The Centro de Estudos do Bebé e da Criança in Hospital Dona Estefânia has organized a multidisciplinary model for children under three with suspected autism spectrum disorder, thus implementing the recent guidelines established by the Directorate General for Health. The aim of this study is to describe this model and case series.
A retrospective descriptive study of observed children with suspected ASD. They were observed according to the model of the Centro de Estudos do Bebé e da Criança and DC0-5TM classification, between January 2018 and September 2019.
The study included 178 children. XL765 The average age at the initial assessment was 27 months. From the total sample, 116 children concluded the diagnostic sessions (axis I) Autism Spectrum Disorder/Early Atypical (36%), Developmental Language Disorder (18%), Other (19%). Factors of axes II, III, IV and V of DC0-5TM were determinant for clinical diagnosis in 26%.
Of 116 children, 36% were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This highlights the diagnostic challenge posed by neurodevelopmental disorders in early infancy. The sample shows that the characteristics of the relationship with the caregiver (axis II), presence of physical conditions (axis III), psycho-social stressors (axis IV) and developmental trajectory (axis V) have a significant clinical impact. In the future, the initial assessment should take place well before the age of 27 months because of the impact on prognosis.

Nonmedical use of prescription drugs and other substances for cognitive enhancement in the academic environment has been documented in several studies. However, the prevalence among Portuguese university students is unknown. We aimed to assess the prevalence and academic contexts of the use of cognitive enhancers of a sample of Portuguese medical students.
An online questionnaire about the use of cognitive enhancers was completed by 1156 participants, who were either medical students (group 1) or newly qualified physicians applying for the Portuguese medical licensing exam (group 2).
Coffee was the most frequently used substance for cognitive enhancement purposes in both groups, whereas nonmedical use of prescription drugs for cognitive enhancement was lower in undergraduate students (5%) and higher in licensing exam applicants (14%). Methylphenidate (35%) and modafinil (10%) were the most consumed prescription substances and they were mainly used to enhance attention (83%) and memory (44%). Use of presung doctors is relevant for public health and medical education, since they will soon be in charge of drugs prescription. Therefore, ethical and medical concerns raised by off label consumption of prescription drugs for cognitive enhancement purposes must be openly addressed.Community-clinical linkages are connections between community and clinical sectors to improve population health, and community-based pharmacists are well positioned to implement this strategy. We implemented a novel approach to community-clinical linkages in African American communities in which community-based pharmacists implement screenings for chronic disease and social determinants of health, make referrals to clinical and social services, and follow up with patients to support linkage to care in nontraditional health care settings. The community-based pharmacist navigation program works with multisector partners to increase referrals and access to existing health and social service programs. We used a mixed-methods evaluation approach to collect and analyze data on program characteristics and the linkage intervention. From February 2019 to March 2020, 702 African American community members received preventive health screenings, and 508 (72%) were referred to clinical and social services. Pharmacists demonstrated the ability to implement clinical preventive services in nontraditional health care settings and improve access to care through the provision of community-clinical linkages.Five yeast strains isolated from forest habitats in Hungary and Germany were characterized phenotypically and by sequencing of the D1/D2 domain of the large subunit rRNA gene and the ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 (ITS) region of the rRNA gene. The strains have identical D1/D2 domain and ITS region sequences. By sequence comparisons, Candida mycetangii and Candida maritima were identified as the closest relatives among the currently recognized yeast species. The DNA sequences of the investigated strains differ by 1.2 % (six substitutions) in the D1/D2 domain and by 3.5 % (12 substitutions and eight indels) in the ITS region from the type strain of C. mycetangii (CBS 8675T) while by 1.2 % (six substitutions and one indel) in the D1/D2 domain and by 7 % (32 substitutions and seven indels) in the ITS region from the type strain of C. maritima (CBS 5107T). Because the intraspecies heterogeneity seems to be very low and the distance to the most closely related species is above the commonly expected level for intraspecies variability Cyberlindnera sylvatica sp. nov. (holotype, CBS 16335T; isotype, NCAIM Y.02233T; MycoBank no., MB 835268) is proposed to accommodate the above-noted five yeast strains. Phenotypically the novel species can be distinguished from C. mycetangii and C. maritima by the formation of ascospores. Cyberlindnera sylvatica forms one or two hat-shaped ascospores per ascus on many different media as well as well-developed pseudohyphae and true hyphae. Additionally, we propose the transfer of three anamorphic members of the Cyberlindnera americana sub-clade to the genus Cyberlindnera as the following new taxonomic combinations Cyberlindnera maritima f.a., comb. nov., Cyberlindnera mycetangii f.a., comb. nov. and Cyberlindnera nakhonratchasimensis f.a., comb. nov.
