How a Jaguar Smart Key Works

Jaguar smart key allows you to lock and unlock the vehicle from a distance. Like all electronic devices, it is powered by a battery.

If your Smart Key battery is beginning to fail, your car could indicate this through a decrease in the range of its signals. The message center can also show an alert "SMART-KEY BATTERY FAILS".

Keyless Entry

With this feature, you can access your Jaguar without having to search through your pockets or purse. The system utilizes a proximity sensor to detect the Jaguar Smart Key, which will trigger the automatic opening of your XE. Take any door handle, and the vehicle will unlock and arm itself when you get closer. After you leave your vehicle you can lock it with a button on the door handle or by pressing the key fob.

You can also use the Powered Gesture trunk lid feature in your Jaguar XE. It is possible to open the trunk with gestures. This is ideal for carrying groceries luggage or sporting equipment around Gilbert without having to reach for your wallet or purse. This is an excellent feature for those who carry equipment around Gilbert frequently and do not need to reach for their hands.

Hold the Activity Key against your trunk when you're ready to close it. The hazard light will flash when it is successfully connected.

In contrast to other smart keys, the Jaguar Smart Key's battery won't need replacement. It is possible that the range of your device is reducing and it will not respond immediately to commands. Replace the battery as soon as you notice this.

Panic Alarm

With your Jaguar Smart Key, you can easily turn off your car alarm if it is playing at a high volume. The panic button is an easy feature that can be useful in certain scenarios.

Press the Smart Key button with a symbol of a headlamp three times in three seconds to trigger panic mode. The alarm will turn on the vehicle's headlamps for 25 seconds and activate the alarm five times to dissuade the potential perpetrator. If you press the button a second time the panic alarm will be turned off.

You can also utilize the Jaguar Activity Key to lock and unlock your car without the conventional Smart Key fob inside. Simply slide the Activity Key onto your wrist, close all doors, switch off your engine and then hold the Activity Key up against the Jaguar emblem on your tailgate. The vehicle will be secured and the hazards lights on your vehicle will flash to indicate that it is secure.

If your Smart Key fob battery is running low, you will hear a warning sound and see the message "SMART KEY BATTERY LOW" in the message center of your vehicle's display. Remove the chrome cover from the key fob and then slide out the CR2032 batteries. Replace the batteries with a new one that is facing upwards.

Improved Security

Jaguar offers a keyless entry feature on a variety of models, which eliminates the need to fiddle with your keys before you head out for your Irvine commute. The XE makes use of a proximity sensor to identify your key fob when you approach the vehicle. It will open and disarm the security system when you grab the handle. This feature is especially useful for those who lose their keys on the go or have to carry multiple bags, keys, and kids in the morning before heading to work.

You can also lock Jaguar by using the touch screen. Press the lock icon once to secure your car and activate its alarm. Press it two times to lock your vehicle twice. G28CarKeys ensures that the car cannot be opened or unlocked from inside even if someone breaks the window to gain access.

InControl Remote's Guardian Mode can be used to enhance the security of your Jaguar. This feature will notify your smartphone whenever it detects any unusual movement of your vehicle. If the vehicle is tampered with, an alert will be sent to your mobile device so that you can inform police immediately. This feature will help protect your Jaguar from theft, and is available on most E-PACE I-PACE and F-PACE vehicles.

Convenience

A Jaguar smart key can secure your car without you to touch the knob and allows you to put keys in your pocket or bag. It can also remotely start your car, allowing you to take off for your Rumson or Colts Neck commute with your car already warm or cool.

This feature is particularly useful for outdoor and sports enthusiasts who don't want risk leaving their keys in their car when they're on the trail or biking. You can also make use of your smart key to regulate your car's climate controls and seat settings, which allows you to personalize your cabin before you even get inside your Jaguar.

Although Jaguar's smart keys are more secure than traditional key fobs, you should still be careful when using them in public locations like gas stations or restaurants. Since they transmit a low-frequency signal, others could receive the signal to unlock or start your car from a distance.

Fortunately, this is easy to avoid by using the remote start system only if you're sure that you're in a secure location and you are certain that no one else will see your smart key. You can also set off your alarm from a distance, which will be loud enough to frighten away potential thieves. You can also add an Activity Key to your smartkey to eliminate the need for a keyfob when you are cycling or hiking.
