Spatial overlap between the two diffracted split wavefronts readily produce high-contrast and stable white light fringes, with unambiguous reference to absolute zero path-delay position. The colored fringes evolve when one of the ultrathin plates is rotated to tune the interferometer with picometric resolution over tens of μm range. Our theoretical analysis validates formation of fringes and highlights self-calibration of the interferometer for picoscale measurements. This study aimed to verify the association between asymptomatic lower third molars and local bone conditions through periapical radiographs. Different hematological, serological, biochemical, histopathological, and molecular assays were performed to assess the study's aim. Moreover, a rat myocardium (H9C2(2-1)) cell line was also used to assess this protective effect in-vitro. 5-FU resulted in significant cardiotoxicity represented by an increase in malondialdehyde (MDA) levels, cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) expression, cardiac enzyme levels, and histopathological degenerations. 5-FU treatment also decreased bodyweight, total anti-oxidant capacity (TAC), catalase (CAT) levels, blood cell counts, and hemoglobin (Hb) levels. As the moisture contents increase from 7 to 19%, the length (L) increased from 4.52 to 5.87 mm, the thickness (T) from 2.51 to 3.21 mm and the width (W) from 2.36 to 3.02 mm, respectively. The bulk and true density of Cassia tora L. seeds decreased from 775.83 to 654.17 kg/m3 and from 1295.21 to 1154.72 kg/m3, respectively, with the moisture content raised from 7 to 19%. The results suggested that physical properties exhibited linear relationships with moisture content using the regression model, while mechanical properties showed a second-order polynomial relationship with moisture content. Furthermore, significant variation existed in thermal properties because of differentiate moisture content and temperature. These data and rules are also useful for high efficiency machines design and mechanisms development.

Depression, anxiety, and fear of recurrence (FOR) are prevalent among cancer survivors, and it is recommended that they have access to supportive services and resources to address psychosocial needs during follow-up care. This study examined the impact of a virtual cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)-based telephone coaching program (BounceBack®) on depression, anxiety, and FOR.

Through the After Cancer Treatment Transition (ACTT) clinic at the Women's College Hospital (Toronto, Canada), eligible participants were identified, consented, and referred to the BounceBack® program. Program participation involved completion of self-selected online workbooks and support from trained telephone coaches. Measures of depression (PHQ-9), anxiety (GAD-7), and FOR (fear of cancer recurrence inventory, FCRI) were collected at pre-intervention (baseline) and post-intervention (6-month and 12-month time points). For each psychosocial measure, paired t-tests compared mean scores between study time points. Participant experiences and perceptions were collected through a survey.

Measures of depression and anxiety significantly improved among participants from pre-intervention to post-intervention. Scores for PHQ-9 and GAD-7 decreased from moderate to mild levels. Measure of FOR also significantly improved, while FCRI sub-scale scores significantly improved for 5 of the 7 factors that characterize FOR (triggers, severity, psychological distress, functional impairment, insight). Participants rated the intervention a mean score of 7 (out of 10), indicating a moderate level of satisfaction and usefulness.

Cyclophosphamide is a commonly used cancer agent that is metabolically activated by polymorphic enzymes. This study aims to investigate the association between predicted activity of candidate pharmacogenes with severe toxicity during cyclophosphamide treatment.

Genome-wide genetic data was collected from an institutional genetic data repository for CYP2B6, CYP3A4, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, GSTA1, GSTP1, ALDH1A1, ALDH3A1, ABCC1, ABCB1, and ERCC1. Treatment and toxicity data were retrospectively collected from the patient's medical record. The a priori selected primary hypothesis was that patients who have CYP2B6 reduced metabolizer activity (poor or intermediate (PM/IM) vs. normal (NM) metabolizer) have lower risk of severe toxicity or cyclophosphamide treatment modification due to toxicity.

In the primary analysis of 510 cyclophosphamide-treated patients with available genetic data, there was no difference in the odds of severe toxicity or treatment modification due to toxicity in CYP2B6 PM/IM vs. NM (odds ratioients contradicts a prior finding for this variant and should be viewed with skepticism. We found weak evidence that any of these candidate pharmacogenetic predictors of cyclophosphamide toxicity may be useful to personalize cyclophosphamide dosing to optimize therapeutic outcomes in patients with cancer.

This descriptive study evaluates the use of an individual feedback report on patient-reported outcomes for colorectal cancer patients and aims to assess differences in patient, tumor, and treatment characteristics and cohort retention between patients who opt and do not opt for the feedback report.

Patients with colorectal cancer participating in the nationwide Prospective Dutch ColoRectal Cancer Cohort, who filled in questionnaires digitally between June 2018 and January 2019, were included. Participants were given the option to receive a feedback report at baseline, 3, 6, and 12months. The usefulness, content, and layout of the feedback report were evaluated. Differences in patient, tumor, and treatment characteristics, patient-reported outcomes, and cohort retention at subsequent questionnaires between participants who did and did not opt for feedback were assessed.

A total of 484 participants were included of whom 293 (61%) opted for feedback.
