Imaging of clinically relevant preclinical animal models is critical to the development of personalized therapeutic strategies for endometrial carcinoma. Although orthotopic patient-derived xenografts (PDXs) reflecting heterogeneous molecular subtypes are considered the most relevant preclinical models, their use in therapeutic development is limited by the lack of appropriate imaging modalities. Here, we describe molecular imaging of a near-infrared fluorescently labeled monoclonal antibody targeting epithelial cell adhesion molecule (EpCAM) as an in vivo imaging modality for visualization of orthotopic endometrial carcinoma PDX. Application of this near-infrared probe (EpCAM-AF680) enabled both spatio-temporal visualization of development and longitudinal therapy monitoring of orthotopic PDX. Notably, EpCAM-AF680 facilitated imaging of multiple PDX models representing different subtypes of the disease. Thus, the combined implementation of EpCAM-AF680 and orthotopic PDX models creates a state-of-the-art preclinical platform for identification and validation of new targeted therapies and corresponding response predicting markers for endometrial carcinoma.Recent research on sexting highlighted a relationship between this new technology-mediated behavior and psychopathology correlates, although up to date results are mixed, and so far, studies have often used simple and not clinically validated measures of mental health. CRM1 inhibitor This study aimed to investigate sexting behaviors, online sexual victimization, and related mental health correlates using clinically validated measures for global psychopathology, anxiety, and depression; and doing so separately for men and women. The sample consisted of 1370 Spanish college students (73.6% female; 21.4 mean age; SD = 4.85) who took part in an online survey about their engagement in sexting behaviors, online sexual victimization behaviors, and psychopathological symptomatology, measured by a sexting scale and the Listado de Síntomas Breve (brief symptom checklist) (LSB-50), respectively. Out of our total sample, 37.1% of participants had created and sent their own sexual content (active sexting), 60.3% had received sexual content (passive sexting), and 35.5% had both sent and received sexual content, with significant differences between male and female engagement in passive sexting. No differences were found between men and women in the prevalence of their victimization by nonconsensual dissemination of sexual content; however, women were more pressured and threatened into sexting than men. Sex differences in psychopathology were found only for depression prevalence rates but not for global psychopathology or anxiety. Furthermore, for male participants, our results showed a significant association only between online sexual victimization and psychopathology but not for consensual active and passive sexting. However, for the female participants, active sexting, passive sexting, and online sexual victimization were all associated with poorer mental health. Implications for prevention and intervention are discussed.From the available statistical data, cement factories co-process a range of over 100 types of waste (sorted both industrial and household) being authorized for their use as combustion components in clinker ovens. Therefore, the level of emissions is different depending on the type of fuels and waste used. The amount of industrial and municipal co-processed waste in the Romanian cement industry from 2004 to 2013 was about 1,500,000 tons, the equivalent of municipal waste generated in a year for 18 cities with over 250,000 inhabitants. The objective of this paper was to evaluate the emission level of hydrochloric acid (HCl) and hydrofluoric acid (HF) at the clinker kilns at two cement factories in Romania for different annual time intervals and to do a comparative analysis, to estimate their compliance with legislation in force. The measurements results showed average emission levels of about 0.578 mg/Nm3 for HCl and about 0.100 mg/Nm3 for HF, in the first hours of the evening, but decreased at the beginning of the third tour, at about 0.385 mg/Nm3 for HCl, respectively, to about 0.085 mg/Nm3 for HF. The evolution of HCl and HF emission levels during the last 4 years showed a variable distribution of these acids.Cadmium (Cd) is a toxic heavy metal element. It is relatively easily absorbed by plants and enters the food chain, resulting in human exposure to Cd. Italian ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum Lam.), an important forage cultivated widely in temperate regions worldwide, has the potential to be used in phytoremediation. However, genes regulating Cd translocation and accumulation in this species are not fully understood. Here, we optimized PacBio ISO-seq and integrated it with RNA-seq to construct a de novo full-length transcriptomic database for an un-sequenced autotetraploid species. With the database, we identified 2367 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) and profiled the molecular regulatory pathways of Italian ryegrass with Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis in response to Cd stress. Overexpression of a DEG LmAUX1 in Arabidopsis thaliana significantly enhanced plant Cd concentration. We also unveiled the complexity of alternative splicing (AS) with a genome-free strategy. We reconstructed full-length UniTransModels using the reference transcriptome, and 29.76% of full-length models had more than one isoform. Taken together, the results enhanced our understanding of the genetic diversity and complexity of Italian ryegrass under Cd stress and provided valuable genetic resources for its gene identification and molecular breeding.Abscisic acid (ABA) insensitive 5 (ABI5)-a core transcription factor of the ABA signaling pathway-is a basic leucine zipper transcription factor that plays a key role in the regulation of seed germination and early seedling growth. ABI5 interacts with other phytohormone signals to regulate plant growth and development, and stress responses in Arabidopsis, but little is known about the functions of ABI5 in potatoes. Here, we find that StABI5 is involved in the regulation of chloroplast development and photosynthesis. Genetic analysis indicates that StABI5 overexpression transgenic potato lines accelerate dark-induced leaf yellowing and senescence. The chlorophyll contents of overexpressed StABI5 transgenic potato lines were significantly decreased in comparison to those of wild-type Desiree potatoes under dark conditions. Additionally, the RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) analysis shows that many metabolic processes are changed in overexpressed StABI5 transgenic potatoes. Most of the genes involved in photosynthesis and carbon fixation are significantly down-regulated, especially the chlorophyll a-b binding protein, photosystem I, and photosystem II.
