Thermoelectric generators, consisting of six junctions using the same material combinations, led to electric output voltages of 0.4 mV for both setups at a temperature difference of 71 K. The results demonstrate the potential of electroless deposition for the production of thin-film-coated flexible textiles, and represent a key technology to achieve the direct integration of electrical sensors and conductors in non-conductive material. To assess the need for additional invasive coronary angiography (CAG) after initial computed tomography coronary angiography (CTCA) in patients awaiting non-coronary cardiac surgery and in patients with cardiomyopathy, heart failure or ventricular arrhythmias, and to determine differences between patients that were referred to initial CTCA or direct CAG, consecutive patients were included between August 2017 and January 2020 and categorized as those referred to initial CTCA (conform protocol), and to direct CAG (non-conform protocol). CPYPP ic50 Out of a total of 415 patients, 78.8% (327 patients, mean age 57.9 years, 67.3% male) were referred to initial CTCA, of whom 260 patients (79.5%) had no obstructive lesions (50% DS were detected in 16 patients (17.2%). Revascularization procedures were infrequently performed in both groups initial CTCA (3.0%), direct CAG (3.4%). The use of CTCA as a gatekeeper CAG in the diagnostic work-up of non-coronary cardiac surgery, cardiomyopathy, heart failure and ventricular arrhythmias is feasible, and only 17% of these patients required additional CAG after initial CTCA. Therefore, CTCA should be considered as the initial imaging modality to rule out CAD in these patients.A magnetically recyclable Ni/NiO/g-C3N4 photocatalyst with significantly enhanced H2 evolution efficiency was successfully synthesized by a simple ethanol-solvothermal treatment. The presence of electronegative g-C3N4 is found to be the key factor for Ni0 formation in ternary Ni/NiO/g-C3N4, which provides anchoring sites for Ni2+ absorption and assembling sites for Ni0 nanoparticle formation. The metallic Ni0, on one side, could act as an electron acceptor enhancing carrier separation and transfer efficiency, and on the other side, it could act as active sites for H2 evolution. The NiO forms a p-n heterojunction with g-C3N4, which also promotes carrier separation and transfer efficiency. The strong magnetic property of Ni/NiO/g-C3N4 allows a good recyclability of catalyst from aqueous solution. The optimal Ni/NiO/g-C3N4 showed a full-spectrum efficiency of 2310 μmol·h-1·g-1 for hydrogen evolution, which is 210 times higher than that of pure g-C3N4. This ethanol solvothermal strategy provides a facile and low-cost synthesis of metal/metal oxide/g-C3N4 for large-scale application.Dichlorvos (O,O-dimethyl O-(2,2-dichlorovinyl)phosphate, DDVP) is a widely acknowledged broad-spectrum organophosphorus insecticide and acaracide. This pesticide has been used for more than four decades and is still in strong demand in many developing countries. Extensive application of DDVP in agriculture has caused severe hazardous impacts on living systems. The International Agency for Research on Cancer of the World Health Organization considered DDVP among the list of 2B carcinogens, which means a certain extent of cancer risk. Hence, removing DDVP from the environment has attracted worldwide attention. Many studies have tested the removal of DDVP using different kinds of physicochemical methods including gas phase surface discharge plasma, physical adsorption, hydrodynamic cavitation, and nanoparticles. Compared to physicochemical methods, microbial degradation is regarded as an environmentally friendly approach to solve several environmental issues caused by pesticides. Till now, several DDVP-degrading microbes have been isolated and reported, including but not limited to Cunninghamella, Fusarium, Talaromyces, Aspergillus, Penicillium, Ochrobium, Pseudomonas, Bacillus, and Trichoderma. Moreover, the possible degradation pathways of DDVP and the transformation of several metabolites have been fully explored. In addition, there are a few studies on DDVP-degrading enzymes and the corresponding genes in microorganisms. However, further research relevant to molecular biology and genetics are still needed to explore the bioremediation of DDVP. This review summarizes the latest development in DDVP degradation and provides reasonable and scientific advice for pesticide removal in contaminated environments.(1) Background Onychomycosis (OM) is a fungal nail infection, considered a risk factor for diabetic foot ulcers. It is associated with changes in quality of life, in terms of pain, self-confidence and self-esteem. The aim was to translate and adapt the OM quality of life questionnaire "OnyCOE-tTM-Quality Of Life Questionnaire Onychomycosis (Nail Fungal Condition)". (2) Methods This study followed the guidelines proposed by Beaton et al. (2000), where two English to Portuguese translations were performed and, after an expert consensus, a common version was obtained. This was followed by two back-translations. The expert committee achieved semantic equivalence, idioms and concepts. The pre-test was applied to 49 people. The final version and processed data were sent to the authors. (3) Results We adapted terms semantically, modified statements syntactically, altering items from interrogative to affirmative. (4) Conclusions The translated version of the "Quality of life-Onychomycosis" questionnaire suggested that it can be used for further studies to test validity and reliability in this population. The spinal cord injury (SCI) is a medical and life-disrupting condition with devastating consequences for the physical, social, and professional welfare of patients, and there is no adequate treatment for it. At the same time, gene therapy has been studied as a promising approach for the treatment of neurological and neurodegenerative disorders by delivering remedial genes to the central nervous system (CNS), of which the spinal cord is a part. For gene therapy, multiple vectors have been introduced, including integrating lentiviral vectors and non-integrating adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors. AAV vectors are a promising system for transgene delivery into the CNS due to their safety profile as well as long-term gene expression. Gene therapy mediated by AAV vectors shows potential for treating SCI by delivering certain genetic information to specific cell types. This review has focused on a potential treatment of SCI by gene therapy using AAV vectors.
