In order to implement appropriate measures, it is important to understand how the population is coping with the pandemic. This dataset contains serial cross-sectional survey data from the first months of the coronavirus pandemic in Germany. Data were collected between 24 March and 26 May 2020 in ten weekly surveys (ns ranging between 500 and 515, in total N = 5,076) as part of omnibus telephone interviews. Samples were drawn at random from landline and mobile telephone numbers. The main topics of the questionnaire were (a) the expected impact of the coronavirus on one's personal life, (b) perception of infection risk, (c) protective measures and (d) information behaviour. Data were weighted to ensure sociodemographic representativeness. To account for the rapidly changing situation of the coronavirus pandemic in Germany, the questionnaire underwent several adjustments during the data collection period.Although data about COVID-19 cases and deaths in the United States are readily available at the county-level, datasets on smaller geographic areas are limited. County-level data have been used to identify geospatial patterns of COVID-19 spread and, in conjunction with sociodemographic variables, have helped identify population health disparities concerning COVID-19 in the US. Municipality-level data are essential for advancing more targeted and nuanced understanding of geographic-based risk and resilience associated with COVID-19. We created a dataset that tracks COVID-19 cases and deaths by municipalities in the state of New Jersey (NJ), US, from April 22, 2020 to December 31, 2020. Data were drawn primarily from official county and municipality websites. The dataset is a spreadsheet containing cumulative case counts and case rates in each municipaly on three target dates, representing the peak of the first wave, the summer trough after the first wave, and the outbreak of the second wave in NJ. This dataset he few locations in the US with a high prevalence of COVID-19 during the first wave of the pandemic in the US. Thus, this dataset permits exploration of whether sociodemographic variables predicted COVID-19 differently as time progressed. To summarize, this unique municipality-level dataset in a diverse state with high COVID-19 cases is valuable for scholars and policy analysts to explore social and environmental factors related to the prevalence and transmission of COVID-19 in the US.Cochliomyia hominivorax is the dipteran that causes the worst and most serious types of myiasis in animals and humans in the Americas. The data described here show the effects of a commercial product formulated on the basis of citronella essential oil nanoemulsified (Nano Citronela Plus®) directly on eggs, first, second and third stage larvae of the C. hominivorax blowfly, in addition to the indirect effect on the oviposition of adult flies. These data make up the gross base that was used in the preparation of the article "Repellent, ovicidal, larvicidal and adulticidal action of a nanoemulsion of Citronella essential oil (Cymbopogon winterianus) on Cochliomyia hominivorax (Diptera Calliphoridae)" Bricarello et al., 2021. Counting data of larvae, eggs and adult flies live and dead after contact with the product, data on weighing and counting of eggs from the repellency test are available, as well as photos of cuticular changes that occurred in the larvae and malformations observed after contact with Nano Citronela Plus®.Five different layered-fiber reinforced Cu-UV glue composite structures were prepared, with Cu plate and wire as the reinforcing phase, and UV glue as the substrate. The volume ratio of Cu and UV glue of these structures is the same, but the difference lies in the number and diameter of Cu wires. Three-point bending tests were performed on these structures, and the bending stress-bending strain curves of different structures were measured. At the same time, the finite element method is used to simulate the three-point bending test process of different structures, and the bending stress-bending strain curves of different structures were calculated. Then the experimental and simulated strengths corresponding to different structures were obtained from the stress-strain curves obtained by experiment and simulation. These data are supplementary material for the associated research article [1].The two-spotted cricket Gryllus bimaculatus is a popular food for reptiles and other insectivorous animals, for the ease of breeding and rich nutrients. It goes through eight moulting cycles until it grows into an adult of size around 30-40 mm, but different larval instars are also used for their sizes matching the fed animals. We therefore provide a transcriptomic resource on different developmental stages of G. bimaculatus to understand the inner molecular workings of these stages contributing to varying nutrients. The raw RNA sequence data is available at NCBI Sequence Read Archive (SRA) under the BioProject PRJNA716138 and the assembled contigs are available as a supplementary data of this report. This data article presents the raw data used in the article "Experimental and analytical evaluation of exhaust air heat pumps in ventilation-based heating systems" [1]. The data set contains measurement results of a field monitoring on a residential exhaust air heat pump system (air-to-air heat pump) in Germany. This data could be used to investigate the dynamic behavior and performance of the exhaust air heat pump systems. The data set contains air temperature and humidity of all four sides of the heat pump unit. Moreover, the electrical consumption