By programming the length of polyAs, we precisely engineered the spatial configuration of the anti-miRNA sequences in polyA-SNAs. Compartmentalized polyA-SNAs bind to miRNAs with improved capture ability as compared to densely compacted SNAs. We further demonstrate that polyA-SNAs serve as high-efficacy miRNA sponges for capturing oncogenic miRNAs both in living cells and in mice. Here, we focused on its precise roles in oxidative stress underlying the pathogenesis of ARC. CircZNF292, microRNA (miR)-222-3p, and E2F transcription factor 3 (E2F3) were quantified by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction or western blot. Cell viability was assessed by the cell counting kit-8 assay. Cell cycle distribution and apoptosis were detected by flow cytometry. The activities of superoxide dismutase, catalase, and malondialdehyde were measured using the corresponding assay kit. Targeted correlations among circZNF292, miR-222-3p, and E2F3 were verified by the dual-luciferase reporter, RNA immunoprecipitation and RNA pull-down assays. Our data showed that circZNF292 was downregulated in ARC tissues and H2 O2 -treated human lens epithelial B3 (HLE-B3) cells. Increased expression of circZNF292 alleviated H2 O2 -induced cell viability suppression, apoptosis promotion, and oxidative stress enhancement. Mechanistically, circZNF292 directly targeted miR-222-3p, and circZNF292 regulated E2F3 expression through miR-222-3p. MiR-222-3p was a functional mediator of circZNF292 in modulating H2 O2 -induced injury in HLE-B3 cells. Furthermore, reduced level of miR-222-3p ameliorated H2 O2 -induced HLE-B3 cell damage by upregulating E2F3. Wistar rats are fed with high-fat diet (HFD) to induce hypercholesterolemia and supplemented with red-fleshed apple (HFD+R), white-fleshed apple (HFD+W), or an ACN-rich infusion from aronia fruit (HFD+A) providing matched content and profile of ACN. Plasma biochemical parameters, histological analysis, and phenol biological metabolites are determined. Plasma, urine, and feces show a significant increase of ACN metabolites after HFD+R and HFD+A, while flavan-3-ols are significantly increased after HFD+W and dihydrochalcones derivatives increased after both apples supplementation. A cardioprotective effect is observed after both apples and aronia infusion supplementation in the reduction of aortic thickness. The kidney function is improved after all supplementations and a decrease in insulin plasma concentration after both apples supplementation (HFD+R and HFD+W) is also observed. The metastatic process in breast cancer is associated with Na+ -dependent Pi transporters. In this study, we demonstrate, for the first time, that resveratrol inhibits the Na+ -dependent Pi transporter. Results from kinetic analysis shows that resveratrol inhibits Na+ -dependent Pi transport non-competitively. Resveratrol also inhibits adhesion/migration in MDA-MB-231 cells, likely related to inhibition of the Na+ -dependent Pi transporter.

Studies have reported a positive effect on bone healing and the elimination of microorganisms placed on the titanium implants, while others have not confirmed the positive photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) effects on bone regeneration and bone structure around the implants.

The aim of the present study was to address the following questions Does PBMT improve implant stability and affect microbiota around dental implants in the early stage of osseointegration?

This study was designed as randomized-controlled prospective, split mouth, single-blinded clinical trial. Implants were randomly divided into two groups and implants placed in the test group were treated with Gallium-aluminum-arsenide (GaAlAs) diode laser with PBMT immediately after surgery and for 15 days (n=47). In the control group, implants were not irradiated(n=46). The primary stability of the implants was measured by the Resonance frequency analysis (RFA) after insertion and the secondary stability values were recorded at 30th, 60th, and 90th days after surgery as implant stability quotient (ISQ).
