Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the one-way structure of the scale. The reliability of the total score proved satisfactory (Cronbach's α = 0.831). In addition, group comparison analyzes showed that children from group homes reported highest fear of coronavirus.

Our results suggest that the Polish version of the FCV-19 Scale is a valid and reliable tool which can be used in the psychological assessment of the severity of fear of COVID-19 among children and adolescent.

This study examined psychometric properties of the Polish adaptation of the Level of Personality Functioning Scale-Brief Form 2.0 (LPFS-BF 2.0) measuring features corresponding to self - and interpersonal impairment of personality functioning as defined in the diagnostic guidelines for Personality Disorder in the DSM-5 Section III.

The study involved a non-clinical sample of N = 242 adults (52.9% female; Mage = 30.63 years, SDage = 11.81 years). To evaluate the criterion validity, the Personality Inventory for DSM-5 (PID-5), Personality Inventory for ICD-11 (PiCD), Agency-Communion-Inventory (AC-IN), and Mental Health Continuum-Short Form (MHC-SF) were administered.

The LPFS-BF 2.0 yielded two reliable latent components that correspond to an interpretation of self - and interpersonal functioning and showed relevant associations with a personality disorder severity index, maladaptive personality traits, well-being, and personality constructs of agency and communion. The LPFS-BF 2.0 also demonstrated incremental validity over and above all the PID-5 pathological traits with respect to global well-being as an outcome.

The Polish adaptation of the LPFS-BF 2.0 is a psychometrically and conceptually sound measure to assess features corresponding to self and interpersonal impairment of personality functioning as defined in the DSM-5 Section III. However, findings warrant replication in clinical populations.

Based on international data, it is estimated that the incidence of mental disorders among inmates is increasing at a disproportionate rate in prisons around the world. It is estimated that even every fourth convict may have a diagnosis of mental illness. It is worth noting that repeat offence rates among mentally ill people are also higher than in the general population of repeat offenders. The repeat offence rate among offenders with a diagnosis of mental illness ranges from 60% to 80%. This paper is intended to describe the situation of people diagnosed with mental illness in Poland, with reference to the available statistical data and international research. The aim of the study was to provide a state-of-the-art review with regard to neuropsychiatric disorders associated with tuberous sclerosis complex (TSC). TSC is a rare genetic disease classified as a phacomatosis. Due to the wide spectrum of clinical symptoms of the disease, many cases remain undiagnosed. The vast majority of people with a mutation in the TSC1 or TSC2 genes develop some of the neuropsychiatric symptoms during their lifetime. Diagnostic criteria, neuroanatomical pathology and pathophysiology of psychiatric, neuropsychological, developmental and psychosocial symptoms present in TSC are described. The specificity of epilepsy in TSC and its role in neuropsychiatric and neuropsychological development are presented. All levels (intellectual, developmental, behavioral, psychiatric, school, neuropsychological and psychosocial) of tuberous sclerosis complex-associated neuropsychiatric disorders (TAND) are discussed in detail. The TAND Checklist - a tool for assessing all potentially disturbed aspects of functioning - was presented. The importance of proper diagnosis of neuropsychiatric disorders and multidisciplinary patient care was emphasized.Quality of life is an integral element of a new perspective on health. Even though the definition and structure of the concept of quality of life are still being debated, researchers exploring the topic agree that it has both objective and subjective dimensions. When the quality of life of patients is examined somatically, the objectives formulated in the study procedure are usually easily achieved, particularly when the basic hypothesis is that good physical health generates a high quality of life. However, where mental diseases and dysfunctions are investigated, and the analysis involves a large number of variables constituting quality of life, the relationship is not so clear-cut. Consequently, in addition to methodological accuracy the researcher must put a major focus on the patients and their manifestations. The thesis stating that it is impossible to measure quality of life in this population, or worse still, that there is no need for such measurements, is indefensible, considering that people with mental disorders have the same right to a good life as healthy individuals, and achieving an improvement in their quality of life becomes an increasingly common target among anticipated therapeutic benefits. Looking at the issue from the perspective of findings obtained in multiple studies, it is evident that quality-of-life measurements are not easy, but a successful attempt may provide researchers with a source of valuable non-clinical data and even enhance their personal satisfaction.

