08 V, exhibit excellent cycle stability (205 cycles), and deliver high discharge specific capacity (17050 mAh g-1 ). Furthermore, pouch-type Li-O2 batteries that maintain stable electrochemical performance output even under conditions of bending deformation and corner cutting are successfully assembled. This study demonstrates Ru/Co@CoNx -C catalyst's great application potential in Li-O2 batteries.Rapid industrialization has inevitably led to serious air pollution problems, thus it is urgent to develop detection and treatment technologies for qualitative and quantitative analysis and efficient removal of harmful pollutants. Notably, the employment of functional nanomaterials, in sensing and photocatalytic technologies, is promising to achieve efficient in situ detection and removal of gaseous pollutants. Among them, carbon dots (CDs) have shown significant potential due to their superior properties, such as controllable structures, easy surface modification, adjustable energy band, and excellent electron-transfer capacities. Moreover, their environmentally friendly preparation and efficient capture of solar energy provide a green option for sustainably addressing environmental problems. Here, recent advances in the rational design of CDs-based sensors and photocatalysts are highlighted. An overview of their applications in air pollutants detection and photocatalytic removal is presented, especially the diverse sensing and photocatalytic mechanisms of CDs are discussed. Finally, the challenges and perspectives are also provided, emphasizing the importance of synthetic mechanism investigation and rational design of structures. The electronic properties of monolayer (ML) Ga2O3 and transport properties of ML Ga2O3-based n-type metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) are investigated by first-principles calculations under the framework of density functional theory (DFT) coupled with the nonequilibrium Green's function (NEGF) formalism. The results show that ML Ga2O3 has a quasi-direct band gap of 4.92 eV, and the x- and y-directed electron mobilities are 1210 and 816 cm2 V-1 s-1 at 300 K, respectively, under the full consideration of phonon scattering. The electron-phonon scattering mechanism shows a temperature-dependent behavior, with the acoustic modes dominating below 300 K and optical modes dominating above 300 K. At a gate length of Lg = 5 nm, the on-current of ML Ga2O3 n-MOSFET for high-performance (HP) application is 2890 μA/μm, which is more than those of the most reported two-dimensional (2D) materials. The delay time as well as the power delay product of ML Ga2O3 MOSFETs can meet the demands of the latest International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors (ITRS) for HP and low-power (LP) applications until Lg is less than 4 and 5 nm, respectively. Through underlap structure and doping optimization strategies, ML Ga2O3 n-MOSFET can further fulfill the ITRS requirements for 1 nm. At last, we compare the performance of the 32-bit arithmetic logic unit (ALU) built on ML Ga2O3 MOSFETs with the recently reported beyond-CMOS devices. Our results indicate that ML Ga2O3 can serve as a promising channel material in the post-silicon era.

Gestational diabetes (GDM) imposes long-term adverse health effects on the mother and fetus. The role of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) during early gestation in GDM has not been well-studied.

To investigate the role of quantitative MRI measurements of placental volume and perfusion, with distribution of maternal adiposity, during early gestation in GDM.

At UCLA outpatient antenatal obstetrics clinics, ∼200 pregnant women recruited in the first trimester were followed temporally through pregnancy until parturition. Two placental MRI scans were prospectively performed at 14 to 16 weeks and 19 to 24 weeks gestational age (GA). Placental volume and blood flow (PBF) were calculated from placental regions of interest; maternal adiposity distribution was assessed by subcutaneous fat area ratio (SFAR) and visceral fat area ratio (VFAR). Statistical comparisons were performed using the two-tailed t test. read more Predictive logistic regression modeling was evaluated by area under the curve (AUC).

Of a total 186 subjects, 21 subjects (11.3%) developed GDM. VFAR was higher in GDM vs the control group, at both time points (P < 0.001 each). Placental volume was greater in GDM vs the control group at 19 to 24 weeks GA (P = 0.01). Combining VFAR, placental volume and perfusion, improved the AUC to 0.83 at 14 to 16 weeks (positive predictive value [PPV] = 0.77, negative predictive value [NPV] = 0.83), and 0.81 at 19 to 24 weeks GA (PPV = 0.73, NPV = 0.86).

A combination of MRI-based placental volume, perfusion, and visceral adiposity during early pregnancy demonstrates significant changes in GDM and provides a proof of concept for predicting the subsequent development of GDM.

