9%) and less then 87 (n = 30, systemic organ dysfunction 56.7%). Multivariate analysis using a logistic regression model showed that age, respiratory rate, temperature, geriatric nutritional risk index and quick Sepsis-related Organ Failure Assessment score in the emergency department were independently associated with systemic organ dysfunction in patients with cholecystitis. CONCLUSIONS The Geriatric Nutritional Risk Index was recognized as an independent factor associated with systemic organ dysfunction in older patients in the emergency department who presented with cholecystitis. This index might be helpful in screening patient risk and deciding whether to carry out further tests. METHODS In this retrospective cohort study, 90 adults with unilateral ACL injury, ranging in age from 19 to 45 years (66 men and 24 women, average age 30.03 ± 7.91) were recruited for this study form May 2018 to July 2019. They were divided into three groups according to the time after the injury group A (3-week to 1.5-month), group B (1.5-month to 1 year), and group C (more than 1 year). The SEMG signals were collected from the bilateral rectus femoris (RF), vastus medialis (VM), and vastus lateralis (VL) and the root mean square (RMS) were used to assess muscular activity. SEMG were used to analyze muscles function, gait analysis was used to evaluate the walking stability, balance and location assessment were used to analyze the proprioception. RESULTS Tand only 16 gait parameters showed differences between the bilateral limbs. CONCLUSION The results proved the deterioration of proprioception in 30° of injured side will not recover and non-injury side and will become worse after 1 year from the injury; among the VL, VM, and RF, the recovery rate of VL is the slowest and bilateral straight leg raising (SLR) (30°) is the best way to train it; the gait stability will be worse after 1 year from the injury. Therefore, we suggest that the training for proprioception in 30° and VL are important for the rehabilitation, and the ACL reconstruction should be performed within 1 year. © 2020 The Authors. The CHIME framework might be suitable to evaluate personal recovery measures and guide instrument choice. Three validated measures were evaluated in Dutch patients with a psychotic disorder (N = 52). We compared the Recovery Assessment Scale (RAS), the Mental Health Recovery Measure (MHRM), and the Netherlands Empowerment List (NEL). The measures were assessed on six criteria content validity (based on CHIME), convergent validity with a social support measure, internal consistency, floor and ceiling effects, item interpretability, and ease of administration. The MHRM scored high on content validity with a balanced distribution of items covering the CHIME framework. The MHRM and the NEL showed moderate convergent validity with social support. In all three measures, internal consistency was moderate and floor and ceiling effects were absent. The NEL scores demonstrated a high degree of item interpretability. Ease of administration was moderate for all three measures. Finally, the CHIME framework demonstrated good utility as a framework in guiding instrument choice and evaluation of personal recovery measures. The MHRM showed the best overall result. However, differences between measures were minimal. Generalization of the results is limited by cultural and linguistic factors in the assessment for the subjective measures (i.e. content validity and item interpretability). The broad and multidimensional construct of personal recovery might lead to ambiguous interpretations. Scientific consensus on a well-defined personal recovery construct is needed. © 2020 Australian College of Mental Health Nurses Inc.Bacillus subtilis is able to use γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) found in the soil as carbon and nitrogen source, through the action of GABA aminotransferase (GabT) and succinic semialdehyde dehydrogenase (GabD). GABA acts as molecular effector in the transcriptional activation of the gabTD operon by GabR. GabR is the most studied member of the MocR family of prokaryotic pyridoxal 5'-phosphate (PLP)-dependent transcriptional regulators, yet crucial aspects of its mechanism of action are unknown. GabR binds to the gabTD promoter, but transcription is activated only when GABA is present. Here, we demonstrated, in contrast with what had been previously proposed, that three repeated nucleotide sequences in the promoter region, two direct repeats and one inverted repeat, are specifically recognized by GabR. We carried out in vitro and in vivo experiments using mutant forms of the gabTD promoter. Our results showed that GABA activates transcription by changing the modality of interaction between GabR and the recognized sequence repeats. A hypothetical model is proposed in which GabR exists in two alternative conformations that, respectively, prevent or promote transcription. According to this model, in the absence of GABA, GabR binds to DNA interacting with all three sequence repeats, overlapping the RNA polymerase binding site and therefore preventing transcription activation. On the other hand, when GABA binds to GabR, a conformational change of the protein leads to the release of the interaction with the inverted repeat, allowing transcription initiation by RNA polymerase. © 2020 Federation of European Biochemical Societies.BACKGROUND