Mean amount of volume overload and hyperhydrated status were also significantly associated with higher NT-proBNP and pro-adrenomedullin levels in HD and PD patients, although not with myeloperoxidase or copeptin levels. Furthermore, they were significantly associated with cardiac markers (left ventricular mass index, ejection fraction, and left atrial diameter) in HD and PD patients compared with those in the control and pre-dialysis groups. On the basis of increased plasma NT-proBNP and pro-adrenomedullin concentrations, we might be able to make predictions regarding the volume overload status of dialysis patients, and thereby reduce cardiovascular-related mortality through appropriate early volume control.

Parkinson disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder. Elevations of neurofilament light chain (NfL) concentrations in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood are a marker of neuronal/axonal injury and degeneration. However, CSF and blood NfL alterations in patients with PD from existing studies remain inconclusive. To better understand these conflicting data, we will conduct a meta-analysis.

We will comprehensively search PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases from each database's inception to 7th June, 2020. This protocol will conform to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic review and Meta-Analysis Protocols. We will only include original studies published in English that evaluated differences of NfL concentrations in the CSF or blood between idiopathic PD patients and healthy controls. The Newcastle-Ottawa Scale will be used to evaluate the quality of the included studies. Meta-analyses will be carried out using the STATA software version 13.0. Ivacaftor nmr Between-group difference of NfL concentrations in the CSF and blood will be expressed as the weighted standardized mean difference. A random-effects model will be used. Supplementary analyses, such as heterogeneity analysis, sensitivity analysis, publication bias, subgroup analysis, and meta-regression analysis will be performed.

The meta-analysis will provide the differences of NfL concentrations in the CSF and blood between patients with PD and healthy controls and will show the magnitudes of their effect sizes.

This meta-analysis will provide the evidence of NfL concentrations in the CSF and blood in PD and we hope that our study has an important impact on clinical practice.

Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a common progressive autoimmune inflammatory disease. Du moxibustion can effectively treat AS with few adverse reactions. The aim of this protocol is to systematically investigate the effectiveness and safety for management of AS with Du moxibustion.

Seven relevant databases, namely, PubMed, Cochrane Library, Embase, Chinese Biomedical Literatures Database (CBM), China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), WangFang Database (WF), Chinese Scientific Journal Database (VIP) will be searched from their inception until May 1st, 2020. All clinical randomized controlled trials containing eligible interventions(s) and outcome(s) will be included, regardless of blinding or publication types. Two reviewers will independently retrieval databases, extract data, and then assess the quality of studies. Data synthesis will be conducted by RevMan 5.3 software. We regard the effective rate, Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI), Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) as the primary outcomes, and the secondary outcomes contain C-reactive protein (CRP), erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), finger-to-floor distance (FFD), occiput to wall distance (OWD), and side effects. The result about the curative effect and safety of Du moxibustion for AS will be presented as risk ratio for dichotomous data and mean differences with a 95% confidence interval for continuous data.

The finding will be presented in a journal or related conferences.

This study expects to provide high-quality, evidence-based recommendations on further treatment for clinical guidance.

CRD42020158727.To investigate the diagnostic performance of ultrasound (US) for pregnant women with previous caesarean section (CS) occurring lower uterine segment (LUS) dehiscence and rupture.107 pregnant women with previous CS and LUS thickness of 1.0 mm or less were recruited, the LUS and myometrium was measured, and US findings suggestive of uterine rupture were compared with findings at laparotomy. The included pregnant women were assigned into 2 groups, including 64 pregnant women had vaginal delivery at full-term and 43 pregnant women underwent repeat CS at preterm.US findings suggestive of uterine rupture and dehiscence occurred in 18 women and 89 women, respectively; ten of them developed uterine rupture, and the incidence of uterine rupture was 9.34% (10/107). The sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, positive, and negative predictive values of US for the evaluation of LUS dehiscence and rupture were 100.0%, 91.8%, 92.5%, 55.6%, and 100.0%, respectively. There was no severe maternal obstetric complication, 1 fetus died, and the other fetuses were born with a 5-minute Apgar score of 7 to 10.US has high sensitivity and specificity for pregnant women with previous CS occurring LUS dehiscence and rupture.

The comparative efficacy and safety of small molecule and biological agents in the treatment of psoriatic arthritis (PsA) remain unknown.

To compare the efficacy and safety of 14 small molecule and biological agents by network meta-analysis (NMA).

Relevant randomized controlled trials involving biological treatments for PsA were identified by searching PubMed, Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Clinicaltrials.gov and by manual retrieval, up to June 2018. NMA was conducted with Stata 14.0 based on the frequentist method. Effect measures were odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Intervention efficacy and safety were ranked according to the surface under the cumulative ranking curve (SUCRA).

A total of 30 studies involving 10,191 adult subjects were included. According to NMA, ≥ 20% improvement in modifed American College of Rheumatology response criteria (ACR20) response, Psoriasis Area and Severity Index 75 (PASI75) response, and serious adverse events rate (SAEs) were observed.
