II BC patients younger than 65 when compared to the scores of those with de novo stage IV BC. Although treatment with or without LRT did not affect physical health, mental health, daily activities, and energy at 3years vs. at diagnosis of BC in de novo stage IV BC patients (p> 0.05), these variables were significantly better in stage I-III BC patients (p< 0.001).

The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in drastic changes in the global healthcare delivery landscape and has had practical repercussions for cancer survivors. This systematic rapid living review has been undertaken to synthesise the available knowledge regarding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in a timely manner. This initial rapid review will present the findings of literature published up to August 27, 2020.
A systematic search of PubMed, Scopus and Google Scholar databases was conducted to identify all articles, available in English language, regarding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cancer survivors published between December 2019 and August 27, 2020. The search strategy employed the following search strings "covid-19 OR coronavirus OR sars-cov-2" with "cancer survivors OR cancer survivorship".
The database search yielded 1639 articles, of which 19 were included. Of the 19 selected articles, there were 12 expert opinion articles, two literature reviews, two prospective cohort studies, one reding the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cancer survivors. Currently available literature provides preliminary indications of wide-ranging impacts of the pandemic on cancer survivors with respect to the requirement to adapt to new means of healthcare delivery as well as their physical, psychosocial and economic wellbeing. The pandemic has left survivors dealing with the consequences of rigorous cancer treatment in the context of new challenges related to social isolation, financial hardship and uncertainty with respect to their ongoing care. The research team along with a group of established subject matter experts developed a training and companion materials for healthcare professionals to address this need. Post-assessment evaluation was reported in frequencies and percentages by combining results from learners who attended an original, live web-based training and learners who completed the same training on-demand via a Learning Management System. Learners from both the live and archived training reported that the training increased their knowledge to effectively work with sexual and gender minority prostate cancer survivors. Learners also reported gaining new resources and strategies they could apply to their work. Results indicate the training fills an educational gap for healthcare professionals and supports the need for additional training of healthcare professionals focused on the healthcare needs of SGM cancer survivors.The mounting global cancer burden has generated an increasing demand for oncologists to join the workforce. Yet, students report limited oncology exposure in undergraduate medical curricula, while undergraduate oncology mentorships remain underutilised. We established an undergraduate oncology society-led mentorship programme aimed at medical students across several UK universities to increase medical student oncology exposure. We electronically recruited and paired oncologist mentors and medical student mentees and distributed a dedicated questionnaire (pre- and post-mentorship) to compare mentees' self-reported cancer specialty knowledge and oncology career motivation after undertaking a 6-week mentorship. We also determined students' interest across specialties and subspecialties and measured mentor availability via percentage programme uptake. Statistical analysis included univariate inferential tests on SPSS software. Twentynine (23.4%) of 124 oncology specialists agreed to become mentors. The mentorship was completed by 30 students across three medical schools 16 (53.3%) Barts, 10 (33.3%) Birmingham, and 4 (13.3%) King's; 11 (36.7%) mentored by medical oncologists, 10 (33.3%) by clinical/radiation oncologists, and 9 (30%) by surgical oncologists. The mentorship generated a statically significant increase in students' knowledge of the multidisciplinary team and all oncology-related specialties including academia/research but not interest towards a career in oncology. Undergraduate oncology mentoring is an effective educational, networking and motivational tool for medical students. Student societies are a valuable asset in cultivating medical student oncology interest by connecting students to faculty and increasing mentor accessibility. Colon ischemia (CI) is injury to the intestines secondary to insufficient blood flow. Its clinical severity can range from mild to life-threatening.
To investigate predictive risk factors for CI and propose a scoring model for severe outcomes.
We retrospectively analyzed the medical records of patients admitted to Chungnam National University Hospital from January 2010 to December 2018. CI was defined as severe when patients required surgery immediately or after initial conservative management, death occurred after hospitalization, or symptoms persisted after 2weeks. By controlling for possible confounders from the logistic regression analysis, we obtained a new risk scoring model for the early prediction of severe CI. Furthermore, using the area under the receiver operating characteristics curve (AUROC), we assessed the accuracy of the model.
A total of 274 patients endoscopically diagnosed with CI were included, of whom 181 had severe CI. In the multivariate analysis, tachycardia, elevated C-reactive protein, Favier endoscopic classification stage ≥ 2, and history of hypertension were independently and significantly associated with severe CI. The AUROC of the model was 0.749.
This risk scoring model based on the presence of tachycardia, elevated C-reactive protein level, unfavorable endoscopic findings by Favier's classification, and the history of hypertension could be used to predict severe CI outcomes at an early stage.

There are only a few reports evaluating the applicability of endothelial-damage markers analysis by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in kidney allograft samples. This study analyzed the expression of Caveolin-1 (Cav), von Willebrand factor (Vwf), and T-cadherin (Cad) in kidney biopsies and their association with antibody-mediated injury.
In this retrospective study, 114 cases with antibody-mediated changes (Banff, 2020) and 72 with interstitial fibrosis/tubular atrophy were selected. IHC for Cav, Vwf and Cad was performed and evaluated according to their qualitative expression in peritubular capillaries. The cases were grouped according to the presence of microvascular inflammation (MVI), donor-specific antibodies (DSA), C4d positivity and antibody-mediated rejection (AMR). A level of significance < 0.05 was adopted.
