Using rich administrative data, we find that on the 3-year horizon, involuntary retirement decreases the number of primary care doctor visits, the use of systemic antiinfectives and respiratory drugs, and the non-zero spending on antiinfectives, the drugs of the alimentary tract and metabolism and of the cardiovascular system. The impact on the latter two drug categories is driven by the drop in income due to involuntary retirement. We conclude that there is little evidence for health deteriorating effects of involuntary retirement and discuss the possible mechanisms behind our results.

The aim of this research was to examine relationships between attachment insecurity and suicidal ideation and behaviour. Secondary aims were to explore the mediating role of emotion dysregulation and the moderating role of betrayal trauma in explaining hypothesised relationships.

Sixty-five participants with experience of suicidal ideation completed questionnaire measures assessing attachment security, suicide ideation, emotion regulation, betrayal trauma, depressive symptoms and hopelessness.

A direct relationship was found between avoidant attachment and suicide ideation after controlling for age and gender. Multiple suicide attempters had higher anxious attachment. Anxious and avoidant attachment, suicide ideation and betrayal trauma were associated with emotion dysregulation. The relationship between attachment insecurity and suicide ideation was not mediated by emotion dysregulation. In the mediation model, only anxious attachment remained a significant predictor of emotion regulation and there was no significant effect of emotion regulation nor betrayal trauma, on suicide ideation.

Suicidal individuals may benefit from therapeutic intervention that explores attachment-related difficulties and therapies such as dialectical behavioural therapy, which support skills in emotional regulation. Future longitudinal research should identify other important mediators of the association between attachment and suicidality to develop more targeted psychological interventions for suicidality.

Efforts to synthesise existing knowledge concerning the effects of exercise interventions on obesity (i.e. changes in body weight and composition) have been made, but scientific evidence in this matter is still limited. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to identify and critically analyse the best available evidence regarding the use of physical exercise as a strategy to attenuate obesity through its effects on adiposity-related anthropometric parameters in people with intellectual disability (ID).

Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines, a literature search was performed using PubMed, Scopus, SPORTDiscus, CINAHL and the Cochrane Library through specific keywords up to July 2020. This paper adds to the evidence across all these dimensions by estimating the effect of an SSB tax on SSB consumption and the BMI of youth in Mauritius, an island nation in the Indian Ocean, which we compare to Maldives, another island nation which did not implement an SSB tax during the time of our data. Results of difference-in-differences models indicate that the tax in Mauritius had no detectable impact on the consumption of SSBs or the BMI of the pooled sample of boys and girls. However, models estimated separately by sex indicate that the probability that boys consumed SSBs fell by 9.4 percentage points (11%). A greater understanding of specific profiles that could increase risk for psychopathology is necessary in order to best understand and support individuals with 3q29 deletion syndrome. The goal of this study was to thus carefully outline the strengths and weaknesses of these individuals. A second goal was to ask whether the cognitive impact of the deletion predicted psychopathology in other domains.

In this paper, after briefing on the basic principles and quantification methods of CEST imaging, we review its early applications in identifying isocitrate dehydrogenase mutation status, MGMT methylation status, 1p/19q deletion status, and H3K27M mutation status in gliomas. Finally, we discuss the limitations or weaknesses in these studies.T1 contrasts obtained using short-TR incoherent steady state gradient echo (GRE) methods are generally suboptimal, to which non-T1 factors in the signals play a major part. In this work, we proposed an augmented T1 -weighted (aT1 W) method to extract the signal ratio between routine GRE T1 W and proton density-weighted signals that effectively removes the non-T1 effects from the original T1 W signals, including proton density, T2 * decay, and coil sensitivity. A recently proposed multidimensional integration (MDI) technique was incorporated in the aT1 W calculation for better signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) performance. For comparison between aT1 W and T1 W results, Monte Carlo noise analysis was performed via simulation and on scanned data, and region-of-interest (ROI) analysis and comparison was performed on the system phantom. For brain scans, the image contrast, noise behavior, and SNR of aT1 W images were compared with routine GRE and inversion-recovery-based T1 W images. The proposed aT1 W method yielded saliently improved T1 contrasts (potentially > 30% higher contrast-to-noise ratio [CNR]) than routine GRE T1 W images. Good spatial homogeneity and signal consistency as well as high SNR/CNR were achieved in aT1 W images using the MDI technique. To accelerate this task, we developed a deep-learning-based framework (CLAIMS Cortical Lesion AI-Based Assessment in Multiple Sclerosis) for the automated detection and classification of MS CLs with 7 T MRI. Two 7 T datasets, acquired at different sites, were considered. The first consisted of 60 scans that include 0.5 mm isotropic MP2RAGE acquired four times (MP2RAGE×4), 0.7 mm MP2RAGE, 0.5 mm T2 *-weighted GRE, and 0.5 mm T2 *-weighted EPI. The second dataset consisted of 20 scans including only 0.75 × 0.75 × 0.9 mm3 MP2RAGE. CLAIMS was first evaluated using sixfold cross-validation with single and multi-contrast 0.5 mm MRI input. Second, the performance of the model was tested on 0.7 mm MP2RAGE images after training with either 0.5 mm MP2RAGE×4, 0.7 mm MP2RAGE, or alternating the two.