Twenty-seven 1,3-diarylpropan-1-ols were obtained in good to excellent yields (up to 96%) and enantiomeric purities (up to 982). Our data suggested that the enones are first reduced to the corresponding dihydrochalcones (1,4-selectivity) and then into 1,3-diarylpropan-1-ols (C═O reduction). The stereoelectronic effects of electron-donating and electron-withdrawing groups at the ortho, meta and para positions of both aromatic rings were evaluated. The 2-OH group at the B ring was well tolerated, allowing a straightforward enantioselective synthesis of two flavans through the Mitsunobu cyclization, the antiviral (S)-BW683C and the natural flavan (S)-tephrowatsin E.The Dark Triad (Machiavellianism, psychopathy, narcissism) is associated with online disinhibition and antisocial online behaviors. However, the mediating role between online disinhibition and online trolling has never previously been investigated. We examined direct and indirect associations between online disinhibition and online trolling via the Dark Triad among 1,303 participants. The results showed that online disinhibition is positively correlated with online trolling, and their link is partly mediated by Machiavellianism and psychopathy. Furthermore, men exhibited higher levels of Dark Triad traits and were more likely to engage in online trolling than women. Moderated mediation analyses indicated that gender moderated the relationship between psychopathy and online trolling. The study provided a promising perspective for the intervention of online trolling, namely netizens should be taught to reduce impulsivity and improve empathy and self-control, especially for men.Interactions between particles moving on a linear track and their possible blocking by obstacles can lead to crowding, impeding the particles' transport kinetics. When the particles are enzymes processively catalyzing a reaction along a linear polymeric substrate, these crowding and blocking effects may substantially reduce the overall catalytic rate. Cellulose hydrolysis by exocellulases processively moving along cellulose chains assembled into insoluble cellulose particles is an example of such a catalytic transport process. The details of the kinetics of cellulose hydrolysis and the causes of the often observed reduction of hydrolysis rate over time are not yet fully understood. Crowding and blocking of enzyme particles are thought to be one of the important factors affecting the cellulose hydrolysis, but its exact role and mechanism are not clear. Here, we introduce a simple model based on an elementary transport process that incorporates the crowding and blocking effects in a straightforward way. This is achieved by making a distinction between binding and non-binding sites on the chain. The model reproduces a range of experimental results, mainly related to the early phase of cellulose hydrolysis. Our results indicate that the combined effects of clustering of binding sites together with the occupancy pattern of these sites by the enzyme molecules play a decisive role in the overall kinetics of cellulose hydrolysis. It is suggested that periodic desorption and rebinding of enzyme molecules could be a basis of a strategy to partially counter the clustering of and blocking by the binding sites and so enhance the rate of cellulose hydrolysis. The general nature of the model means that it could be applicable also to other transport processes that make a distinction between binding and non-binding sites, where crowding and blocking are expected to be relevant. Objective Methylphenidate is effective in reducing the clinical symptoms of patients with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). ORADUR®-methylphenidate is a new extended-release preparation of methylphenidate. This study aimed at identifying brain regions with activation changes and their correlations with neuropsychological functions after treatment with ORADUR-methylphenidate in children with ADHD. Methods We recruited drug-naive children with ADHD and age- and sex-matched typically developing (TD) children. They were all scanned with the functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) during the counting Stroop task at baseline, and those with ADHD had the second fMRI assessment after 8-week treatment with ORADUR-methylphenidate. The Rapid Visual Information Processing (RVP) and Conners' Continuous Performance Test (CCPT) were used to assess the attention performance of the ADHD (before and after treatment) and TD groups. Results ORADUR-methylphenidate significantly decreased inattention (Cohen d = 2.17) and hyperactivity-impulsivity (Cohen d = 0.98) symptoms. We found less activation in the right inferior frontal gyrus (rIFG) in the pre-treatment ADHD children than TD children and greater treatment-induced activation in the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex (dACC) and the right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (rDLPFC). There was no significant difference between the post-treatment ADHD and TD groups. However, the treatment-related activations in the dACC, rDLPFC, and rIFG were significantly correlated with CCPT and RVP measures. Conclusions Our findings indicated that ORADUR-methylphenidate increased brain activations in the dACC, rDLPFC, and rIFG in children with ADHD, associated with improved focused attention, reduced impulsivity, and enhanced inhibition control. Activities of these brain regions might be biomarkers for the treatment effectiveness of methylphenidate for ADHD.