The aim of the study was to make a general assessment of mental health, including signs of somatization, depression, anxiety, and functional disorders, in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) and to assess the impact of factors such as the duration of the disease, side effects of therapy, age, and gender on the occurrence of the above-mentioned disorders. Another goal was to identify patients at risk of developing mental disorders.

The study involved 91 patients and was conducted at the Hematology Clinic of the University Hospital in Krakow. The following questionnaires were used to assess mental health survey created by the author, David Goldberg's questionnaire GHQ-28, and the fourdimensional 4DSQ, measuring four dimensions of the mental condition.

The average level of the mental condition of the studied group was demonstrated. 29 people with mental disorders were identified. Women and people living alone obtained worse results in almost all dimenoduction of pharmacotherapy is recommended. All of these methods may improve a patient's quality of life.

The aim of the study was to assess the predictors quality of life (QoL) in women with postmenopausal osteoporosis.

The study was an outpatient, questionnaire-based poll, carried out from June 2018 to May 2019. The study included a group of 198 women, aged 72.31 ± 8.59 years, with diagnosed postmenopausal osteoporosis, treated in two osteoporosis clinics in the city of Lodz (Poland). The inclusion criteria were as follows a diagnosed osteoporosis in the patients' medical records according to the ICD-10 - M81.0 and no chronic diseases which would require systematic treatment. The paper utilized the following tools the Polish version of the QUALEFFO-41 quality of life scale, the visual analogue scale (VAS) and the author's own survey. The data were analyzed with the use of the multiple linear regression. Statistical analysis was performed using Statistica 13.0 software.

The average result of the QUALEFFO-41 was 40.26 ± 16.92 points. An analysis of particular QUALEFFO-41 domains revealed the lowest quality of life in the mental function domain (48.49 ± 18.06 points). The domain of activities of daily living was assessed twice as well compared to the domain of mental functions. Marital status, education and financial situation had a statistically significant impact on the quality of life (p <0.05). The analysis showed that the pain expressed on the VAS scale, pain waking from sleep, taking sleeping pills, and older age of the respondents deteriorate the quality of life.

The analysis showed that Polish women with postmenopausal osteoporosis enjoy an average quality of life. The quality of life of chronically ill patients and pain severity on the VAS scale are not routinely or commonly assessed in Poland.

This study, therefore, sought to exploit the recent trend in the brewing industry on the production of non-alcoholic beers by investigating the possibility of having a non-alcoholic beer flavored with bitter leaf, a known plant widely reported to have a strong hypoglycemic effect, as against the traditional use of hops, and the effect of the produced beer on the glycemic indices and various diabetic biochemical parameters that serve as biomarkers for type-2 diabetes (T2D). The glycemic indices, as well as the inhibitory potentials of bitter leaf-flavored Non-alcoholic wheat beer (NAWB) in ratios of 100%HP, 100%BL, 7525BL, 5050BL, and 2575BL, on enzymes linked to a high-fat diet/streptozocin (HFD/STZ)-induced T2D albino Wistar rats were investigated. There were no significant difference (p > .05) between the search could be an eye-opener to the possible utilization of bitter leaf and by extension other plants that have been reported in the management of T2D. The use of the bitter leaf as a substitute for hops in the production of non-alcoholic beer in the brewing industry could help in a health-oriented campaign for safe drinks that could be helpful in the control of blood glucose levels of diabetic patients.Nanoplastics (NPs) pollution poses a huge threat to the ecosystem and has become one of the environmental pollutants that have attracted much attention. RAD001 nmr There is increasing evidence that both oxidative stress and endoplasmic reticulum stress (ERS) are associated with polystyrene nanoplastics (PS-NPs) exposure. Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) has been shown to induce apoptotic damage in various tissues, but whether PS-NPs can aggravate LPS-induced apoptosis in mouse kidneys through oxidative stress-regulated inositol-requiring enzyme 1 (IRE1)/X-box binding protein 1 (XBP1) ERS pathway remains unclear. In this study, based on the establishment of in vitro and in vivo PS-NPs and LPS exposure models alone and in combination in mice and HEK293 cells, the effects and mechanisms of PS-NPs on LPS-induced renal cell apoptosis were investigated. The results showed that PS-NPs could aggravate LPS-induced apoptosis. PS-NPs/LPS can induce ERS through oxidative stress, activate the IRE1/XBP1 pathway, and promote the expression of apoptosis markers (Caspase-3 and Caspase-12).
