Group comparisons revealed that the ALPS index was significantly higher (P less then 0.05) in meningiomas without PTBE vs. meningiomas with PTBE and normal subjects. On the other hand, ALPS index was not different between meningiomas with PTBE and normal subjects. On Pearson correlation and multivariable linear regression analyses, the ALPS index was the only factor significantly (P less then 0.05) associated with PTBE volume. In conclusion, PTBE volume inversely correlated with ALPS index in meningiomas. PTBE formation in meningiomas may be related to glymphatic dysfunction.

In recent years, with the acceleration of life rhythm and increased pressure, the problem of sleep disorders has become more and more serious. It affects people's quality of life and reduces work efficiency, so the monitoring and evaluation of sleep quality is of great significance. Sleep staging has an important reference value in sleep quality assessment. This article starts with the study of sleep staging to detect and analyze sleep quality. For the purpose of sleep quality detection, this article proposes a sleep quality detection method based on electroencephalography (EEG) signals.

This method first preprocesses the EEG signals and then uses the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) for feature extraction. Finally, the transfer support vector machine (TSVM) algorithm is used to classify the feature data.

The proposed algorithm was tested using 60 pieces of data from the National Sleep Research Resource Library of the United States, and sleep quality was evaluated using three indicators sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy. Experimental results show that the classification performance of the TSVM classifier is significantly higher than those of other comparison algorithms. This further validated the effectiveness of the proposed sleep quality detection method.

Here we report that ecdysis triggering hormone (ETH) is an obligatory enabler of long-term courtship memory (LTM). Motor evoked potentials (MEP), obtained by transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) are a common tool in clinical research and diagnostic. Nevertheless, reports regarding the influence of filter settings on MEP are sparse. Here, we compared MEP amplitudes and signal to noise ratio (SNR) using multiple high pass filter (HPF) and notch filter settings.

Twenty healthy subjects were enrolled in the study. Recruitment curves were obtained with HPF settings varied at 10, 20, 50, and 100 Hz. The four HPF settings were tested both with and without 50 Hz active notch filter. Low pass filter was kept constant at 5 kHz.

MEP amplitudes with HPF at 10 and 20 Hz were significantly higher than at 100 Hz, regardless of the notch filter. However, SNR did not differ among HPF settings. An active notch filter significantly improved SNR.

The reduction in MEP amplitudes with HPF above 20 Hz may be due to noise reduction, since the different HPF conditions did not alter SNR. Thus, higher HPF above 50 Hz may be an option to reduce noise, the use of a notch filter may even improve SNR.

Our findings are relevant for the selection of filter settings and might be of importance to any researcher who utilizes TMS-MEP.

This multi-arm randomized controlled trial explored the impact of training with an electromechanically assisted gait training (EAGT) system, i.e., the Hybrid Assistive Limb® (HAL), when integrated with conventional rehabilitation focused on gait and mobility. Material and Methods Participants, aged 18-70 years with lower extremity paresis but able to walk with manual support or supervision 1-10 years after stroke, were randomized to (A) HAL-training on a treadmill, combined with conventional rehabilitation interventions (HAL-group), or (B) conventional rehabilitation interventions only (Conventional group), 3 days/week for 6 weeks, or (C) no intervention (Control group). Participants in the Control group were interviewed weekly regarding their scheduled training. Primary outcome was endurance in walking quantified by the 6 Minute Walk Test (6MWT). A rater blinded to treatment allocation performed assessments pre- and post-intervention and at follow-ups at 6 and 12 months.
