To assess the effectiveness of empowerment programs on mental health in parents of preterm infants.
Ten databases were searched for randomised controlled trials and quasi-experimental studies published from inception to March 2020, and two reviewers independently and critically assessed trial quality and extracted data.
Eight studies with a total of 1029 participants met the inclusion criteria. Empowerment programs significantly improved parental mental health, particularly maternal stress and depression. This meta-analysis also indicated that Creating Opportunities for Parent Empowerment (COPE) had a medium effect on maternal mental health. Both empowerment-based health education and empowerment programs conducted during the infants' hospitalisation had large effects on maternal mental health, whereas those conducted from hospitalisation to one week after discharge showed no significant effect.
Empowerment programs have positive effects on parental mental health, especially for mothers.

The aim of this research project was to describe the education, competence, and role of nurses working in the postanesthesia care unit (PACU) in 11 countries having an established perianesthesia specialty nursing organization and membership on the International Collaboration of PeriAnaesthesia Nurses, Inc (ICPAN) Global Advisory Council (GAC).
This is a descriptive international cross-sectional study.
A Web-based survey was distributed to members of the ICPAN GAC to be completed by the GAC representative or another expert perianesthesia nurse member from the organization (n= 11). Cognitive impairments have been identified as significant under-recognised negative sequelae of postintensive care syndrome. No treatment guidelines exist for cognitive interventions addressing the devastating consequences of impairmentsand their potential impact on outcomes of intensive care unit (ICU) survivors.
The aim of the study was to identify all available cognitive interventions and measurable outcomes for the cognitive rehabilitation of adult ICU survivors, as reported in published articles. Secondary aims included to critically synthesise existing evidence in improving adult ICU survivors' cognitive outcomes after ICU dischargeand to extract implications for future research.

Designing adjuvant trials is challenging because of uncertainties of prevalence and outcome of high-risk renal cell cancer (RCC) despite use of validated risk scores. Our objective is to investigate how differences in eligibility criteria may impact on potential study results in RCC adjuvant trials.
RECUR is a multicenter European database capturing patient and tumor characteristics, recurrence patterns, and survival of those curatively treated for non-metastatic RCC from 2006 to 2011 without any adjuvant therapy. We used RECUR to evaluate prevalence, disease-free survival (DFS), and overall survival (OS) according to eligibility criteria of immunotherapy-based adjuvant trials IMMotion 010 (NCT03024996), Checkmate 914 (NCT03138512), Keynote-564 (NCT03142334), RAMPART (NCT03288532), and PROSPER (NCT03055013).
Of 3024 relevant patients in RECUR, 408 (13.5%), 725 (24%), 609 (20.1%), 1363 (45.1%), and 1071 (35.4%) met eligibility criteria for IMMotion-010, CheckMate-914, Keynote-564, RAMPART, and PROSPER, respectively.
