Four type are derived regardingperception of airborne infection Type I (Government responsibility), Type II (Personal responsibility in self-management), Type III (Strict external management) and Type IV (Comprehensive countermeasures management). Thesefour types accounted for 45.6% of the total variance, and the individual contributions of Types I, II, III, and IV were 27.7, 7.6, 6.2, and 4.1%, respectively.

The major contribution of this study is to clarify university students' perceptions of airborne infection. These findings can be used in formulating effective strategies for health education, media reporting, and public health policy to improve airborne infection management.

Surgical Site Infections (SSIs) are among the leading causes of the postoperative complications. This study aimed at investigating the epidemiologic characteristics of orthopedic SSIs and estimating the under-reporting of registries using the capture-recapture method.

This study, which was a registry-based, cross-sectional one, was conducted in six educational hospitals in Tehran during a one-year period, from March, 2017 to March, 2018. The data were collected from two hospital registries (National Nosocomial Infection Surveillance System (NNIS) and Health Information Management database (HIM)). First, all orthopedic SSIs registered in these sources were used to perform capture-recapture (N = 503). Second, 202 samples were randomly selected to assess patients` characteristics.

Totally, 76.24% of SSIs were detected post-discharge. Staphylococcus aureus (11.38%) was the most frequently detected bacterium in orthopedic SSIs. The median time between the detection of a SSI and the discharge was 17 days. Then Prevention and Control (IPC) programs and providing updated protocols is recommended.

Coverage of palliative care in low and middle-income countries is very limited, and global projections suggest large increases in need. Novel approaches are needed to achieve the palliative care goals of Universal Health Coverage. This study aimed to identify stakeholders' data and information needs and the role of digital technologies to improve access to and delivery of palliative care for people with advanced cancer in Nigeria, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

We conducted a multi-country cross-sectional qualitative study in sub-Saharan Africa. In-depth qualitative stakeholder interviews were conducted with N= 195 participants across Nigeria, Uganda and Zimbabwe (advanced cancer patients n= 62, informal caregivers n= 48, health care professionals n= 59, policymakers n= 26). Verbatim transcripts were subjected to deductive and inductive framework analysis to identify stakeholders needs and their preferences for digital technology in supporting the capture, transfer and use of patient-level data to improve delivery nt of digital health approaches that can support the attainment of global health palliative care policy goals.

We identified design and practical challenges to optimise potential for success in developing digital health approaches to improve access to and enhance the delivery of palliative cancer care in Nigeria, Uganda and Zimbabwe. Synthesis of findings identified 15 requirements to guide the development of digital health approaches that can support the attainment of global health palliative care policy goals.

MicroRNA (miR)-200c has been widely reported to be involved in colon cancer progress. However, the mechanisms of miR-200c in regulating tumor metastasis and growth remain to be fully elucidated. selleck chemical This study aimed to investigate the mechanism of miR-200c targets fucosyltransferase 4 (FUT4) on the proliferation of colon cancer.

The miR-200c and FUT4 mRNA levels in LoVo and SW480 cells were measured by real-time quantitative polymerase chain reaction. Further, miR-200c mimic, FUT4 siRNA and FUT4 mimic were transfected into cells, separately. Cell counting kit-8, plate colony formation and transwell assays were used to analyse the cells biological behaviour.. Immunofluorescence was used to analyse the Ki-67 expression Moreover, the Wnt/β-catenin pathway-related proteins were detected by western blots. A double luciferase experiment was performed to confirm the relationship between miR-200c and FUT4. In vivo, tumour growth and Wnt/β-catenin pathway-related proteins were also analysed.

In vitro, the expression of miR-200c and FUT4 were negatively correlated in LoVo and SW480 cells (correlation coefficients were - 0.9046 and - 0.9236, respectively). MiR-200c overexpression inhibited the proliferation, migration and invasion of LoVo and SW480 cells by downregulating FUT4. The Ki67-positive cells and Wnt/β-catenin signalling pathway-related proteins were reduced in the miR-200c overexpression and FUT4 silencing groups. A dual luciferase reporting system identified FUT4 as the target of miR-200c. The results in vivo were further confirmed the foundation of cells study.

In summary, miR-200c overexpression inhibits proliferation of colon cancer targeting FUT4 to downregulate the Wnt/β-catenin pathway, which promises molecular targets to inhibit metastasis for colon cancer therapy.

Per UNICEF's Nurturing Care Framework, early childhood development (ECD) begins during pregnancy and many lower-resource settings need data to inform their programs for optimal child development. The maternal-fetal relationship can be partly examined via a series of bonding activities called early stimulation behaviors (ESB). This study describes early stimulation behaviors and the associated correlates among pregnant women in Ghana.

This cross-sectional study used data from a cluster-randomized trial in two districts of Northern Ghana. A total of 374 pregnant women were enrolled at baseline and administered a pre-intervention survey. Communication-related early stimulation behaviors was the primary outcome which was evaluated using three maternal-fetal bonding activities; did the woman self-report touching and/or talking, singing, and/or talking about family to her belly. A generalized estimating equation modified Poisson model was used for the bivariate and multivariable analysis.

About half of the participants reported performing communication-related ESB during pregnancy frequently or sometimes.
