The intensity of DGT sampling modification was consistent with a prediction based on Donnan partitioning of analytes at gel/solution interface for several valences (from -I to + III). All these results strongly suggest that the APA diffusive gels carry positive charges that create a Donnan effect at low ionic strength. Since no ionic strength effect could be evidenced at pH 6 and 8, it can be reasonably assumed that this effect occurs only marginally for DGT deployments in most natural waters.In this work, a three-dimensional mesoporous graphene (3D-MG) prepared by microwave-assisted method was used as both the adsorbent and the matrix of SALDI-TOF MS for polyphenols analysis in biological samples. The outstanding microstructure of 3D-MG made it sensitive in small molecule analysis with low background interference and able to enrich trace polyphenols from complex samples. 3D-MG performed much better in the detection of small molecules than graphene prepared by ordinary method, and could further improve sensitivity and reduce detection limit by enrichment. Due to its unique hierarchical mesoporous structure, the interference of biological macromolecules in SALDI analysis could be eliminated after treatment by 3D-MG. Finally, 3D-MG was successfully applied to the screening of polyphenols in biological samples with simple process and high throughput. Moreover, this strategy had also promoted the development of new matrix in SALDI-TOF MS analysis, in which the matrix properties, adsorption capabilities and size effects of graphene-based materials were combined for the first time.Simultaneously rapid detection of trace adulterants in the complex systems of food without extraction is considered highly challenging. Herein, a high-throughput and rapid methodology, multi-molecular infrared (MM-IR) spectroscopy was developed for simultaneous detection of multiple trace adulterants in food. Flour was applied to demonstrate the capabilities of MM-IR with spatial resolution, spectral qualitative and quantitative analysis. Signals of 5 trace adulterants (rongalit, potassium bromate, borax, aluminum potassium sulfate and fluorescent brighter) were spatially revealed by IR hyperspectral imaging with group-peak matching, and further unveiled spectrally with second derivative two dimensional correlation infrared (SD-2DCOS IR) spectroscopy for higher resolution. Moreover, quantitative analysis of trace adulterants was conducted with partial least squares (PLS) modeling in ppm level. Composed of the above techniques and a series of resolution enhancement techniques (MW-2DCOS IR, 2T-2DCOS IR, etc.), MM-IR presented significant advantages on simultaneous detection of trace adulterants in food and therefore possessed the potential for food comprehensive analysis.Some wastewater sources, such as agricultural waste and runoff, and industrial sewage, can degrade water quality. This study summarises the sources and corresponding mechanisms that trigger eutrophication in lakes. Additionally, the trophic status index and water quality index (WQI) which are effective tools for evaluating the degree of eutrophication of lakes, have been discussed. This study also explores the main nutrients (nitrogen and phosphorus) driving transformations in the water body and sediment. Lake Erhai was used as a case study, and it was found to be in a mesotrophic state, with N and P co-limitation before 2006, and only P limitation since 2006. Finally, effective measures to maintain sustainable development in the watershed are proposed, along with a framework for an early warning system adopting the latest technologies (geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing (RS)) for preventing eutrophication.The paramedian supracerebellar craniotomy is an underrecognized route to the midline and paramedian regions of the upper posterior brainstem. As compared with its midline supracerebellar counterpart, this less disruptive approach preserves the majority of the midline bridging veins, requires less cerebellar retraction, and is significantly more efficient. In this offering, I will emphasize the realities of this flexible route and its remarkable advantages in reaching deep-seated lesions.Induced abortion has always been a challenging topic; however, it needs to be discussed during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.Objective To investigate whether CT coronary angiography (CTA) can safely and effectively reduce the number of invasive coronary angiography (ICA) in patients with non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) whose Grace score is low-or moderate-risk, and increase ICA positive rate. Methods One hundred and two NSTEMI patients, including 61 males and 41 females, aged 38-80 (58±12) years, were prospectively included and treated in Henan Provincial People's Hospital from February 2017 to February 2018. By using random number method, the patients were divided into control group (51 cases) and experimental group (51 cases). Patients in the control group were arranged for elective ICA examination according to the risk stratification. If further intervention or surgical treatment was required, the ICA examination was positive; in the experimental group, the CTA examination was completed through the green channel first. If the CTA showed that the main coronary artery and its main branches were severe or exrse events (8 cases vs 10 cases, P=0.548) within 1 year between the two groups. Conclusion CTA significantly reduces the number of ICA and the average length of hospital stay, and increases the positive rate of ICA in NSTEMI patients whose Grace score is low-or moderate-risk. There is no increase in cardiovascular risks within 1 year.Objective To explore the cut-off point of aldosterone/direct renin ratio (ADRR) before drug washout in the screening for primary aldosteronism (PA) in the Chinese population and reduce the potential risk caused by drug washout during PA screening. Methods Hospitalized hypertensive patients in the Hypertension Ward of Fuwai Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences from January 2017 to October 2019 were enrolled. PA was diagnosed according to the criterion of 2016 American Guideline and 2016 Chinese Consensus for PA. The plasma aldosterone concentration (PAC), direct renin concentration (DRC) and ADRR before and after drug washout were measured. CC-90011 The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve of ADRR was drawn and the maximal Youden index was used to determine the best cut-off value. Results A total of 542 hypertensive patients were included, with 467 patients diagnosed with essential hypertension (EHT) (297 males and 170 females), and 75 patients diagnosed with PA (51 males and 24 females).
