001). On univariate analysis, predicting variables were as follows age at presentation < 1 year (p < 0.001), nadir serum creatinine > 1 mg/dl (p < 0.001), B/L high-grade VUR (p < 0.001), severe bladder dysfunction (p < 0.001), recurrent febrile UTIs (p = 0.002), polyuria (p < 0.001), and polydipsia (p < 0.001). On multivariate Cox regression analysis, severe bladder dysfunction, recurrent febrile UTIs, polyuria, and polydipsia were identified as significant prognostic factors predictive of ultimate progression to kidney failure.

Polyuria and polydipsia along with recurrent febrile UTI and bladder dysfunction are major prognostic factors affecting long-term kidney outcome in cases of PUV. Auranofin Graphical abstract.

Whilst the general principles are the same as those for adults, some additional considerations arise. The ages of consent relating to data privacy and clinical trial participation are different in a number of countries, but the distinction is often not recognised in non-drug trials. Accidental pregnancies in clinical trials always raise complexities, but these are amplified when the trial subject is a minor, and the processes described in clinical trial protocols rarely take account of GDPR requirements. This paper describes approaches which can be taken to ensure the rights of children are respected. Conclusion The conduct of paediatric clinical trials within GDPR requirements is quite possible provided authors think carefully when drafting protocols. What is Known • GDPR is applicable to clinical trials, including paediatric trials. • A number of challenges at the interface between the GDPR and CTR have been described. What is New • The application of the GDPR to certain specific situations in paediatric trials does not appear to have been explored. • Three such situations are described and solutions offered. With the deepening implementation of the energy revolution and the advent of the era in which renewable energy will be grid parity, China's offshore wind power projects have gradually taking steps to shape a large-scale development. This paper reviews the relevant policies for offshore wind power, adopting the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) model to conduct an economic evaluation of offshore wind power projects in six typical provinces in China. Among the six provinces studied in this paper, Hebei Province has the highest LCOE value of 0.87 yuan/kWh, and Fujian Province has the lowest LCOE value of 0.71 yuan/kWh; the LCOE results of offshore wind power projects in Hebei and Guangdong provinces are higher than the policy guidance price by 8.75% and 6.25% respectively; the LCOE value of the offshore wind power projects in the other four provinces are lower than the guidance price, and the average profit is considerable; the expected annual utilization hours and unit cost have varied impact on the LCOE value in different provinces. The results show that with the upcoming offshore wind power on-grid price bidding era, China's offshore wind power grid parity era is just around the corner. Finally, this paper puts forward relevant policy suggestions, hoping to provide practical guidance for the promotion of offshore wind power technology in China.Unfortunately, the plastic pollution increases at an exponential rate and drastically endangers the marine ecosystem. According to World Health Organization (WHO), microplastics in drinking water have become a concern and may be a risk to human health. One of the major efforts to fight against this problem is developing easy-to-use, low-cost, portable microplastic detection systems. To address this issue, here, we present our prototype device based on an optical system that can help detect the microplastics in water. This system that costs less than $370 is essentially a low-cost Raman spectrometer. It includes a collimated laser (5 mW), a sample holder, a notch filter, a diffraction grating, and a CCD sensor all integrated in a 3D printed case. Our experiments show that our system is capable of detecting microplastics in water having a concentration less than 0.015% w/v. We believe that the designed portable device can find a widespread use all over the world to monitor the microplastic content in an easier and cost-effective manner.Phytomicrobial remediation technology of PAH-contaminated soils has drawn great attention due to its low-cost, eco-friendly, and effective characteristics, but the mechanism underlying the removal of PAHs by rhizosphere in wastewater-irrigated soil is so far not clear. To evaluate the dissipation of PAHs and the shifts of bacterial community structure under plant-microorganism symbiotic system in an agricultural soil, a rhizo-box experiment with Fire Phoenix (a genotype mixture of Fesctuca arundinecea L.) or/and inoculated Mycobacterium sp. was conducted for 60 days. The changes of bacterial community structure and the contents of PAHs were analyzed by denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (DGGE) and high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), respectively. The results showed that the removal rate of PAHs in phytomicrobial combined treatment was 53.7% after 60 days. The PAH-degraders were dominated by Microbacterium sp., Sphingomonas sp., Mycobacterium sp., and Flavobacterium sp. The plant of Fire Phoenix induced the appearance of Pseudomonas sp. and TM7 phylum sp. oral clone. The highest of bacterial diversity index was observed in unrhizosphere soils (MR-), rather than that in rhizosphere soils (MR+). In combination, phytomicrobial combined treatment of Fire Phoenix and Mycobacterium strain enhanced the removal rate of PAHs and changed the structure of bacterial community and bacterial diversity. Bacterial community has great effect on PAH degradation in PAH-contaminated soil from the wastewater-irrigated site. Our study can provide support information for PAH degradation enhancement by the synergetic effect of Fire Phoenix and Mycobacterium sp.
