A considerable number of patients experience relapse after transplantation, and further salvage management has included the use of allogeneic transplantation and radiotherapy. In the past decade, novel therapies including, brentuximab vedotin, PD-1 inhibitors, and the incorporation of PET-imaging into management have changed the paradigm of relapsed/refractory disease care. Novel therapies have been investigated in both single and combination regimens with other novel therapies and traditional chemotherapies. There is promising early work into the utility of CD30.CAR-T cell therapy, AFM13, camidanlumab tesirine, novel PD-1 inhibitors, and JAK1/JAK2 inhibition in management. Herein, we will review current salvage therapies in Hodgkin lymphoma and future directions in relapsed/refractory disease management.

The aortic root is a uniquely sensitive region as it anatomically encompasses the aortic valve leaflets and gives origin to the coronary arteries. These associated structures, in addition to the aortic tube, itself, add immensely to the complexity of replacing this segment when it is aneurysmal or dissected. Given this complexity, many contemporary choices for treatment of aortic root aneurysms have evolved over the past few decades.

The aim of this study was to provide an updated review of the literature regarding various surgical options for management of aortic root aneurysmal disease. A systematic search in PubMed database was performed for articles related to various aortic root surgeries and outcomes published between 1998 and 2020.

Available therapies include enzyme replacement and hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. In the last two decades, newborn screening (NBS) has focused on early identification of the disorder, allowing early intervention and avoiding irreversible manifestations. Techniques developed and optimized for MPS I NBS include tandem mass-spectrometry, digital microfluidics, and glycosaminoglycan quantification. Several pilot studies have been conducted and screening programs have been implemented worldwide. NBS for MPS I has been established in Taiwan, the United States, Brazil, Mexico, and several European countries. All these programs measure α-L-iduronidase enzyme activity in dried blood spots, although there are differences in the analytical strategies employed. Screening algorithms based on published studies are discussed. However, some limitations remain one is the high rate of false-positive results due to frequent pseudodeficiency alleles, which has been partially solved using post-analytical tools and second-tier tests; another involves the management of infants with late-onset forms or variants of uncertain significance. Nonetheless, the risk-benefit ratio is favorable. Furthermore, long-term follow-up of patients detected by neonatal screening will improve our knowledge of the natural history of the disease and inform better management.Liposomes are nano-structured vesicles, made up of phospholipids that provide active ingredients at the site of action at a predetermined rate and add the advantage of the sustained-release formulation. Liposomes have stability issues that tend to agglomerate and fuse upon storage, which reflects their drawback. Hence to overcome the aggregation, fusion, hydrolysis, and/or oxidation problems associated with liposomes a new technology named Proliposomes has been introduced. Proliposomes are defined as carbohydrate carriers coated with phospholipids, which upon addition of water generate liposomes. The objective of the review is to cover the concept of proliposomes for pulmonary or alveolar delivery of drugs and compare it with that of liposomes; highlight the methods used for preparations along with the characterization parameters. This is the first systematic review that covers the categorization of liposomes, characteristic methods, and recent examples of drugs from 2015 to 2021, supplied in form of proliposomes to the macrophages as well as others and offers an advantage over the free drug by offering a prolonged drug release and sufficient bioavailability in addition to overcome the stability issues related to liposomes. Traditionally, the evaluation of these programs is focused on attitudes, knowledge and skills, but according to some authors, the evaluation of these activities should be expanded to include the evaluation of the development of an interprofessional identity. The Interprofessional Socialization and Valuing Scale (ISVS) is a self-report tool used to measure interprofessional socialization, but it has not been validated with Spanish students. In this study, the tool was translated into Spanish and administered to a sample of 645 undergraduate students. The data were analyzed to estimate structural validity, internal consistency and convergent validity. Regarding the structural validity, our data supported the unidimensional model found in the English version of the ISVS-21 (normed chi-square = 2.3, RMSEA = 0.045, SRMR = 0.087, CFI = 0.963 and TLI = 0.969). The internal consistency reliability of the scale was adequate, Cronbach α = 0.913 [95% CI 0.903, 0.923]. The Spanish version of the ISVS-21 shows adequate psychometric properties in terms of the construct validity (structural validity and convergent validity) and internal consistency of its scores. This study provides the Spanish-speaking population with an adaptation of the only instrument that has been specifically developed to assess interprofessional socialization.

Dysphagia and choking are highly prevalent in adults with mental health conditions. However, there is scant research considering the personal experience of dysphagia for this population.

To understand the evidence-base for strategies to involve the patient in recognition, assessment and treatment of mealtime difficulties.

This integrative review synthesised the literature on the experience of dysphagia in patients with mental health conditions. Patient consultation led to co-designed search terms and eligibility criteria for a systematic search of five scientific databases following Prisma guidance. Quality assessment of the eligible studies and reflexive thematic analysis were completed.

31 studies were included for review. These included case reports, literature reviews and cross-sectional studies. Quality of evidence was weak and no intervention studies were identified. There was scant detail regarding the personal experience of dysphagia or choking. Themes identified related to biomedical perspectives, influencing factors presented without context, and decision-making led by clinicians.

Further inclusive research is indicated to explore the impact of dysphagia and choking, and implications for interventions and outcome measures.This phase II clinical trial investigates a one-time oromucosal dose of tetrahydrocannabinol/cannabidiol (THC/CBD) in 23 patients with indolent leukemic B cell lymphomas. Primary endpoint was a significant reduction in leukemic B cells. Grade 1 - 2 adverse events were seen in 91% of the patients; most common were dry mouth (78%), vertigo (70%), and somnolence (43%). After THC/CBD a significant reduction in leukemic B cells (median, 11%) occurred within two hours (p = .014), and remained for 6 h without induction of apoptosis or proliferation. Normal B cells and T cells were also reduced. CXCR4 expression increased on leukemic cells and T cells. All effects were gone by 24 h. Our results show that a single dose of THC/CBD affects a wide variety of leukocytes and only transiently reduce malignant cells in blood. Based on this study, THC/CBD shows no therapeutic potential for indolent B cell lymphomas (EudraCT trial no. 2014-005553-39).