Microstructure analyses are gaining interest in cancer MRI as an alternative to the conventional apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC), of which the determinants remain unclear. PURPOSE To assess the sensitivity of parameters calculated from a double diffusion encoding (DDE) sequence to changes in a tumor's microstructure early after radiotherapy and to compare them with ADC and histology. STUDY TYPE Cohort study on experimental tumors. ANIMAL MODEL Sixteen WAG/Rij rats grafted with one rhabdomyosarcoma fragment in each thigh. Thirty-one were imaged at days 1 and 4, of which 17 tumors received a 20 Gy radiation dose after the first imagery. FIELD STRENGTH/SEQUENCE 3T. Diffusion-weighted imaging, DDE with flow compensated, and noncompensated measurements. ASSESSMENTS 1) To compare, after irradiation, DDE-derived parameters (intracellular fraction, cell size, and cell density) to their histological counterparts (fraction of stained area, minimal Feret diameter, and nuclei count, respectively). selleck 2) To cs then  0.001). DATA CONCLUSION The DDE sequence allows quantitatively monitoring the effects of radiotherapy on a tumor's microstructure, whereas ADC only reveals global changes. EVIDENCE LEVEL 2. Pers. is a well-known plant in Ayurveda and named "Sarwa wranvishapaka" for its property to heal wounds. Traditionally, it is practiced for impotency, asthma, dyspepsia, hemorrhoids, syphilis gonorrhea, rheumatism, enlargement of kidney and spleen. It is an important component of herbal preparations like Tephroli and Yakrifti used to cure liver disorders. Various phytocompounds including pongamol, purpurin, purpurenone, tephrosin, bulnesol, tephrostachin, β-sitosterol, and so on have been reported. Modern pharmacological studies have shown that the plant have wound healing, antileishmanial, anticarcinogenic, antimicrobial, antioxidant, hepatoprotective, antifertility, antispermatogenic, anti-diarrheal, diuretic, and insecticidal properties. Acetylcholinesterase inhibitory action reported from this plant aids its utilization for the development of drugs for Alzheimer's and dementia neurological disorders. Among the known active compounds of T. purpurea, tephrostachin is responsible for antiplasmodial activity, tephrosin, pongaglabol, and semiglabrin exerts antiulcer activity while quercetin, rutin, β-sitosterol, and lupeol are mainly responsible for its anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. From different toxicological studies, concentrations up to 2,000 mg/kg were considered safe. The present review comprehensively summarizes the ethnomedicine, phytochemistry, pharmacology, and toxicology of T. purpurea. Further research on elucidation of the structure-function relationship among active compounds, understanding of multi-target network pharmacology and clinical applications will intensify its therapeutic potential. © 2020 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.OBJECTIVE The present study was performed to examine the role of pqqE inhabiting rhizobacteria in organic acid production and relationship of the organic acids with phosphate solubilization by the bacteria in vitro as well as in vivo. METHODS AND RESULTS The pqqE gene was PCR amplified and sequenced in genomic DNA of Pantoea sp. WP-5 and Pseudomonas sp. NN-4. Nucleotide sequence obtained from WP-5 and NN-4 showed maximum sequence similarity (88 and 89%, respectively) with the pqqE gene of Pseudomonas fluorescens strain CMR12a (KM251420). Deduced amino acid sequence from pqqE gene of Pseudomonas sp. NN-4 and Pantoea sp. WP-5 showed 75 and 93% similarity, respectively, with protein pyrroloquinoline quinone. Phosphate solubilization and acid production assay were quantified on spectrophotometer and high-profile liquid chromatograph, respectively, by each bacterial strain. Both strains produced organic acids such as acetic, citric, gluconic, succinic and malic acid and lowered the pH of Pikovskaya broth medium uns lead to the conclusions that the rhizobacteria inhabiting pqqE gene produced organic acids and solubilized the phosphate in vitro. On inoculation to wheat plants in field experiments, these strains produced the organic acids, solubilized the phosphate, and improved the P uptake and productivity of wheat. SIGNIFICANCE AND IMPACT OF THE STUDY The Pantoea sp. WP-5 and Pseudomonas sp. NN-4 are the potential candidates for inoculation to wheat as phosphate solubilizer even with reduced chemical fertilizer dose. The inoculation of the strains may enhance grain yield and net income of the farmer even with less chemical fertilizer application. This practice will be helpfull inminimizing environmental pollution. © 2020 The Society for Applied Microbiology. In clinical epidemiology, experimental studies usually take the form of randomized controlled clinical trials (RCTs). The data analysis of an RCT can be performed by using two complementary strategies, that is according to the intention to treat (ITT) principle and the per protocol (PP) analysis. By using the ITT approach, investigators aim to assess the effect of assigning a drug whereas by adopting the PP analysis, researchers investigate the effect of receiving the assigned treatment, as specified in the protocol. Both ITT and PP analyses are essentially valid but they have different scopes and interpretations dependent on the context. © 2020 Asian Pacific Society of Nephrology.
