Historically thoracic MRI has been limited by the lower proton density of lung parenchyma, cardiac and respiratory motion artifacts and long acquisition times. Recent technological advancements in MR hardware systems and improvement in MR pulse sequences have helped overcome these limitations and expand clinical opportunities for non-vascular thoracic MRI. Non-vascular thoracic MRI has been established as a problem-solving imaging modality for characterization of thymic, mediastinal, pleural chest wall and superior sulcus tumors and for detection of endometriosis. It is increasingly recognized as a powerful imaging tool for detection and characterization of lung nodules and for assessment of lung cancer staging. The lack of ionizing radiation makes thoracic MRI an invaluable imaging modality for young patients, pregnancy and for frequent serial follow-up imaging. Lack of familiarity and exposure to non-vascular thoracic MRI and lack of consistency in existing MRI protocols have called for clinical practice guidance. The purpose of this guide, which was developed by the Canadian Society of Thoracic Radiology and endorsed by the Canadian Association of Radiologists, is to familiarize radiologists, other interested clinicians and MR technologists with common and less common clinical indications for non-vascular thoracic MRI, discuss the fundamental imaging findings and focus on basic and more advanced MRI sequences tailored to specific clinical questions.
Ocular symptoms are uncommon manifestations of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection. A 27-year-old man who worked as an obstetrics and gynecology resident came to the outpatient clinic with the chief complaints of eye discomfort, foreign body sensation, conjunctival hyperemia, lacrimation, and photophobia in his right eye for the past 3 weeks. Fluorescence test showed a small corneal lesion. The patient was then diagnosed with keratoconjunctivitis. A week after the treatment, all symptoms were resolved. A month later, the patient came to the emergency room with the same eye complaints but with a more severe pain. The fluorescence test showed wider corneal lesion compared to last month. The result from the corneal swab is negative for bacterial or fungal infection, indicating a viral infection. Afterwards, reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction test from nasopharyngeal swab was performed and revealed that the patient was positive for COVID-19.

The double burden of malnutrition points to an urgent need to develop strategies to promote healthy diets. Health professionals are key elements for health promotion and must be prepared to deal with these issues in health services.
This study aimed to evaluate the impact of an educational intervention based on Brazilian Dietary Guidelines in the practice of multidisciplinary teams working in primary health care.
A controlled trial comprising pre- and post-tests was conducted with four multidisciplinary healthcare teams. The intervention group received 16 hours of training on the Brazilian Dietary Guidelines. The professionals' practices were evaluated by direct observation, before and after the intervention, for two months at each timepoint. Data on dietary counselling were collected using a previously validated scale. The Kruskal-Wallis test was used for intragroup comparison at T0 versus T1, and the intergroup effects of the intervention were estimated by generalized linear regression analysis with a 95% confidence interval.
The regression with the interaction term between the intervention group and time showed a positive effect of the educational intervention on professionals' practices in the intervention group in the crude and adjusted models (coefficient = 1.36 and
= 0.020). Brazilian Dietary Guidelines application significantly increased in non-nutritionist professionals' practices (
= 0.007) and in activities not related to nutrition (
= 0.028) in the intervention group over time (T1-T0). No significant differences were found in the control group.

We present a case of a 74-year-old man with a 13-cm long hypopharyngeal fibrovascular polyp with 9 months history of globus sensation. A narrow stalk of the giant polyp allowed endoscopic removal and complete resection with the CO2 laser. Histopathological examination was conclusive for the fibrovascular polyp.Although the diagnosis of chronic invasive fungal sinusitis relies chiefly on identification of invasive fungi on histology, the insidious nature of the disease can preclude detection of fungal organisms. Here, we present a case of chronic invasive fungal sinusitis with negative histopathologic findings and a definitive diagnosis made through fungal DNA detection. Clinicians should consider polymerase chain reaction an important complement to histology and culture in the diagnosis of chronic invasive fungal sinusitis.
