eep problems, self-injury, and body aches. Since GI symptoms are often treatable, it is important to recognize them as soon as possible. Both clinicians and parents should become more aware of the high occurrence of GI problems in autistic people. To evaluate potential changes in myopia prevalence in Denmark by revising more than 100years of myopia research.
A systematic literature search was performed in the PubMed, Embase and Cochrane Library databases. Only studies reporting a myopia prevalence in Denmark were included. Myopia was defined using the definition in individual references. We did not restrict inclusion of studies to specific methods of measuring or evaluating refraction. As refraction changes throughout life, information from available studies was divided in relevant age groups. Chi-squared test was used when analysing the effect of sex and education on myopia prevalence except when the expected values were beneath 5, where Fisher's exact test was used. To further compare the effect of sex, we calculated the odds ratio of being myopic for females compared to males.
We identified 29 Danish studies reporting on prevalence of myopia. The studies were performed between year 1882 and 2018. We found no strong evidence of an increase in myopia prevalence in Denmark. Increasing age was associated with an increased myopia prevalence up to the age of 60years where after the prevalence decreased. Longer education and more intensive educational load were associated with myopia. Fourteen studies compared the prevalence of myopia between males and females and two of these studies found a significant higher prevalence in females.
We evaluated nearly 140years of myopia research in Denmark and did not find a convincing change in prevalence of myopia which is in contrast to the high prevalence of myopia reported in some parts of the world and the expected rise in myopia as predicted by WHO.

Giant cell tumour of bone (GCTOB) is a relatively uncommon, benign, but locally aggressive neoplasm. Denosumab is a fully human monoclonal antibody with inhibitory effects on receptor activator of nuclear factor kappa-B ligand that has shown early promise as a possible treatment adjuvant for GCTB. However, much is still unknown about its current indications, long-term effects, the potential risk for rapid relapse and its involvement in sarcomatous transformation.
We analysed the outcomes of 154 patients with GCTOB. We assessed clinical outcomes via local recurrence free-survival, metastatic free-survival and sarcomatous transformation between those treated without Denosumab and those with neo-adjuvant Denosumab. Our radiological and pathological outcomes were assessed through independent specialist reviews.
Four (19.0%) patients of the neo-adjuvant group had local recurrence of disease versus 16 (12.0%) patients in the surgery alone group; this results in a 3.62 times increased likelihood of developing sarcomatous transformation, which is a growing area of concern within the literature. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and long-term outcome of a modification of the anterior-posterior tongue rotation flap used for reconstruction of tongue following cancer ablation. From April 2016 to September 2017, 21 consecutive patients with tumor classification (T2), lymph node classification (N0) tongue cancer on the anterior and middle one-third portion were selected for this study. A modification of the anterior-posterior tongue rotation flap was selected for tongue reconstruction after the cancer resection. Patient's scorings of swallowing, chewing, speech and taste were recorded. Patient after tongue flap reconstruction acquired satisfied tongue movement that allows normal functional outcomes for swallowing, chewing, speech and taste. Local tumor recurrence was not observed during the follow-up examination (range, 12-24 months). The modification of the anterior-posterior tongue rotation flap was a safe and reliable treatment for medium-size tongue cancer (T2N0), especially suitable to patients who cannot endure prolonged surgery.
Limited comparative effectiveness data for rituximab (RTX) versus natalizumab (NTZ), fingolimod (FTY), and dimethyl fumarate (DMF) for the treatment of multiple sclerosis (MS) exist.
Clinician-reported data on patients prescribed RTX, NTZ, FTY, or DMF for the treatment of MS at the Rocky Mountain MS Center at the University of Colorado were retrospectively collected. Outcomes included a composite effectiveness measure consisting of clinical relapse, contrast-enhancing lesions, and/or new T2 lesions, individual effectiveness outcomes, and discontinuation. Logistic regression was used on patients matched by propensity scores and using average treatment effect on treated doubly robust weighting estimator.
A total of 182, 451, 271, and 342 patients initiated RTX, NTZ, FTY, and DMF and were followed for 2years. Vorinostat Before and after adjustment, the odds of experiencing disease activity was significantly higher for FTY [adjusted OR (aOR)=3.17 (95% CI 1.81-5.55), P<0.001].and DMF [aOR=2.68 (95% CI1.67-4.29), P&l similar effectiveness and discontinuation compared to NTZ, RTX had superior effectiveness during months 6-24 and fewer discontinuations when excluding discontinuations due to insurance issues. Results suggest superiority of RTX in reducing disease activity and maintaining long-term treatment in a real-world MS cohort.Formylglycine-generating enzymes specifically oxidize cysteine within the consensus sequence CxPxR to Cα -formylglycine (FGly). This noncanonical electrophilic amino acid can subsequently be addressed selectively by bioorthogonal hydrazino-iso-Pictet-Spengler (HIPS) or Knoevenagel ligation to attach payloads like fluorophores or drugs to proteins to obtain a defined payload-to-protein ratio. However, the disadvantages of these conjugation techniques include the need for a large excess of conjugation building block, comparably low reaction rates and limited stability of FGly-containing proteins. Therefore, functionalized clickable HIPS and tandem Knoevenagel building blocks were synthesized, conjugated to small proteins (DARPins) and subsequently linked to strained alkyne-containing payloads for protein labeling. This procedure allowed the selective bioconjugation of one or two DBCO-carrying payloads with nearly stoichiometric amounts at low concentrations. Furthermore, an azide-modified tandem Knoevenagel building block enabled the synthesis of branched PEG linkers and the conjugation of two fluorophores, resulting in an improved signal-to-noise ratio in live-cell fluorescence-imaging experiments targeting the EGF receptor.
