We aim to develop an immune-score nomograms for predicting overall survival (OS) of patients with HNSCC and assess the association of immune scores with prognosis.
The data of 530 patients used in this study were retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas database. The optimization cut-point for immune scores was expressed by X-tile 3.6.1 tool. Possible prognostic factors from univariate Cox analysis were further included in a multivariate Cox proportional hazards analysis to obtain significant risk factors. Prognostic nomograms were constructed based on the factors of significant multivariate prognostic using R version 3.5.1. A calibration map was generated by comparing the nomogram prediction probability and the observation for the 3-year and 5-year OS rates.
We retrospectively analyzed 462 patients downloaded from TCGA dataset. Prognostic nomograms was integrated following risk factors of significant multivariate prognostic, such as age, angiolymphaic invasion (AI), perineura invasion(Per_invasion),tumorndividualized survival risk assessments and guide treatment decisions.
This study aims to understand the factors contributing to the severity of oropharyngeal dysphagia and its persistence in the sub-acute phase of stroke.
We retrospectively collected the data of all the patients suffering from a stroke in the last year. The severity of stroke was reported according to the NIHSS score. All the patients were evaluated with the Dysphagia Risk Score and with a FEES. We classified the Dysphagia Risk Score and FEES results using the PAS score and ASHA-NOMS levels. The data were analysed statistically with ANOVA test, Student's t test and Pearson's correlation coefficient.
A series of 54 patients were evaluated. The ANOVA test did not find any difference in the mean score of Dysphagia Risk Score, PAS and ASHA-NOMS when compared with the brain area of stroke. An NIHSS at hospital admission (stroke unit) of more than 12 was predictive of ASHA-NOMS score 1-4 after 60days (p < 0.05). A PAS score between 6 and 8 at first FEES evaluation was predictive of poor (1-4) ASHA-NOMS score after 60days (p < 0.01). A moderate positive linear correlation was found between NIHSS score and both PAS (r 0.65) and Dysphagia Risk Score (r 0.50); a moderate negative linear correlation was recorded between NIHSS and ASHA-NOMS (r - 0.66) scores.
In the sub-acute phase of stroke, the predictive factors of persistent dysphagia are not linked to the damaged neuroanatomical region and others factors such as NIHSS value and high PAS score seem more useful.

Merr.] has great economic and nutritional importance mainly due to its high protein content. All plant's N needs can be met by the symbiosis with elite Bradyrhizobium strains applied as inoculants to the seeds at sowing time; however, the increasing use of pesticides in seed treatments can impair the contribution of the biological nitrogen fixation. In this study, we report decreases in cell survival of two strains, B. japonicum SEMIA 5079 and B. elkanii SEMIA 587 in seeds inoculated and treated with StandakTop™, composed of the fungicides pyraclostrobin and thiophanate-methyl and the insecticide fipronil, the pesticides most used in soybean seed treatment in several countries. Cell death was enhanced with the time of exposure to the pesticides, and B. elkanii was less tolerant, with almost no detectable viable cells after 15 days. Change in colony morphology with smaller colonies was observed in the presence of the pesticides, being more drastic with the time of exposure, and attributed to an adaptive response towards survival in the presence of the abiotic stress. However, morphological changes were reversible after elimination of the stressing agent and symbiotic performance under controlled greenhouse conditions was similar between strains that had been or not exposed to the pesticides. In addition, no changes in DNA profiles (BOX-PCR) of both strains were observed after the contact with the pesticides. In two field experiments, impacting effects of the pesticides were observed mainly on the total N accumulated in grains of plants relying on both N2-fixation and N-fertilizer. Our data indicate that StandakTop® affects parameters never reported before, including colony morphology of Bradyrhizobium spp. A-438079 clinical trial and N metabolism and/or N remobilization to soybean grains.A novel electrochemical carbon cloth (CC) analysis device (eCAD) is proposed for the determination of Pb2+ in environmental water samples, which was assembled using a single-step functional CC as both the sensing and the substrate material. The modified CC was characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectra, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. The increase in electrochemical activity is due to the increased defective extent and excellent electrochemical activity of CC. Under optimum conditions (viz. a pH value of 4.5, deposition time of 160 s), the sensor is capable of determining Pb2+ by differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry (DPASV) at a typical working potential of - 1.0 V (vs. Ag/AgCl). Response is linear from 5.0 × 10-9 to 3.0 × 10-6 M Pb2+, and the detection limit is 4.8 nM (at S/N = 3). The sensor was successfully applied to the determination of Pb2+ in real samples, with apparent recoveries from 96.0 to 102.0% and a relative standard deviation of less than 3.4%. In addition, the integration of the sensor with signal collection components has enabled us to realize on-site analysis of Pb2+, which is highlighted as a new generation of electrode platform for the development of a portable analysis device.Graphical abstract.The entrapment of the ulnar nerve in Guyon's canal (GC) is a well-known wrist canalicular syndrome which is usually followed by a gradual combination of both sensitive and motor symptomatology. However, GC nerve compression could also cause a pure hand motor dysfunction. This condition, less frequent than the classic Guyon's syndrome, can be difficult to diagnose. Authors report a case series of eight patients affected by isolated compression of the ulnar nerve motor branch, due to piso-triquetrum or triquetro-hamate joint ganglia. Surgical technique and postoperative outcomes are discussed in this paper. The isolated compression of the ulnar nerve motor branch is a very rare clinical condition which is often linked to several causes. The rarity of the pathology is probably due to lack of knowledge and therefore to the difficulty in formulating a correct diagnosis. Surgical treatment appears to be decisive in most cases, although late diagnosis often leads to incomplete functional recovery.