of the unit and the dynamic pressure difference on the exhaust side (as indication of the air volume rate) could be also found in the data set.Diamond-like carbon (DLC) is an amorphous form of carbon that contains aspects of both the diamond and graphite structures. It is composed of carbon and hydrogen, and owing to its texture, high mechanical hardness, chemical inertness, and optical transparency, DLC is widely used as a protective coating in the form of a thin film, which is applied to the surfaces of many materials. Recently, it has attracted attention as a biomedical material because of its high biocompatibility and stability [1,2]. DLC is particularly suitable to be embedded in the body owing to its low friction properties and selective cell surface attachment properties [3]. The material is currently being developed for the treatment of bone fractures [4]. However, unlike fibroblasts, the attachment of osteoblasts has not been extensively examined and no morphological data is available on how osteoblastic cells form contacts with the surface of biocompatible DLC-coated materials. Herein, such data were collected by coating DLC on the surface of silicon plates. The attachment of mouse cells to the DLC-coated plates was examined by colorimetric cell proliferation assay, and morphological observations were made using a field emission scanning electron microscope. Also, the flat cross section of the cell and plate was obtained by the ion milling method. This article presents a dataset on political connections, Sharia, and abnormal returns surrounding the M&A announcement of listed firms on Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period 2010-2016. The dataset provides both short-run and long-run abnormal returns. Using an event study methodology, I calculate cumulative abnormal returns (CAR) as short-run abnormal returns and buy-and-hold abnormal returns (BHAR) as long-run abnormal returns. This dataset may be useful for researchers who study political connections, Sharia, and M&A performance. The data presented in this article are related to the research article entitled "Political connections, Sharia and M&A performance Evidence from Indonesia" (Wahyono, 2021) [1].This dataset consists of carbon and nitrogen stable isotope ratios of bulk collagen extracted from 229 human skeletons from premodern Japan. All samples were derived from different individuals excavated from mainland Japan and the Ryukyu Islands. Most of the skeletal individuals were identified, sexed, and aged by physical anthropologists. Collagen samples were extracted from bone or root portion of tooth dentin. Collagen samples were measured by an elemental analyzer coupled to stable isotope ratio mass spectrometry. Stable isotope ratios are the useful proxy of palaeodiet, and this dataset can be used for dietary reconstruction of premodern people living in the Japan archipelago.Coronavirus disease 19 (Covid-19) is a pandemic that affects every human on Earth. Mortality rates are greater in people with both cancer and Covid-19. In comparison, patients with non-Muscle-Invasive Bladder Cancer (NMIBC) had reduced susceptibility to moderate Covid-19 mortality. The treatment and clinical management of NMIBC are consistent with BCG-mediated intravesical adjuvant therapy as a protective function against tumors. BCG vaccination exhibits a non-specific protective role against respiratory infections. This non-specific effect of BCG is partially mediated by innate immune memory due to epigenetic changes in innate and adaptive immune system cells induced by the microbe. This editorial suggests that regularly test repurposed drugs include anti-cancer drugs till the proper antiviral drugs or vaccines will be developed.Hepatocellular carcinoma is a common malignancy usually associated with cirrhosis. Despite being a highly aggressive tumor with several cases of vascular invasion, metastatic disease to the heart is a rare condition. A 65-year-old male cirrhotic patient was admitted with dyspnea, ascites, and lower extremity edema. A transthoracic echocardiogram showed a large mass in the right atrium. Further imaging studies revealed the presence of hepatocellular carcinoma extending from the liver to the right atrium through the inferior vena cava. The cardiac mass was surgically removed to treat the symptoms of right heart failure, but unfortunately the patient died on the 30th day after surgery due to septic shock. The authors present the case of a 62-year-old male presenting with a relapse of ulcerative colitis. He had unprotected anal intercourse with other men and his medical record was remarkable for HIV infection. He was admitted to the emergency department with bloody diarrhea, tenesmus, urgency, and recent weight loss. selleck Laboratory workup revealed de novo mild anemia and mild elevation of inflammation parameters. Endoscopic evaluation displayed loss of normal vascular pattern, edema, erythema, exudation, and superficial ulceration in the distal rectum. Biopsies showed chronic proctitis with mild to moderate activity. The patient was treated with intravenous glucocorticoids, but symptoms persisted. Extensive microbial study allowed the identification of multiple infectious agents with potential for infectious proctitis cytomegalovirus, Chlamydia trachomatis, and Blastocystis hominis. This case highlights the importance of careful microbial investigation, supporting a detailed clinical history, in patients presenting with symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease flare, particularly in risk groups such as that with sexual risk.
