Various technologies are being developed to support safe driving. Among them, ADAS, including LDWS, is becoming increasingly common. This driver assistance system aims to create a safe road environment while compensating for the driver's carelessness. The driver is affected by external environmental factors such as rainfall, snowfall, and bad weather conditions. ADAS is designed to recognize the surrounding situation and enable safe driving by using sensors, but it does not operate normally in bad weather conditions. In this study, we quantitatively measured the effect of bad weather conditions on the actual ADAS function. Additionally, we conducted a vehicle-based driving experiment to suggest an improvement plan for safer driving. In the driving experiment, when the vehicle driving speed was changed in four stages of rainfall, it was confirmed that it affected the View Range value, where the primary variable is the visibility of ADAS. As a result of the analysis, we demonstrated that when the rainfall exceeded a precipitation of 20 mm, the ADAS sensor did not operate, regardless of the vehicle speed. This means that a problem affecting safe driving may occur due to functionality in bad weather situations in which the driver requires ADAS assistance. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a technology that can maintain the minimum ADAS functionality under rainfall conditions and other bad weather conditions.This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of feed supplementation with a medicinal herbs mixture (Hmix) and organic zinc (Zn), alone or in combination, on the antioxidant responses and mineral status of lambs infected with the gastrointestinal nematode parasite Haemonchus contortus. A total of 24 experimentally infected lambs were randomly allocated to 1 of 4 dietary treatments (n = 6). The diets included an unsupplemented control diet (CON) and the CON further supplemented with Hmix, Zn, or both Hmix + Zn. Antioxidant enzymes activities, lipid peroxidation, total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and microelement (Zn, Cu, Fe, Mn) concentrations were analyzed in serum, liver, kidney, and intestinal mucosa. Zinc treatment elevated the superoxide dismutase activities in the duodenal mucosa and ileal TAC. Intake of Hmix resulted in higher kidney and ileal catalase activity and also influenced the TAC of the liver and intestinal mucosa. The inclusion of Hmix or Zn alone into the diet increased glutathione peroxidase activity in the blood, liver and duodenal mucosa. Tissue mineral uptake was not affected by herbal supplementation. Organic Zn intake increased the serum and liver Zn levels and influenced the Cu concentration in duodenal mucosa. Dietary supplementation with Hmix and/or Zn might promote the antioxidant status of lambs infected with Haemonchus spp.

Dentists are at a higher risk of suffering from musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) than the general population. However, the latest study investigating MSD in the dental profession in Germany was published about 20 years ago. Therefore, the aim of this study was to reveal the current prevalence of MSD in dentists and dental students in Germany.

The final study size contained 450 (287 f/163 m) subjects of different areas of specialization. The age of the participants ranged from 23 to 75 years. The questionnaire consisted of a modified version of the Nordic Questionnaire, work-related questions from the latest questionnaire of German dentists, typical medical conditions and self-developed questions.

The overall prevalence showed that dentists suffered frequently from MSD (seven days 65.6%, twelve months 92%, lifetime 95.8%). The most affected body regions included the neck (42.7%-70.9%-78.4%), shoulders (29.8%-55.6%-66.2%) and lower back (22.9%-45.8%-58.7%). Overall, female participants stated that they suffered from pain significantly more frequently, especially in the neck, shoulders and upper back.

The designed double layer of indium tin oxide (ITO) films with specific carved structure realizes absorption and electromagnetic (EM) isolation in dual-polarization, as well as good air permeability. It is increasingly apparent that neurotoxic soluble oligomers formed by amyloidogenic proteins are the primary molecular drivers of these diseases, making them lucrative diagnostic and therapeutic targets. One promising diagnostic/therapeutic strategy has been the development of antibody fragments against amyloid oligomers. Antibody fragments, such as fragment antigen-binding (Fab), scFv (single chain variable fragments), and VHH (heavy chain variable domain or single-domain antibodies) are an alternative to full-length IgGs as diagnostics and therapeutics for a variety of diseases, mainly because of their increased tissue penetration (lower MW compared to IgG), decreased inflammatory potential (lack of Fc domain), and facile production (low structural complexity). Prospectively enrolled 51 patients had four PET/CT studies using the same protocol and system at baseline and after one, three, and six cycles of chemotherapy (PET0, PET1, PET3, PET6). The PET1 and PET6 Deauville five-point score (D5PS) agreed in 60.8%, while PET3 and PET6 D5PS agreed in 90.2%. The absolute and percent changes of peak standard uptake value corrected for lean body mass (SULpeak) compared to baseline were significantly different between PET1 and PET3 (p = 0.001, p less then 0.001) and PET1 and PET6 (p = 0.002, p = 0.001), but not between PET3 and PET6 (p = 0.276, p = 0.181). The absolute SULpeak from PET1 predicted treatment failure with accuracy of 78.4% (area under the curve 0.73, p = 0.023). D5PS, SULpeak, and metabolic tumor volume (MTV) were not statistically different between responders versus non-responders, or the one year disease-free versus relapse groups. D5PS and PERCIST responses showed 100% agreement at end-of-therapy. In conclusion, the responses after three and six cycles of therapy showed high degree of agreement. D5PS or MTV after one cycle of chemotherapy could not predict response or one-year disease-free status, but the SULpeak from PET1 was associated with response to first line therapy in DLBCL.
