool will be used to evaluate the methodological quality of the selected RCTs. RevMan Manager v5.3 software and STATA v16.0 software will be used for data analysis. If enough randomized controlled trials (more than 10) are identified and selected.

This protocol will be applied to synthesize the existing evidence so as to identify the most effective exercise program to prevent falls in the elderly.

Coronary Artery Disease is an ischemic or necrotic heart disease caused by myocardial hypoxia caused by coronary artery stenosis or occlusion. The main symptoms are heart failure and recurrent angina pectoris. Continuous nursing refers to the nursing mode from in-hospital nursing to out-of-hospital nursing, including guiding patients' follow-up treatment and lifestyle, which can effectively improve the quality of life in patients with Coronary Artery Disease and reduce the number of angina attacks. The study implemented in this program will systematically evaluate the efficacy and safety of continuous nursing intervention on an angina attack and quality of life in Coronary Artery Disease, and provide evidence-based basis for clinical application of continuous nursing intervention in Coronary Artery Disease.

The 2 researchers search the databases of China Knowledge Network, VP Information Chinese Journal Service Platform, PubMed, Embase, the Cochrane Library and Web of Science. From the establishment of the database in December 2020, all the randomized controlled trials on continuous nursing intervention for Coronary Artery Disease are collected. The relevant data are extracted and the quality is evaluated. meta-analysis is performed on the included literature using Stata15.0 software.

In this study, the efficacy and safety of continuous nursing intervention on Coronary Artery Disease are evaluated by Seattle angina questionnaire and other indicators.

This study will provide reliable evidence for the clinical application of nursing intervention in Coronary Artery Disease.

Dementia, a kind of acquired and progressive intelligence-damaging syndrome, is induced by cerebral dysfunction. link3 Ancient records show that Qi Fu Yin (QFY) has the advantages in age-related dementia treatment. This study aims to evaluate therapeutic efficacy of QFY on dementia through meta-analysis.

We comprehensively reviewed articles from various databases, including China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang, VIP, Chinese Biomedical Literature (CBM), PubMed, and Web of Science published before June 2020, for all randomized controlled trials (RCTs) on dementia treatment with QFY. Then, we selected eligible literatures, extracted related data, and assessed risk of bias. Forest plots of total clinical effective rate, MMSE score, HDS score and ADL score illustrated the difference between the experimental group (treatment with QFY alone or combined with routine western medicine) and the control group (treatment with routine western medicine only). link3 Random effects model and fixed effects model were adopted.
