These findings suggest that these genes play an important role in the defense against toxic effects derived from the MP and PNP exposure. Therefore, B. cenocepacia CEIB S5-2 has a great potential for application in pesticide bioremediation approaches due to its biodegradation capabilities and the differential expression of genes for resistance to MP and PNP.To explore the impact of promotion of electric vehicles on carbon emissions in China, this paper used the principal component analysis (PCA)-logistic regression model to predict the demand for traditional vehicles, and used the scenario analysis method to analyze the proportion of electric vehicles in traditional vehicles qualitatively. Then this paper calculated the carbon emissions during the power generation process based on the existing power structure. In addition, the IPCC carbon emission calculation method is used to compare the CO2 emissions produced by electric vehicles and fuel vehicles with similar vehicle quality while driving the same distance and consuming different energy sources. The results showed that the CO2 emissions of electric vehicles accounted for only 37.05% of fuel vehicles. Bavdegalutamide supplier By 2050, the annual electricity demand of electric vehicles will be 828.7, 776.9, and 752.1 billion kWh under the radical scenario, the reference scenario, and the negative scenario, respectively. According to the current power structure, the carbon emissions will be 1.2, 1.1, and 1 billion tons, respectively. The rapid growth of electric vehicles has a substantial impact on the grid load. Studying the changes in CO2 emissions from energy substitution is significant to formulate the development strategy of the automobile industry and adjust energy structure policies. One hundred two semivolatile organic compounds (SVOCs), including 20 organochlorine pesticides (OCPs) and 12 organophosphorus pesticides (OPPs), were determined in the main rivers of Shenzhen, China. As a result, p,p'-dichlorodiphenyldichloroethane (DDD), aldrin, and benzoepin sulfate were the main OCPs detected in surface water, and p,p'-DDD, heptachlor, and endrin aldehyde were the main compounds in sediment. In addition, diazinon was the most frequent OPP detected in both water and sediment. At most sites, SVOCs were at similar concentration levels in 2017 and 2018. Compared with other areas, diazinon and malathion had comparative high concentrations in Maozhou River in this study. Analyzed from the SVOCs concentrations in water and sediment, p,p'-DDD was from the quick degradation of p,p'-dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane (DDT), and no recent DDT was input around the investigated area. Besides, the interrelationships among these pollutants were calculated, revealing that OPPs were mainly from the chronically cumulative content, rather than the directly transferring from surface water to sediment. According to the risk assessment, the occurrence of p,p'-DDD and p,p'-DDT affected the aquatic community. All in all, further investigations on the occurrence and source of these pollutants are still needed to avoid the potential risk for human beings living around the contaminated environment.Concentrations of As, Cd, Cr, Cu, Hg, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn, and Fe measured at forty locations in the Boka Kotorska Bay were used to monitor the spatial and temporal quality of sediment and to assess surface sediment contamination over the last 15 years. This ecological geochemistry assessment was made using two classes of pollution indices single indices concerning the investigated elements (contamination factor (Cf)) and integrated indices concerning the locations (pollution load index (PLI), potential ecological risk index (RI), mean effects range median quotient (MERMQ), toxic risk index (TRI), contamination severity index (CSI)). The distribution of all indices was geostatistically mapped and several hotspots were identified. Based on the indices applied in the risk assessment, the mean contribution of individual metal species to the total risk was determined and presented in the following order Cd > Hg > As > Pb > Ni > Cu > Cr > Zn. This study revealed that Cd and Hg were at the top of the risk list among the examined elements. The temporal distribution of Hg has shown a decreasing trend during the period 2005-2019, while the presence of Cd in the Bay environment is of major concern. link2 The results revealed that the most polluted part of the investigated area was Tivat bay within the Boka Kotorska Bay. Multivariate statistical analysis of pollution indices resulted in multicollinearity, which enabled the use of a reduced number of indices with an acceptable risk estimation. The aim of this study is to determine whether Cr(VI) can induce inflammatory injury in chicken brain and influence mitophagy and related mechanisms. A total of 120 hyline brown chickens (1 day old, 20±3g) were selected and randomly divided into four groups and given different doses of Cr(VI) (0, 10, 30, and 50 mg/kg) every day at 45 days. Results showed that excessive intake of Cr(VI) led to increased tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) levels and decreased interferon-gamma (IF-γ) level. Cr(VI) increased the production of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species (ROS) in chicken brain cells, causing the decline of mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) and formation of autophagosomes for mitophagy. In addition, Cr(VI) promoted the translocation of Parkin to the mitochondrial outer membrane, increased LC3-II protein level, and inhibited p62 and TOM20 protein expression. In conclusion, excessive Cr(VI) intake can induce inflammatory injury and mitophagy in chicken brain. The quantity of ash yield and carbon monoxide (CO) emitted during co-combustion of empty fruit bunch (EFB), palm kernel shells (PKS) and kaolin in a grate furnace depend on the fuels mixing ratio, the combustion temperature and duration. These factors can be tuned to minimize ash deposition and CO emission which is partly responsible for the greenhouse effect. In this study, seventy-three (73) data points were obtained from combustion of EFB, PKS and kaolin mixtures based on D-optimal design. Artificial neural network (ANN) model, optimized with Taguchi technique, was developed to predict ash yield (AY) and CO emission from the combustion of the fuel mixture. link3 The data were divided into training, validation and testing in a 211 relative proportion. The optimized ANN architecture for AY and CO emission were 5-11-3-1 and 5-6-3-1, respectively, with scale conjugate gradient training algorithm and a learning rate of 0.1. Results of the ANN model agreed significantly with the experimental results with coefficients of determination (R2) of 0.96 and 0.93 for ash yield and CO emission, respectively. The mathematical models for the ash and CO emission using the D-optimal design indicate a good fit with R2 of 0.916 and 0.906, respectively. Parametric studies based on the two models showed that ash yield and CO emission reduced with increased combustion temperature and increased fraction of PKS within the temperature range of 800-1000 °C. These results indicated that both ANN and D-optimal can be deployed to select mixture with minimal ash yield and CO emission. In recent time, the investigation of the state of environmental quality has largely been conducted with less attention on the situation of environment sustainability especially in different economic regimes (expansion and recession). In the current context, the role of income per capita, energy intensity, and urbanization in driving the ecological footprint of Turkey is examined in the framework of Environmental Kuznets Curve (EKC) hypothesis over the period of 1990-2015. Considering the potential evidence of regime switching, we employed the Threshold Autoregressive Model (TAR) method with a regime change threshold of 14.43505 per hectare per capita and found that the EKC hypothesis is valid for all the 4 models. Moreover, eight observations are below the threshold value in the first regime while fifteen observations are equal or higher than the threshold value in the second regime. With a threshold per capita income of 9340.1326 USD, the study found that Turkey begin to experience a decline in environmental degradation resulting from income growth in 2015. However, this desirable outcome was short-lived in 2018 because the per capita income slightly decreases to 9340.1326 USD. In addition, increases in energy intensity and urbanization level hamper environmental sustainability drive of the country. The frequency domain causality test further supports the nexus evidence among the implied variables. By virtue of observation, this study offers that the government should work toward achieving a sustainable growth in order to attain the country's environmental sustainability agenda.Vibrio species, widely distributed in water environments, has emerged as a prominent cause of water and food-related disease outbreaks posing significant risk to human and animal health worldwide. About 40% of presumptive isolates recovered from four selected rivers in Southwest Nigeria and, established as Vibrio species genus through polymerase chain reaction techniques., were subjected to antibiotic susceptibility testing against a panel of 18 commonly used antibiotics. The relative prevalence of key Vibrio species (V. parahaemolyticus, V. vulnificus, V. mimicus, V. harveyi, and V. cholerae) was in the order 17%, 13.3%, 4.4%, 2.2%, and 2.2% respectively. Antibiotic resistance by all Vibrio species was mostly observed against doxycycline (71-89%), erythromycin (86-100%), tetracycline (71-89%), rifampicin (86-100%), and sulfamethoxazole (87-100%), though susceptibility to meropenem (86-100%), cephalothin (60-100%), norfloxacin (93-100%), ciprofloxacin (88-100%), amikacin (64-100%), gentamicin (57-74%), and trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (57-81%) was equally observed in all species. Vibrio mimicus expressed highest resistance against streptomycin and chloramphenicol (64%), while V. vulnificus (52%) and V. cholerae (57%) had the highest resistance against cephalothin. High resistance against ampicillin (57%) and amoxicillin (50%) was exhibited by V. cholerae and V. mimicus respectively. Indexes of multiple antibiotic resistances (MARI) among Vibrio species ranged between 0.11 and 0.72 with the highest MAR index of 0.72 observed in one isolate of V. vulnificus. This study reveals high prevalence of Vibrio species in the selected rivers as well as elevated resistance against some first-line antibiotics, which suggests possible inappropriate antimicrobial usage around study communities. We conclude that the freshwater resources investigated are unfit for domestic, industrial, and recreational uses without treatment prior to use and are potential reservoirs of antibiotic-resistant Vibrio species in this environment.Colored dissolved organic matter (DOM) is a significant indicator of refractory DOM in wastewaters, and fluorescent DOM is an essential part indicating colorants. However, little is known about the composition and contribution of colored DOM to wastewater. This study provided some insights on the persistent yellowish color in biological effluent through use of a multi-characterization approach, and evaluated the effect of two advanced treatments (O3 and granular active carbon (GAC)) in a full-scale wastewater treatment plant. The multi-characterization technique incorporated resin fractionation, excitation-emission matrix spectroscopy (EEM) combined with fluorescence regional integration (FRI), size-exclusion chromatography (SEC), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analysis. The fractionation results showed that hydrophobic acid (HPOA) and hydrophilic (HPI) substances are abundant in colorants, and HPI-type colorants are comparatively resistant or unable to be removed through GAC and O3 individually. FRI-based EEMs showed that F3 (fulvic acid-like organics) and F5 (humic acid-like organics) mainly account for the yellowish color, and their combined fractions of total colorants are 50%, 31%, and 48% in biological, biological + O3, and biological + GAC effluents, respectively.
