The actual 'Shiel' family (Billy Shiel's father) started taking vessel trips to the Farne Countries in 1918 - just after the First World War. Farne Island Boats ' has long groups with the Sea on this rugged Northumberland coastline. Pictured about the right is the late Billy Shiel MBE whose grand daddy founded Farne Island Vessel Trips in 1918 soon after the 1st World War. We all currently have 11 boats, 6 Glad Tidings, 2 Street Cuthberts and our dangerously fast Rhib Ocean Explorer.
