A lightweight buggy is a great option for parents who frequently travel and use public transport, or plan on going on holiday with their child. They usually weigh less than 6kg in weight and have a compact fold that allows them to be carried easily in overhead compartments for luggage on flights. Lightweight buggies are also good for city travel because they're easy to manoeuvre. They'll typically include a raincover and sunshade too. Jogger buggies can be difficult to steer because the front wheel can swivel, so it's important to secure this when putting up road kerbs and crossing roads.

This is great for infants who have a tendency to be irritable in the car seat and prefer to look out at their parents. Some models are only front-facing and are ideal for older children who don't want to be distracted.
Alternately, there are tandem buggies, designed to take two children of the same age side-by-side. This is a great option for newborns or twins who are similar in age, but it can be difficult to maneuver, especially if the space is narrow. Some tandem buggies have a reclining mechanism on each seat, so that your child can lie on the floor while you push them.
