Group education is increasing in popularity as a means of preparing patients for surgery. In recent years, these 'surgery schools' have evolved from primarily informing patients of what to expect before and after surgery, to providing support and encouragement for patients to 'prehabilitate' prior to surgery, through improving physical fitness, nutrition and emotional wellbeing.
A survey aimed at clinicians delivering surgery schools was employed to capture a national overview of activity to establish research and practice priorities in this area. The survey was circulated online via the Enhanced Recovery after Surgery UK Society and the Centre for Perioperative Care mailing lists as well as social media.
There were 80 responses describing 28 active and 4 planned surgery schools across the UK and Ireland. Schools were designed and delivered by multidisciplinary teams, contained broadly similar content and were well attended. Most were funded by the National Health Service. The majority included aspects ical effectiveness of this type of education intervention.
Uterus didelphys results from a failure in Mullerian duct fusion and may be associated with complete or partial vaginal septa. Most cases of uterus didelphys are discovered incidentally during the workup of infertility or recurrent miscarriage. The incidence of uterus didelphys has been reported to be 0.2% in the infertile population.
A 35-year-old white Arab woman, gravida 0, parity 0, with a history of primary infertility of 8years (a well-known male factor) presented to our infertility center. She was diagnosed as having uterus didelphys with severe male factor. The patient had three previous failed in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycles outside our center. This is a case report of an infertile woman with uterus didelphys who conceived twice following single embryo transfer in both uterine horns successively. After the first successful pregnancy in the left uterine horn, the initial decision was to transfer the embryo to the same horn (left) because of the previous successful transfer. The very deep and long vagina forced us to reach one of the cervices, in which the embryo was placed in the right uterine horn, followed by the second successful pregnancy in the other, smaller horn. The patient gave her informed consent, both verbal and written, to use her information and images for medical publication.
Pregnancy is possible in women with uterus didelphys using single embryo transfer in in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection cycles. It is recommended that both horns be given a chance.

The main aim of the study was to assess the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on athletes preparing for the Tokyo 2021 Paralympic Games during 1month of lockdown in Poland. The study involved 166 athletes (106 male, 66 female), members of either the Polish Paralympic Committee or the Polish Sports Association for the Disabled'Start', two organizations responsible for managing and regulating sports played by persons with disabilities in Poland.
Athletes with disabilities have been strongly affected by the pandemic and the resultant lockdown. The majority of respondents reported that they trained at home (88.6%), whereas 60.2% of athletes trained outdoors, and 12% suspended their training regimens altogether. Only 5.4% of athletes had some access to sport facilities. The athletes reduced their weekly training time by almost half (9.4h/week vs. 5.3h/week), a statistically significant difference (t = 16.261, p < 0.001).

Caesarean sections often have no urgent indication and are electively planned. Research showed that elective caesarean section should not be performed until 39 + (0-6) weeks of gestation to ensure best neonatal and maternal health if there are no contraindications. This was recommended by various guidelines published in the last two decades. With this systematic review, we are looking for implementation strategies trying to implement these recommendations to reduce elective caesarean section before 39 + (0-6) weeks of gestation.
We performed a systematic literature search in MEDLINE, EMBASE, CENTRAL, and CINAHL on 3rd of March 2021. We included studies that assessed implementation strategies aiming to postpone elective caesarean section to ≥ 39 + (0-6) weeks of gestation. There were no restrictions regarding the type of implementation strategy or reasons for elective caesarean section. Our primary outcome was the rate of elective caesarean sections before 39 + (0-6) weeks of gestation. We used the ROBINS-) and the overall quality of the evidence is rather low. However, most of the studies identified specific barriers in the implementation process. For planning an implementation strategy to reduce elective caesarean section before 39 + (0-6) weeks of gestation, it is necessary to consider specific barriers and facilitators and take all obstetric personal into account.

England operates a National Data Opt-Out (NDOO) for the secondary use of confidential health data for research and planning. We hypothesised that public awareness and support for the secondary use of health data and the NDOO would vary by participant demography and healthcare experience. We explored patient/public awareness and perceptions of secondary data use, grouping potential researchers into National Health Service (NHS), academia or commercial. We assessed awareness of the NDOO system amongst patients, carers, healthcare staff and the public. We co-developed recommendations to consider when sharing unconsented health data for research.
A patient and public engagement program, co-created and including patient and public workshops, questionnaires and discussion groups regarding anonymised health data use.
There were 350 participants in total. Central concerns for health data use included unauthorised data re-use, the potential for discrimination and data sharing without patient benefit. 94% of respondents were happy for their data to be used for NHS research, 85% for academic research and 68% by health companies, but less than 50% for non-healthcare companies and opinions varied with demography and participant group.
