our source of Warcraft Item Upgrades
Item upgrades can be used to improve the stats of a particular item. Depending on the type of upgrade, it can increase the rarity of an item, or its Mark Level and increase other stats.
Each item has a track to upgrade it. Each upgrade increases the cost of the next item by a specific amount.
Item Level
When an item is upgraded, its basic stats increase in value. This value is the total of all of its leveled up advantages (attack magic attack, attack defense). The cost of upgrading items can be high, depending on the upgrader and the type of upgrade you choose to make. This is due to the sheer number of perks that have to be altered to upgrade an item.
The level of an item is a widely used measurement of power and is visible on all tooltips for items. It is also used to limit the amount of PvP gear players can wear since PvP is not available at a lower level. The average item level can be found on the character sheet.
When deciding whether to purchase or sell equipment players can look at the item level. It's a good indicator of the quality of an item and how much damage it's able to deal. Comparing items from the inventory of a seller is possible using the level of the item.
The level of the item can be viewed by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will show the item's full description, including the ilvl. You can also find it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel in chat.
There are various theories about how the item level calculation is done. One theory is that the item level is a number derived from a formula that calculates the value of an item's stats are worth. It is based on the fact that different perks are valued differently, and that gems in sockets increase the value of the item. This process could result in a calculated amount for the item's level, which is usually quite close to Blizzard's real item level.
This isn't the only factor that affects the level of an item. The location of where the item dropped can also alter its stats. For instance it can increase the item's haste or crit score. This means that items dropped at higher levels will have more value than items dropped in lower-level instances.
Item Stats
The item's stats can be the difference between a good or bad item for players. The game uses a lot of them in different ways to encourage players to play with a variety of weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the most effective." The stat modifications of a weapon boost the base stats. These stat mods are then increased by a player's level.
The upgrades to items add by increasing certain stats on the item. The rarity of an item determines the cost of upgrading. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, while items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times at higher prices.
Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosters that can be added by the player to an item. The affixes can be used to give items additional damage or other special abilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs) or to distinguish them by putting a name on them.
Presently, all affixes are able to be changed by selecting them from the upgrade window and pressing the green button using circling arrows. This will cost a certain amount of gold and other items. These can be used as upgrade gauges, just like the other rerolling methods.
Players can upgrade an item by a specific stat, or reroll the affixes. The range of stats determined by the item's level. However, all items will include at least one stat in the same range, unless it's an exclusive item or the item is a God Roll from a raid boss.
Another thing that could be changed is the option to upgrade equipment without having to reroll affixes, or choose which stats to boost. Like the base equipment, this must be done per item, and the interface for item comparison will not show all possible stats simultaneously.
Item Luck
The Luck stat of a player stacks up to increase the odds of item discoveries, the properties spawned on loot drops and the intensity of these properties. It doesn't, however directly impact damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with the chance to upgrade their equipment earlier in the game. This is particularly beneficial in early game runs since players tend to prioritize defenses and weapon scaling over raw damage gains.
Luck can also increase the likelihood of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This should not be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance which increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.
The shields, armor and weapons have an initial Luck value of 40. These items can then be upgraded with golden ingots, spined leather or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to boost the existing Luck of an item up to 140.
Additionally there are certain items, like the Hollow infused weapon can be used to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5%. These items can be found in the shop or crafted by using the appropriate ingredients.
Item Failure
Upgrades to items can be a costly process and not all upgrades will be successful. Cash shop items can be used to boost the chances of success for an upgrade or to stop players from losing their items if it fails.
When our source upgrade an item, the success rate is shown in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the chance of successfully upgrading the item and can be increased by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on the extent to which success rates can be increased and the chance of a failed upgrade cannot exceed 100%.
The luck of an item can also influence the effectiveness of an upgrade. All items have an overall success rate of 25%, and every item with Luck increases this chance by five percent.
Note that upgrades to items are rendered above the inventory items which means that enchantment glints and other effects may be obscured by them. If item upgrade wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
