nterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The evidence presented in this study provides a reference for clinicians to select a suitable anterior cruciate ligament graft.

In this study, we made a comprehensive comparison of the grafts commonly used in anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. The evidence presented in this study provides a reference for clinicians to select a suitable anterior cruciate ligament graft.Osteoarthritis (OA) is a multifactorial joint disease with pathological changes that affect whole joint tissue. Obesity is acknowledged as the most influential risk factor for both the initiation and progression of OA in weight-bearing and non-weight-bearing joints. Obesity-induced OA is a newly defined phenotypic group in which chronic low-grade inflammation has a central role. Aside from persistent chronic inflammation, abnormal mechanical loading due to increased body weight on weight-bearing joints is accountable for the initiation and progression of obesity-induced OA. The current therapeutic approaches for OA are still evolving. Tissue-engineering-based strategy for cartilage regeneration is one of the most promising treatment breakthroughs in recent years. However, patients with obesity-induced OA are often excluded from cartilage repair attempts due to the abnormal mechanical demands, altered biomechanical and biochemical activities of cells, persistent chronic inflammation, and other obesity-associatresearch direction on the creation of tissue engineering-based therapies for obesity-induced OA.A wavelength-locked light-induced thermo-elastic spectroscopy (WL-LITES) gas sensor system was proposed for long-distance in-situ methane (CH4) detection using a fiber-coupled sensing probe. L-Glutamic acid monosodium in vivo The wavelength-locked scheme was used to speed the sensor response without scanning the laser wavelength across the CH4 absorption line. A small-size piezoelectric quartz tuning fork (QTF) with a wide spectral response range was adopted to enhance the photo-thermal signal. The optical excitation parameters of the QTF were optimized based on experiment and simulation for improving the signal-to-noise ratio of the LITES technique. An Allan deviation analysis was employed to evaluate the limit of detection of the proposed sensor system. With a 0.3 s lock-in integration time and a ∼ 100 m optical fiber, the WL-LITES gas sensor system demonstrates a minimum detection limit (MDL) of ∼ 11 ppm in volume (ppmv) for CH4 detection, and the MDL can be further reduced to ∼ 1 ppmv with an averaging time of ∼ 35 s. A real-time in-situ monitoring of CH4 leakage reveals that the proposed sensor system can realize a fast response ( less then 12 s) for field application. In this work, we report on a quartz-enhanced photoacoustic spectroscopy (QEPAS) sensor for hydrogen sulfide (H2S) detection, exploiting a liquid-nitrogen-cooled THz quantum cascade laser (QCL) operating in pulsed mode. The spectrophone was designed to accommodate a THz QCL beam and consisted of a custom quartz tuning fork with a large prong spacing, coupled with acoustic resonator tubes. The targeted rotational transition falls at 2.87 THz (95.626 cm-1), with a line-strength of 5.53 ∙ 10-20 cm/mol. A THz QCL peak power of 150 mW was measured at a heat sink temperature of 81 K, pulse width of 1 μs and repetition rate of 15.8 kHz. A QEPAS record sensitivity for H2S detection in the THz range of 360 part-per-billion in volume was achieved at a gas pressure of 60 Torr and 10 s integration time.Parasites may negatively affect hosts condition, especially when infection intensity is high. Species introduced to a new habitat are often less exposed to a parasite pressure but may accumulate parasites in time. American mink (Neovison vison) introduced to Europe, Asia, and South America is an example of such invasive species. We analysed nematode prevalence and digestive tract infection intensity in 796 feral American mink from Poland. The analyses were performed separately for stomach, duodenum, small intestine and large intestine. Parasite species identification was performed using molecular methods based on highly conserved nuclear 18S rRNA gene and supplemented with morphological analysis. In total, we collected 26,852 nematodes and 98.6% of them were isolated from mink stomachs. We found positive association between infection intensity in stomach and other parts of digestive tract. Nematode prevalence was estimated at 63.8% and average infection intensity per one American mink at 52.9 (range from 1 to 1118). If the stomach results were theoretically and intentionally omitted the prevalence was 5 times lower (12.7%) and infection intensity 14 times lower (3.7; range 1-50). We identified two nematode species in digestive tracts of American mink Aonchotheca putorii and Molineus patens. The 18S rRNA gene sequence of Molineus patens has been reported for the first time. The results showed that Aonchotheca putorii is a dominating nematode in the invasive American mink and that it inhabits stomach intensively and preferably.Lymphomatoid granulomatosis (LYG) is a rare Epstein-Barr virus-associated B-cell lymphoproliferative disorder and was incorporated into the WHO classification of Tumours of the Lung, Pleura, Thymus and Heart in 2015. LYG is known to be associated with the host's immune function, and can be caused by some immunosuppressive agents, including methotrexate. A woman in her sixties with an 18-year history of methotrexate treatment for rheumatoid arthritis visited our hospital after detection of an abnormal chest shadow on her radiograph. She had been having anemia and a slight fever. Computed tomography (CT) revealed a 2.9-cm sized nodule in her left lung and hilar adenopathy, which suggested a primary lung carcinoma or an inflammatory lesion. We performed a left upper lobectomy with lymph node dissection for the purpose of diagnosis and treatment. Pathologic findings revealed that the tumor was a grade 3 LYG based on the number of EBV-positive B cells. The patient was treated with two chemotherapy regimens including R-CHOP at another hospital, and survived for four years after resection without recurrence in the lung. It is rare to find a case resected LYG, and the clinical or pathological findings of our case are expected to be extremely helpful in studying this disease and improving the understanding of this disease.
