The mean relative liver enhancement values, mean biliary signal values, and muscle signal index were significantly lower in recipients with postoperative complications than those in donors and recipients without complications (p < 0.001). Visual assessments of liver enhancement and biliary signal were also significantly different in recipients with postoperative complications than that in donors and recipients without complications (p < 0.001).

Quantitative and qualitative MRI parameters obtained by Gd-EOB-DTPA-enhanced MRI on hepatobiliary phase images may potentially become a reliable tool for the assessment of the risk for postoperative complications after LDLT.

The standard treatment for early breast cancer is radical surgery combined with radiotherapy, but many studies have shown that adjuvant radiotherapy after breast-conserving surgery combined with silicone prosthesis reconstruction is gradually expected to become the new standard treatment because this method can obtain a good local tumor control rate, and has a cosmetic effect. Compared with myocutaneous flap reconstruction, silicone prosthesis implantation has the advantages of less trauma, simple operation, beautiful appearance, and no overlap of donor areas during reconstruction. It is a safe and feasible surgical method without worrying about necrosis and atrophy of myocutaneous flap. This emerging combination therapy may become the best mode of early breast cancer treatment.

In this study, we focused on observation of the genetic polymorphisms of the OPG genes G1181C (rs2073618) and C290T (rs9525641), their interactions with biochemical markers and anthropometric parameters in groups of postmenopausal Slovak women (Roma and non-Roma, n = 311).

Genomic DNA was extracted and purified from peripheral blood leukocytes by the kit Ultraclean® Blood non-spin® (Carlsbad, CA, USA) using a standard protocol. Genotyping was performed by the TaqMan SNP genotyping assay. Biochemical markers were measured by the Cobas e411 (Roche Diagnostic, Tokyo, Japan) and Cobas Integra400 plus (Roche Diagnostic, Rotkreuz, Switzerland) analysers.

We recorded a higher frequency of the T allele in the C290T polymorphism of the non-Roma control group (53.846%), in Roma groups control (T - 56.618%) osteoporotic (T - 51.471%). In the G1181C polymorphism, the CC genotype occurred more in the osteoporotic group (34.286%) compared to the control group (27.885%). In the group of postmenopausal Roma women, a stis needed to determine whether or not there are differences between the Roma and non-Roma populations.Exosomes, small membrane vesicles with a diameter of 30-100 nm, transport lipids, proteins, DNA, and RNA. Exosomes originate from endocytic vessels and are processed and released through exocytosis. They can be taken up by target cells and mediate intercellular communication. Initially, exosomes were thought to be waste products excreted by cells. However, with more research, they have been found to play important roles in physiological and pathological processes. Therefore, they are promising biomarkers for the diagnosis and treatment of a variety of disease conditions, including fundus diseases, ocular surface diseases, retinal diseases, tumors, ocular trauma, and light damage. In this review, we discuss the history, biogenesis, release, isolation, characterization, and biological functions of exosomes, as well as their future application prospects in ophthalmic diseases.Correction to European Review for Medical and Pharmacological Sciences 2020; 24 (22) 11939-11944-DOI 10.26355/eurrev_202011_23854-PMID 33275267, published online 30 November, 2020.
